'Silly me! I, like Samardag, thought they were eagles...' Khessa thinks, after the dwarf cleric's revelation 'Thank goodness Eric has enough wisdom to distrust appearances and recognize the dangers!'
"Let's keep an eye on them, then, Eric..." the blonde arcane warrior prepares herself for the worst "I'm afraid that Nixi has sent Isidore towards them, probably to verify what they were... so she could, unintentionally, have attracted their attention... If I see them gliding towards us, I try to move in their direction, so as to stay between them and the caravan... perhaps, seeing me isolated, they will glide on me - unaware of the fact that, between this" she eloquently touches the sturdy metal armor "and my magic, I'm not very easy to hit. And when they come down to attack me we can react and kill them".
And the tall adventuress begins to do exactly as she said. She keeps an eye on the Perytons and, if they appear to glide towards the caravan, she tries to detach from the caravan and go towards them as 'bait' (maybe also sending a fiery welcome, if they come in 120' range).
"Brave and stubborn, even more than a dwarfish lady" says Eric, halfway between humorous and worried "please don't do anything too reckless. Please take this, if you won't go too far away, this will protect you" Eric will give Khessa one platinum ring. If she wears it she might notice she feels warm and cozy sensation; eventually he could see that a flaming rune of protection appears on his chest, above her heart (the same happens to the dwarf), by touching her hand, Eric casts Warding bond .
Khessa's blue eyes shine with a particular euphoric light upon receiving... a ring!? From Eric!? He's asking her maybe to…
"Eric, but... really...? Are you... sure...?" the blonde arcane warrior finds it hard to believe what is happening, while she puts the ring on the finger of her left hand, the one of her heart. She immediately experiences a warm, welcoming feeling (which she doesn't attribute to magic at first), but when she finally sees a flaming rune of protection appear on her chest, above her heart (and that the same happens to the dwarf) she blushes, feeling herself a little silly for thinking about… something else.
"Oh sure, magical protection, of course!" smiles the tall adventuress, realizing the real meaning of the gesture. But she still tries to see a deeper meaning in it: "So now our hearts are linked! Well," she winks "I'll take good care of both of them. I won't do anything rash... maybe those beasts won't even come close... But if they do, what should I do? I'm probably the best protected of the whole caravan (now even more, thanks to your usual kind interest)... should I let someone else get hurt or worse eaten? Don't worry, everything will be fine. I have..." she looks at him with intensity "I have several people I care about, to come back for".
"Lately, one more," her voice lowers a little "I think".
Zale nods to the dwarf then jogs up to the others just after Eric gives Khessa a ring. She gives the two of them an odd look before shrugging it off. "Uh, do ye know what be goin on? I saw Isodore flyin over to those other birds. Any particular reason for that?"
Noting Zeminny preparing his bow she continues. "I be guessin they ain't the friendly types..."

"Oh Zale!" Khessa winces "I didn't hear you arrive..."
The blonde arcane warrior immediately focuses on her friend's question: "They ain't the friendly types indeed! They are Perytons, man-eaters creatures! We better get ready to defend ourselves. If they get close, I'll try to get them to focus on me… You know, Eric is protecting me with his magic… To attack me, those beasts will have to come in range and we can, hopefully, get rid of them before they do any serious damage”.
One of the Perytons breaks away from the beeline they made for Isidor. It takes a look at the little group near Samardag and it beckons the other to follow.
Please make Charisma check Zale, Khessa and Eric. (and Samardag)
Zale and Eric with advantage, Khessa and Samardag with disadvantage.
Zale grins, "Heheh, not to worry. I do be the sneaky type even when i ain't tryin....Perytons? Hmmm, sound delightful. Oh so that's you two was doin. Heh, genius." Then she looks back at the sky, Hmm, yeah it would be best if we could get em down here. I be a much deadlier fighter with me sword than with this crossbow, but that might be a bit much to ask. They'll probably be swoopin in n out o the battle if we do tangle with em."
Then she notices one of the creatures start flying towards Isodore. "Ooooh that don't look good. Hopefully that bird be quick."
{{ffs I wanted to kill Samardag *unhappy DM noises*}}
For some reason the Peryton choose Eric as their target. Anyone in the group with Samardag can make a ranged attack or hold their action for when the Perytons come into range. Others can join after the first flyby (or with a +100 ft ranged attack).
If the Perytons make it to Eric they'll dive straight to Eric.
Peryton A: 8 + 5 = 13 to hit for a Gore attack (miss) and 11 + 5 = 16 to hit for a Talon attack (also miss)
Peryton B: 19 + 5 = 24 to hit for a Gore attack, doing 5 + 3 = 8 dmg + extra dmg from it's Dive = 3 dmg and 11 + 5 = 16 to hit for a Talon attack. Total dmg = 11
Hearing Isidore's report, Nixi summons here to come back immediately. She warns the others of hostile magical creatures approaching, but it seems they have already discovered this news. Seeing the diving attacks, she runs to help.
Khessa was actively trying to attract the attention of the enemies on herself... I guess she failed?
Anyway, if Eric is their target, she awaits until the monsters are both in 15' range (prepares the action, if needed) then she unleash a storm of fire against them. The monsters will be near each other, I guess, since they both attack the same target in the same round (6 seconds...).
If it proves impossible to catch both of them in the cone, the blonde arcane warrior prefers a Magic Missile against the first of them.

Zeminny, overhearing the talk of flying periwinkles or some such creature prepares his bow and concocts an emergency plan in his mind

Please make Charisma check Zale, Khessa and Eric. (and Samardag)
Zale and Eric with advantage, Khessa and Samardag with disadvantage.
Samardag's roll: 11 + 4 = 15
Player: Any Good Alignment // DM: Lawful Evil
Khessa's Charisma check: 18
Sorry, forgot didadvantage, doing a 2nd roll and we keep the worst
Khessa's 2nd Charisma check: 16
So 16 it is
Eric's charisma check: 10
Zale grins, "Heheh, not to worry. I do be the sneaky type even when i ain't tryin....Perytons? Hmmm, sound delightful. Oh so that's you two was doin. Heh, genius." Charisma: 16 (that was with advantage)
Kriv notices his friends looking to the sky and looks up as well. “Huh… weird birds.”

Initiative 16
Khessa was actively trying to attract the attention of the enemies on herself... I guess she failed?
Anyway, if Eric is their target, she awaits until the monsters are both in 15' range (prepares the action, if needed) then she unleash a storm of fire against them. The monsters will be near each other, I guess, since they both attack the same target in the same round (6 seconds...).
If it proves impossible to catch both of them in the cone, the blonde arcane warrior prefers a Magic Missile against the first of them.
If Burning Hands: 10 fire damage DC 13 dex save for half
If Magic Missile: 12 force damage
Zeminny will send an arrow into the periwinkle closest to reaching Eric
Attack: 22 Damage: 5
Then Zeminny will move forward to get close enough to use his net next time
Only one attack hits. Eric is surprised by the creatures but his armor is thick enough to resist to most of the attacks.
His initiative is 8
