"Indeed, all those poor people deserve to be buried properly" nods Eric "I'll help in digging and performing their funeral ritual. But let me tend your wounds first"
Eric spends some time to tend Khessa's wounds. Thereafter, he starts with digging and funeral rituals
Kriv lowers the maul and looks at it for a minute, thinking over Khessa’s inquiry. “Well, I saw you swinging and suddenly everything stopped. The man from the bath house was here. He was covered in leaves and said I was worthy of his fist. Then he told me to use it. Next thing I know, I raised it and boom… lightning.” He pauses before turning to Eric. “I don’t know much about gods or anything like that, but do you think it could have been him?”
Eric also casts Identify on the maul, to check if something happened
"Him? you mean Silvanus I guess" the dwarf thinks and mumbles between himself for few seconds " I didn't notice anything but I do not doubt about your words; and gods are almighty after all. Yes if it is as you say, I do believe that you has been chosen by Silvanus who blessed you with his favor. This is a great new indeed, but which is his purpose I do not know, powers greater than us are at work, for the good as well for the evil. I do have the feeling that Silvanus will be our precious ally but which is his ultimate goal, only the Gods know"
OCC:these are Eric's thoughts, but if any specific knowledge can be added by his check or by identifying Kriv's weapon, he'll add it accordingly
With the battle over Calvin shifts back into his human form, "Well, I didn't plan that very well."
...
"Don't worry, you did what you could" Khessa pats Calvin on the shoulder. "These beasts look like formidable fighters..." she tries to bend down to better examine the big reptiles "They won't attack me, will they? Can I examine them a little? You know, I've never seen any before..."
"These beasts look formidable," the blonde arcane warrior nonetheless resumes "they would certainly have been very useful on the front line... You know, I was hoping to lure the enemies close to me (therefore even closer to you), in the center of the formation! But instead they split up, attacking the sides... And the one on your side almost immediately changed his mind, starting to chase me. It was just an unforeseen evolution of the battle, not your fault at all".
"What teeth..." the tall adventuress notices, meanwhile, trying to make one of the summoned crocodiles open its mouth delicately "And what a tail! It must be heavy... it hits hard, I guess. Really beautiful beasts!" she begins to make notes in her spellbook, both regarding the potential connection of Silvanus with the Maul of Kriv, the sudden lightning phenomenon observed... and regarding the anatomy of crocodiles also... this last one might be not magical knowledge, officially... but who knows if really in nature, there is no magi deep inside?
After one last critical look at the notes, Khessa helps dry the ink with some sand then she puts the tome away and picks up the shovel again, bustling alongside Eric to bury the fallen.
Zale raises her sword, grinning as the bullywugs come running towards her and her companions. Yes, more fiends on which she can channel her frustration from the last few days. Just before she can rush forward and strike at one, lightning descends from the sky with a flash, ending the miserable lives of the frogmen before she even makes it within arms reach of one. She grits her teeth, a flash of fear and rage rushes through her as she looks to the sky, expecting to see blue wings blocking the sun. However, the sky remains empty aside from a few birds. Confused, she looks around, noting the green glow around Kriv's maul. Kriv did that?
Still slightly irritated, she grabs some dirt and leaves from the ground and uses it to clean her blade. After sheathing the rapier, she makes her way back to her companions, managing to catch the last bits of their conversation.
"Eh? Kriv be blessed by a god?" She speaks up. "Really?!" She looks at her friend. "I don't be sure how to feel about this, but so long as he be on our side I guess it gives us some advantage." She squints at the maul, "Hmmmm, do ya think it can do anythin else? I mean, we probably will be fightin that blue bastard at some point, and I don't be thinkin that lightnin will hurt 'im much."
Calvin nods his head, "Yeah, they should be friendly to you, me and the rest of the group. So, as long as I maintain concentration on my use of the powers of nature, they will remain here. Of course, that's not what they actually look like. They are actually fey spirits that take on the form of animals. In this case crocodiles."
He pauses for a moment to catch his breath.
"Of course, if I had taken on the shape of a giant lizard, I would have been quicker. I guess I was just excited about relatively recently learning to take the form of a crocodile."

"Well... We'll have to be content on dissolving that blue bastard in acid" Khessa mimics the acid breath she used before and winks. "It will be a pleasure to be at your side".
Zale looks to Khessa, wiping some blood off her face from where the troll hit her in the same motion. She regains her usual grin. "Hah, That's right! That be a pretty darn fancy trick 'o yers. Sometimes I do be wishin that I could change me natural breath weapon, heheh. But hey, with the lot o us, I do be thinkin we could stand a chance against that dragon."
As she talks, the wound on her face drips a bit of blood in her eye. She curses, pulling the bandanna off her neck dab it out of her eye then press it on the wound. "Damn that bloody troll. Guess I'll be addin another scar to my collection."
"Yes, I saw that it hit you well, at the start..." Khessa checks her dragonborn friend's wound in turn "I was hoping to lure both trolls to me, truth to be told... To burn them both together with acid; that's why I was positioned a little ahead of all of you... But you couldn't know it, my friend, and you're always so quick... before I could say anything, you'd already leapt forward to blow thunderbolts at the troll! And then it came after you".
"But even if the first hit was its, the last one was yours, huh?" laughs the blonde arcane warrior, patting Zale on the shoulder "And it's more important to score the last one than the first!"
Eric also casts Identify on the maul, to check if something happened

After the fallen warriors have had a proper burial, Briferhew decides not to travel any further today. The night falls and everyone is ready for some rest.
Khessa, before going to bed next to Eric (leaving Anator to keep watch), tries to have a word with Briferhew... both to console him, if he seems down in the dumps, and to ask him if attacks of this kind are the norm, or if it was a surprise even for him.
"Of course you 'can handle this'!" Khessa strokes Nixi's cheek to cheer her up "You 'handled' much worse... When Cyanwrath almost electrocuted you to death, for example..." she shivers at the memory "Everything will be fine, you'll see! Just, next time you are teleporting out of trouble, as destination... instead of choosing a bush, choose behind me, okay? A bush has its charm, I admit it... but it cares much less about your safety than I do, my friend!"
When Eric starts feeling the power of Silvanus maul, his mind goes back to the day he caught the stag into the wood into the ancient ruins. the voice echoes in his mind "not all will survive" suddenly he thinks "was that also Silvanus voice? and so the bow belonged to him too?" from the little he know about the deity it could be possible, in any case he is relieved that somehow the Gods seems so see their quest with favor.
once his ritual is finished the dwarf speak to Kriv again "this maul harbor more divine energy than I thought in the first place. It got a deep resonance with the power of nature and react to the energy of the environment around us. Also it can collect natural energy and release it once per day, as you saw today during our fight."

All that matters is bein the last with yer head above the waves..." She trails off, smile wavering again as images of her past flash behind her eyes. She gives herself a small shake only to grimace again as it makes her head swim a little. As the tall warrior moves her hand away after patting the rouge's shoulder, Zale catches it. "I didn't know that was yer plan this time, but I shoulda guessed that was the case." She gives the other woman a meaningful look, "By that I mean makin' yerself the target seems to be your plan A, B, and C. You may be able to take a hit, but that doesn't mean you should be takin all o them."She clears her throat and releases Khessa's arm. "I've been takin care o meself on me own for quite a while now, and while I can't take as many hits as you..heh, I sure can take a hit. And even if it do leave me nockin at death's door, I know I have comrades who can drag me back so long as I don't go no farther then that. Heheh 'Tis a thing that's happened more then once." She holds her hands out to either side, "But I do admit I was a bit carried away out there today.
