"I don't know Zale..." Khessa seems both doubtful and worried "And what if the Cultists decide that, instead of helping you, they prefer to give you the final blow? I would try to think of a different distraction... Or I can send Anator ahead of us to scout, so as to at least see how many there are and where they are, those who do secret things in the warehouse at night".
"So, third option, I guess" Khessa smiles, hugging the dwarf cleric and resting her head against his, appreciating the sensation of... stability, of reliability... she feels as if she is resting on a spur of rock resistant enough to build a fortress with which to challenge the centuries...
"It's okay anyway..." thje blonde arcane warrior comments "All in all, it's always a question of tradeoffs... It will be harder to be stealthy, but it will be easier to react to unexpected events or dangers. We'll do that way".
(OOC: In the meantime, has the sun set?)
It's late spring, almost summer, and you're pretty far north. So sun set will be pretty late. However most people are in the common room now (including Luck, some stable boys, teamsters, workers and cultists). The people that leave mostly retire to the rooms.
Khessa consults with her friends: "The sun hasn't set yet... and the 'rats' haven't arrived yet, so, surely. Shall we wait for darkness? Or do we take advantage of the fact that they're all here to go and try to pick the safe room's lock?"
Meanwhile, Khessa looks around for Zale's enemy. Is she in the common room too? And does it appear that she has been healed of her injuries, or is she still in the same critical condition as she was when she finished the fight?
Khessa thinks: 'Zale's enemy isn't there... Maybe she's taking a long rest? And it's late spring, almost summer... So people sleep with the windows open, by now... And the vast majority of the cultists are here...' and while she thinks, she gets closer and closer to a of the windows of the common room.
The blonde arcane warrior makes Anator, who is still hidden under her thick golden locks, disappear, sending him into the private pocket dimension where a Familiar can retreat. Once near the window, she, while breathing fresh air and savoring the scents of late spring, makes Anator reappear outside the window, above and to the side, in a position where no one can see him, for now (and therefore no one has reason to think he isn't a common bat).
The tall adventuress mentally instructs him: 'Look for Zale's enemy, my brother... The windows should be open. If she is sleeping in a room, you should see her. When you have finished looking for her, whether you have found her or not, please notify me telepathically, and I will decide what to do'.
Khessa, refreshed by the breath of air at the window, sits down again with her friends, waiting for their answers (as well as Anator's answer).
Kriv looks to Zale. “Too bad you are still a bit beat up. I bet a 2 vs. 2 rematch would hold the camp’s attention.”
"Heh, That would've been a perfect distraction." Zale sighs, "Though if we did do a rematch now, I'm sure I'd win. She couldn't have been much better off than me by the end."
“Yeah, it's probably best,” Khessa agrees “let's relax here a little longer”.
And the blonde arcane warrior awaits, in the meantime, the announcement of her brother... Will Anator be able to identify Zale's enemy? Or not? Will he see her alone or with company? Asleep or still awake? She is really eager to know...
"Wellll, If we be relaxin, I think I'll be takin meself a nice nap." She says placing her hands behind her head, "The more o me strength I can get back, the more use I can be. Just don't let someone stab me in me sleep."
Anator flies out the window of the common room. He sees the Carnath Roadhouse, a large wooden building with a courtyard and stable. He smells the smell of horses, hay, mud and sweat. He hears the murmur of voices, the clatter of plates and cutlery, the neighing of horses and the croaking of frogs. He feels the warmth of the evening sun and the cool breeze coming from the swamp.
He begins his search for the cultist who injured Zale. He knows how she looked. He flies past the windows of the top floor, where the bedrooms are. He sees several people lying in their beds, some sleeping, others reading or talking. He also sees some guards walking around with torches. It must be getting darker soon.
He flies through all the windows, but he can't find the cultist anywhere. Some of the windows are closed though. This far north the nights can get cold even when it's almost summer and from the nearby swamp come many insects that could disturb their sleep, the familiar contemplates. He thinks maybe she's hiding somewhere. He becomes impatient and frustrated. He doesn't want to disappoint Khessa.
Anator telepathically relays to Khessa what he does not see:
I can't find her. I checked all the rooms , but she's not there. She may have disguised herself, or she may have gone somewhere else. I don't know what to do. Do you have another idea, sister?
'No, my brother, we'll leave the things as they are, for now. Everything is fine' Khessa telepathically reassures her Familiar. 'I would have liked to surprise Zale's enemy, before she could recover from the after-effects of the battle... But I don't want to take any risks. You would stand out if you entered through a window to continue your search. Maybe later I'll ask Nixi if she can make you invisible and we'll try again, but for now that's enough! It was just an attempt to get rid of a dangerous opponent, while we had a good chance, without arising suspicion. An attempt that was worth making'.
The blonde arcane warrior sends Anator again to the Familiar's pcoket dimension, then she summons him again to her shoulder, hidden by the thick golden locks, where he usually stands. Satisfied, she scratches him and furtively strokes his fur with a finger: 'No one noticed you! Very good, you are always an exceptional help'.
The tall adventuress continues to relax with her friends (and keeping an eye on Zale), waiting for darkness to fall...
The party is sitting at a table in the common room, where they have enjoyed Eric's meal. You are trying not to stand out from the other guests, talking quietly about your plans to investigate the warehouse. You decide to wait until it's dark so you have less chance of being seen.
While you wait, you can observe the surroundings. You see that the common room is a large open space, with a bar, a fireplace, and various tables and chairs. There is an atmosphere of tiredness and boredom. Pete is pouring drinks, the fireplace is crackling, and the tables and chairs are occupied by silent or sleepy people. There is little light, except from the torches on the walls and the candles on the tables.
You're begging to feel different sensations. You feel the warmth of the fire, the cold of the night, the hardness of the chairs, the softness of the bread, the bitterness of the wine or beer, the tension in your muscles, the nervousness in your stomachs, the curiosity in your minds and the determination in your hearts.
When it is dark enough to take action Zeminny says: Well now, let's have a look downstairs!
Khessa tries to locate a secluded, out-of-sight place where everyone can cast the desired rituals. She participates in the same ritual as Eric (also casting Detect Magic as ritual). She then is ready to try to enter the warehouse. Now that it is night and, therefore, a bat should not arouse suspicion, she has Anator fly about 30 'ahead of the group, instructing him to alert her telepathically if she spots anyone.
The blonde arcane warrior reminds everyone of what they learned from Pete: "This is one of the nights when the Cultists should do something in the Warehouse or Safehouse... Let's move with caution, because if they aren't already there, sooner or later they will arrive anyway".
"I don't know Zale..." Khessa seems both doubtful and worried "And what if the Cultists decide that, instead of helping you, they prefer to give you the final blow? Or I can send Anator ahead of us to scout, so as to at least see how many there are and where they are, those who do secret things in the warehouse at night".
"Well, that's why Kriv would be there." Zale shrugs. "But having Anator scout wouldn't be a bad idea either."
Kriv looks to Zale. “Too bad you are still a bit beat up. I bet a 2 vs. 2 rematch would hold the camp’s attention.”

"I'm pretty sure your opponent has to rest tonight. But we'll watch over your rest, you have nothing to worry about" nods the dwarf

"This place is cozier than I thought, thanks for keeping me up!" the dwarf laughs "let's go!"
Eric cast Detect Magic again (as ritual) and venture downstair, looking for the same abjuration spell he sensed before
Whilst Eric takes the time to cast Detect Magic as a ritual, Calvin will cast Speak with Animals as a ritual as well. Just in case.
