Mina utters some curses under her breath as again she misses with her trusty net.  Seeing the guard viciously attack Kyrsa, Mina claims the guard her slayer's pray and draws her longbow and looses an arrow at the guard

Mina, Kyrsa, Jhaartael, the human guard and Akyan, are all convinced by Tamryn's performance that the mission is indeed over.  The human guard lowers his weapons.  The dragonborn does not hear the message.  All other actions that occurred after Tamryn's announcement should probably be re-thought in light of this development.  

For Akyan, this occurred after he unlocked the inner door, but before he opened the door and went through.

Lyndaran was following Tamryn but not yet in the room to hear the announcement.

Upon hearing Tamryn's announcement, Jhaartael's jaw clenches even as the rest of his body relaxes into an easy stance of poise and readiness.

(Dang, and she finally hit! lol)

Mina is about to loose her arrow when Tamryn announces the result of the test.  She sighs and lowers her bow, "Now what?" she asks Tamryn.

Irritated, Akyan has to stop himself from throwing his lockpicks across the room. "Are you serious?"

(Do I still take all that damage? The guard was last in initiative right?)

Kyrsa pauses, somewhat confused. "Wait, that's it?" 

Tamryn looks at the human guard and says, "You are needed for a debrief downstairs. Is there anyone else up here I should tell?" 

When the guard cannot see, he winks at each of his teammates in turn.

Akyan stares at Tamryn for a moment before realizing what he meant. "If we succeed because of this trick.... Whatever." Then he responds to Tamryn, "Yeah, the other one went in there."  He jabs a thumb at the door.

 Yes, I'm afraid the human guard's attack happened the round prior to Tamryn's arrival and deception.

The guard seems unsure, and says, "Who told you the exercise was over? Doesn't seem long enough to me..." and moves to the inner door, presumably to confer with his dragonborn companion.

(Okay, just wanted to make sure. In that case, Kyrsa still used her second wind to regain some hit points just before Tamryn came in.) 

Seeing Tamryn's signal, Jhaartael shifts his weight subtly. He opens and closes the fingers of his hand in sequence making the ring on his finger sparkle in the light. To those in these rooms the sound of Breezy chuckling and then saying "Time's up" seems to come from somewhere out in the hall, perhaps from downstairs.

(If Jhaartael's trick doesn't work)

Akyan will try to quickly open the door, as if he is opening it for the guard to walk through, but instead slam it into the guard's face.

Tamryn says, "Well why don't you go ask her yourself?" And points to the doorway to the hall.

Deception: 16

(OOC: Rolling a second time in case Jhaartael's help gives me advantage: 14)

Hearing Breezy's voice and bewitched by the Charisma of Tamryn, the guard stops, and says, "Huh.  Guess so," and heads towards the outer hall.

When Landaryn gets here, I want to shut and lock the door behind the human guard. 

Akyan watches as the guard walks away, then says, "What about the one in this room? Is she able to hear Breezy? If not, she may still be hostile."
