Kyrsa's eyes widen for a moment as Mina looks to her. She recognizes the pain and anger in her friend's tone, "Are you sure?" She asks, sounding both sympathetic and doubtful at the same time as she walks over to examine the book. "Have you...have you had any contact with your brother? Anything that could have foreshadowed this, unsavory business decision?" She looks up at Mina, "Is there a possibility that this could be someone else with the same name?"
She new it wasn't likely, but she wanted to remain more on the positive side if she could. She puts a hand on Mina's shoulder, "You never mentioned having a brother before. Is... is this why?"
Akyan watches Mina with a neutral expression. He can only imagine what is going through her head. Not knowing what to say, he keeps his thoughts to himself.
Tamryn frowns. He says, "Sometimes, even our dearest loves have dark secrets. But Kyrsa is right, this may not be your brother. Would you like to help Jhaartael and I look through these papers to see if we can find more information?"
It occurs to you that if you're going to torch the building you might want to hurry up. The later the morning progresses, the more people will be travelling the streets, putting civilians in danger and also more possible witnesses to your arson.
The ledger found in this warehouse is labelled Station 3. The ledger from the previous warehouse was Station 9. There are several transactions recorded in the ledger that document shipments sent "to HQ".
"I say we just get out of here." Akyan speaks up, "Like Tamryn said, this isn't headquarters, so we don't need to burn it. We just need to get out unnoticed." Squinting out the window he continues, "I also think we should get back to the safehouse, I don't know about the rest of you, but i prefer to do these types of things under the cover of darkness."
"Yes, lets get out of here," Kyrsa says, gently squeezing Mina's shoulder in a final attempt to comfort her before removing her hand. "We know where HQ is from our last mark. We can head back to the safehouse if no one else wants to give our last mark a visit. I wouldn't mind just finishing what we started, but if I know I'm used to pressing on even after a full day of fighting. If no one else is feeling up to it I'll understand."
Mina looks back to the name that is now seared in her mind. "No. I don't know what happened to him after I left home. Never would have guessed he would have gotten himself into this." Mina lets Kyrsa remove her hands from the book, almost in a stupor as the others talk about fire and not fire.
As the talk switches to the last mark they have, Mina looks up with a renewed fire in her eyes. "Let's finish this."
Akyan shrugs, "Alright then, lets just get out of this building before we make any more plans." Once again he squints out the window, trying to see if there is anyone near the building.
Perception: (I'm going to guess he has disadvantage now.) 21 23
Staring out the second-story window to the street below, he sees the occasional pedestrian passing by. No one seems to be paying any particular attention to the building, at least on this side. The window is around the corner from the side door, and directly opposite from the large barn doors where the wagons enter. (meaning Akyan cannot see what is happening outside either of those doors.) Lyndaran is still outside the side door.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ffter offered himself to heal Kyrsa or the most wounded of his companions ( cure wounds for 3 if necessary) Lyndaran goes out and guard the side door to prevent anyone to go to the building. He tries to go unnnoticed, but even with the hood over his head he seems a little bit conspiciuos. He knocks on the door, opens it a little bit and says just putting his head inside.
"We should hurry, people are start to waking up... "
Kyrsa nods to Mina, closing the book and tucking it away for later use, "Then there is a possibility that this might not be your brother. ...and, if it is, well--sometimes good people fall into darkness by mistake. Perhaps if we cross paths we can pull him out of that darkness."
She nods to Akyan, 'Yes, lets go."
When Lyndaran offers to heal her she thanks him, feeling even more ready to take on the next target.
Before Akyan exits, he taps his hat and uses disguise self to make himself look like a human. After exiting the building, he attempts to be as stealthy and inconspicuous as he can despite the daylight.
Tamryn joins the others. "So, are we headed back to the safehouse?" He (quietly) tells them everything that happened at House Dannihyr while they walk.
"Nope. Taking out the last slave house."There is no humor left in Mina's voice. Anger flirts with the edge and she is trying to keep herself calm as she knows if she doesn't she can be a danger to her fellow elves.
If the others persist in heading back to the safe house, she'll follow along, mutely.
Lyndaran just mutters "We were going to burn this one down didn't we?"
He nods in agreement with Mina to head towards the latest of the slavers houses. They had the element of surprise, once they learnt what happened to the other two they will increase their security.
As everyone exits to the street, they do not note anyone staring, pointing, or indicating in any way that they notice anything unusual. It is now about 8:30 AM. The last Serpent Station you have the address to is about a 15 minute walk. Are you heading there, or to the HQ, or to the safehouse? Any short resting?
Jhaartael's raven flutters back down from a nearby rooftop, and reports back with visual images of Zenia, Ovni and Marcus leaving the city gate. Neero the duergar was not with them.
