Meleager, away from the prisoner, whispers to the others
"I guess he means a bugbear or similar as Big Hairy. In my opinion we can still make it, we have indications where to go to and we can also follow the tracks.
The problem is: if we going to rescue them, what do we do about the cart? Let's try to hide as best as we can and then leave. Grolsh, Ronzek, can you help me to move the cart?"
Thus he goes inside the cart and checks what these supplies really are. He is curious but also diligent: he wants to know if anything is perishable or can draw wild beasts (e.g. bear searching for food etc.)
The wagon is packed full of an assortment of mining supplies and food. This includes a dozen sacks of flour, several casks of salted pork, two kegs of strong ale, shovels, picks, and crowbars (about a dozen each), and five lanterns with a small barrel of oil (about fifty flasks in volume). The total value of the cargo is 100 gp.
Grolsh thrusts his spear through the throat of the goblin, ending the miserable creatures life. "No more waylaying travelers on the road. We do a service for people everywhere." Grolsh wipes his spear on the body of the goblin and heads towards the direction the goblin pointed to the cave but stops before entering the woods. "Are we going?"
Grolsh begins to follow the trail, every now and then looking at his companions. Grolsh notices the looks they give him because of the goblin slaying. To hell with them, That goblin has robbed and killed more people during its life along these roads. I did the Sword Coast a favor slaying that bandit.
"So what is the game plan? We go to rescue the human guard and then what?"Grolsh says as he continues searching the forest around him as he walks. "I am all for slaying these bandits in the cave but if Gundren was sent ahead to Cragmaw Castle or wherever this 'Black Spider' is we are wasting precious time. We should head to Phandalin and deliver the cart like we promised and go from there. But..." Grolsh hefts his spear overhead and smiles "I am in the mood for some bloodletting."

Zuix notices some rustling in the trees and determined it to be a pair of squirrels chasing each other through the thickets

Meleager
Meleager, helped by the others, hides the cart away from the road and the says:
Look here! Some of this staff may come handy!
He says biting into a piece of dried pork.
Then he puts into his trunk what could be necessary: some ration for three days of travel, a lantern with oil, a shovel, a pick, a crowbar.
Finally, when everyone has taken what he needs, he puts everything back, taking care of putting the food at the bottom, so that the smell is lessened
@everybody: Meleager is ready to leave

Meleager
Meleager, while hiding the cart, sees Grolsh killing the prisoner with the corner of the eye, too late to intervene.
He nods his head in denial, he would have considered necessary in the end, but he doesn't really feel good about it. thinking:
I spent my word to set the goblin free...mhhh...poor thing...
Grolsh looks around the woods trying to see if he can find the tracks for himself. 24 Survival roll

Grolsh
The goblin was telling the truth. You see the tracks are exactly where he had pointed them out to be.
Mitsu is taken aback by Grumsh's ruthlessness. He says nothing, though.
(OOC: Assuming we take the trail)
Mitsu stays near the back of the group as they traverse the path, but stays in front of Meleager.
He moves as quietly and inconspicuously as possible.
Stealth: 21
And that's all I have to say about that.
Meleager is the last to leave the cart, covering it with blankets.
Then he recovers the javelin launched before.
He follows the others at the rear, taking his javelin and putting the glaive aside, for the time being.

Stonegrin, please make a DEX save at advantage, since Grolsh is attempting to warn you.

Stonegrin triggers the hidden snare, but Grolsh helps him to move swiftly out of the way.
Zuix follows in line, seeming to be mumbling to himself about nothing at all.
Stonegrin looks to Grolsh and gives him a nod of appreciation for assisting him with staying out of the snare, "Could have been nasty Lad, thanks"
