Elthana stares at Muir. "You're really going to stand there and lie to me? You literally just said you're not keeping anything from me and then you do. What are you going on about and why do you keep looking above my head?" She swats at the air above her head like she trying to get rid of a fly, anger rising fast in her after everything going on. "Answer me."
Muir smiles and takes his star maps out of his bag and points to the constellation Lyra "I am conversing with the cosmos for help and guidance...I don't have an answer yet so there is nothing to tell but if you allow me to continue, I will share if there's anything to share." Muir continues to smile but pleads with his eyes hoping Elthana sees.
Elthana blows out air and her anger releases with it. "Sure, continue."
She turns back to the others, "Hector do you think it's too late for me to be disguised or hang back? Or is it more important that I do? I will hang back if I need to, we need to fix this situation."
Seeing Elthana rejoin the conversation Hector stands and takes in a big breath as if coming to a conclusion. "I think once the elders are collected together I should speak to them either alone or with a few of you, then the rest should join afterwards, if needs be I can have Eaos and Kudd here act like they are keeping watch on Elthana so that the elders don't see her as a threat... No wait that would just give off the impression that I think she is a threat... Ahhhh, ok ok, I'll speak to them alone, and then I'll have you all come in and do introductions, sound good!?
As for those who may recognise her the folks down here aren't likely to have taken much notice, there is one mural within the mount which depicts Nivara but it is so old the similarities have all but faded, it was painted years after the incident either way." Looking to Elthana he gives a decisive nod, and a smile "hood up til we get there, just to be safe yes? We should get going."
Sam eyes this Hector guy suspiciously. First they all had to see the council, then Elthana had to be disguised, then they're lead into this secure room to get her out of sight, then Hector is bringing just a small group to the council and now we are all waiting in this room? Sam can't help but wonder if Hector and his half-truths just walked them into a cell... (Insight? 16)
Oh, wait... We're not being left here just not brought into the final room? Sam thinks as Hector says they should get going. Sam is still suspicious, he could just have wanted to give guards time to amass... ((so I misread and then added this once I reread but it still works, just roll with it...))
Sam also eyes Muir and his half-truths but he doesn't trying to discern if the Loxodon is full of crap or not... Sam knows he always is.
Sam looks to Neferox as Vin mentions them but then turns away, thinking about his own lost animals. It still sticks in Sam's craw (or would if he knew what a craw was) that he had to leave them behind and he idly wonders what has heppened to them between then and know. It's not real sadness that washes over Sam for he knows they're not exactly real in the same sense as Neferox or Muir but that doesn't mean he wants them to suffer needlessly... He hopes they're not too aimless without him and don't feel abandoned, at any rate.
“I would prefer that at least some of us go with Hector for the initial meeting. I am happy to volunteer”, Vin chimes in.
He doesn’t feel comfortable letting Hector go alone just yet. It isn’t that he believes he will do anything bad, it’s just they only met a short time ago, and this meeting is really important to their goal of gaining another lodestone. Certainly a life or death situation.
"the mural is at the mount where we will meet the elders. I have no idea what a post card is but a recreation of the mural would certainly be eye opening for sergor haha. As for your idea vin I think that would be wonderful, how about yourself and Gewyn? I think that you two may be the best back up for my persuading the elders." Hector gathers himself as he waits for a response to the question posed and makes ready to leave.
Muir nods in agreement and nudges Vin "Excellent idea! Young Vincent is very capable mediator and Gewyn has a silver tongue like no other and this will allow me to look at the mural in the meantime"
"Of course you'll be close." Hector grins and heads out. On the way, Hector gives the short blue skinned Goliath a nod and purchases a hefty bag of breads from the man, with his newly acquired stash of foods hector leads on with his dragonborn guard bringing up the rear.
The mount itself is a modest building in comparison to the grand crystal castle that was Akiin's home or even compared to the dark stone castle of the treasury. The outside of the mount could be compared to a large town hall, with worn crystal pillars holding up the roof which juts out over a large entrance.
After some words between hector and a golden dragon born manning the door, the group are let into a cold lobby, which is through the entrance and down some steps descending slightly into the ground. To the left there is a set of steps going up to the second floor and next to it a set of doors leading to the west wing of the first floor, the right of the group is a mirror of the left with steps ascending up next to doors leading to an eastern wing, but notably the doors on this side are taller and a fog seems to be radiating from under the closed door. In front of the group is a set of double doors flanked on each side by a set of curtains, covering some decorations.
Before anyone can begin to explore Hector halts you all, making sure Elthana's hood is up and secure, he nods over to a curtain next to the double doors directly in front of you all, "I believe that's what you're looking for Muir... Anyway, you should all take a seat I'll gather the elders, get them all into the main hall and then I'll bring Vin and Gewyn in with me to start things off!" With that hector runs off to the left and up the stairs, a moment later you can hear him knocking on doors and conversing with someone.
You are left in the lobby, seating behind you and the curious notion of what hector meant by the curtains.
Gewyn follows Muir to the Mural as he prepares his opening statements in his head. Thumbing through his notebook, he opens up to a blank page and inspects the mural. "I could probably do a fair recreation of this, given time. Just need to sketch down the basics to serve as reminders of the overall form and impression of it, to make it easier to call up the image with a bit of magic. What do you think?"
Vin also takes a look at the mural as they wait for Hector to gather the elders, looking closely to see what other details there might be along with Nivara.
Muir nods at Gewyn’s suggestion and quietly says to whoever’s around the mural. “It would be wise to write down everything. It may help us in the end. She was last seen with Vox…if we have to go there every piece of information will be useful”
Sam digs into his things and brings out some parchment and a pen. Instead of going to the mural, however, he hands them to Elthana. "Your man Sergor is expecting a well written report," Sam notes as he does so. "Just remember, do what you can to ensure Hog is and stays safe. I was worried for him even before I knew he was surrounded by undead..."
"Err, no offense," Sam quickly adds. "You turned out good so they can't be all bad.... I guess."
As Muir, Gewyn and Vin uncover the first mural, they see that it is very very old, some marking s seem to have been restored in recent years but the rest of it, however well kept shows its age.
It depicts a giant, as big as a world and the children which come from it, one off the children is shrouded in lightning and becomes the focal point for the rest of the mural, each child is whisked away to a plane of their own and the lightning child finds themselves falling in a vast expanse. They use their magic to lash out lighting capturing the sky itself and the lightning solidifies bringing stability to the child who begins to grow, as the child grows so too does the land which then split off into several isles each falling for eternity but kept somewhat together by the giants magic. Life sprouts from the falling lands and the giant sees that it is good, she then takes several clouds and forms them into a seat, perched above she keeps watch on the life which thrives below her, all she sees is hers and she looks after it.
As Gewyn begins noting down the basics of the storied mural, Hector comes running down the stairs and across the lobby, "wont be long!" He says as he hurries off toward the eastern side now, opening the door and entering, as he does the fog begins to sweep into the lobby from the east wing and a deathly chill hangs in the air.
A moment after the door which hector just came out of opens and another elderly shadar-kai walks down the stairs, she regards the group with completely black eyes similar to those of Elthana but only nods a greeting before turning her back and entering the door to the first floor west wing.
Muir returns to the group "So what is it we are to do next....follow and wait? Where is this painting of Nivara?"
"Maybe they sell postcards of the Mural? We could send one through the bag to Sergor," Sam suggests. "Wouldn't THAT be a hoot?"
Muir looks at Sam, laughs, and cheekily adds "Well maybe the postcard would add a little color to his rather pale complexion"

"Sounds good to me, we do make a good team", Vin says to Gewyn with a wide smile as he agrees with Hector's suggestion.
He looks to Neferox and something passes between them before he turns to follow Hector.
"Of course you'll be close." Hector grins and heads out. On the way, Hector gives the short blue skinned Goliath a nod and purchases a hefty bag of breads from the man, with his newly acquired stash of foods hector leads on with his dragonborn guard bringing up the rear.

Investigation (with guidance): 17+3+1=21
