Gewyn beams with relief when Elthana, though there seems to be something on his mind. Still standing next to Vinghov rather than near the rest of the group, he says, "Glad I am to see you safe and sound! It may not be my place, but allow me to make important introductions. This here is the mighty Shenoh," he says gesturing at the beautiful giant woman with a polite bow. "Her advisor, Sol,"indicating the golden man. "And of course Vinghov, who you've already met, though under a less friendly context. Allies they are, all, and I can personally vouch for their honour and reasonableness. Under their custody, I was never in danger, and was given a chance to prove myself. Even having revealed, my trick upon Vinghov's mind, they have all recognized the necessity that brought it about, and chosen to move forward productively. I have demonstrated to them the current state of Lumithor, which they have verified thrice. You can trust them."
Then softer he says, "I truly am relieved you are here safe and sound. We'll talk later."
Turning to Shenoh. "As to our group matter, I move that we table it for now, now that Elthana is here and secure. As far as Sam's crimes, while he may have committed some misdemeanors against your regime here, his greater crimes were against us. You have shown your respect for proper procedure and justice, so I trust you will understand that while we are a small delegation, we answer to a legal body of millions just like you. Whatever crimes he has committed against us fall under the jurisdiction of the Marblestead council, an entity with whom you have diplomatic relations. To maintain peace, he will need to return to our home plane with us to stand trial when our time here is done. I trust this makes sense?"
Some stands up straight when he hears Elthana's entrance but he refuses to look at her. He has been disappointed enough by the group, he cannot bear to see more of it in her eyes. Still, it pleases him to hear her voice, hear that she is safe. At least as much as any of them are...
Muir approaches Sam while Gewyn gives introductions. Sam narrows his eyes but that is all. When asked for the bag Sam begins to say something in reply but decides there is no point. Sam turns his Bag of Holding upside-down and then turns it inside-out, dumping everything inside of it into a big flow of items at Muir's feet. "Use it to protect yourself, eh?" Sam sneers but then ignores the Loxodon.
This little interactions ends just in time for Sam to hear Gewyn accuse him of crimes. "Crimes my pale green ass!" Sam replies even as Gewyn continues speaking.
"Not Nivara", Vin repeats quietly as Elthana explains who or what Mori is. "How many doppelgängers might there be? Do they all look like her. Is there one in Ginro's court? And the other Djinn?", he ponders under his breath just as Shenoh starts to question Elthana and then Gewyn starts introductions.
He looks from Gewyn to Shenoh to Elthana, wondering what was happening and who was going to answer whom.
And then there is Muir and Sam and the bag and a clatter as its contents are dumped on the floor. Not to mention Sam and Gewyn starting to bicker.
There was too much happening at once, and all he really wanted to know was what happened to Elthana and how she got this new information.
"Can you all just let Elthana answer Shenoh's question, please?!", he finally says trying to cut through the commotion.
Shenoh's first words as Elthana stands before her, confuses her, but then as she mentions Mori is her mother's name.. that was not what she expected. She's about to respond when Gewyn heads into introductions. She honestly glad, it gives her some context and a moment to collect her thoughts.
But then things start to unravel behind her as Sam dumps out his bag at Muir's feet and Gewyn mentioning Sam's crimes and military prison.. her mind starts swirling.
No, she can't let them be a distraction, this is all too important. "Mori? Yes, Mori is my mother's name but other than familiar looks of a mother to a daughter, she is not identical to me. Now the Mori that resides here, she is." Oh man, how to describe what just happened? As clear as possible she supposes, the fact they have tried to deceive the people of this isle by disguising herself as she arrived, she now sees the folly in this, but honestly, Elthana can also see how badly that might have gone if she had shown up looking like Mori with the group.
Trying to straighten her thoughts, she continues, "Honestly, I thought Mori was Nivara in disguise as well, the feeling I had... I get this chill - this tug in my mind that seems to tie myself to her, it's not always clear, it's hard to explain, but there has been a semblance of it ever since stepping foot in Thaeir. I know what Nivara looks like, I could show you if my restraints were removed, but I also know Nivara could make herself look however she wants. The reason I believe Mori is not actually Nivara is when I was held in Mori's quarters, I was visited by Mori." Elthana vaguely blushes as she recalls this, "Honestly it scared me so bad after all the visions and nightmares and the knowledge that if she acquired my soul she would be whole that I kind of lost it. I ran to your guards and begged them to keep me from my quarters. Well, they thought I was nuts, restrained me and forced me back in. I did ask for them to join me, a couple did."
She takes a couple of breaths, concerned about telling Shenoh this next part, but decides no more lies, no more deception.. this is what it is and if she is punished for it, so be it. "While sitting on the bed, Mori started talking to me. At first I had no idea, thought it was in my head at first honestly, but it wasn't. She told me how centuries ago Nivara created her and sent her to this isle to create Mornlyft" she eyes Sam for the first time here, her thoughts of Molly coming unbidden, her eyes are soft as she regards him but before other thoughts come, she turns back to Shenoh, "and do Nivara's bidding. She begged me to save her, she wants her life here, she wants to be released from Nivara and help us fight against her. Though with that request came a threat. That if I didn't, she would resort to Nivara's methods to stay alive."
"When the guard came in and called me Elthana, I was so relieved and hopeful to see my friends again, Mori slipped my mind as we left and headed here. I now see the fault in my lack of duty and I am sorry for that. As for being sure that Mori is not Nivara, I just have two reasons for that. One, she didn't appear to lie to me and two, the more compelling argument is if Nivara was in a room with me... I would no longer exist. I am sure of that."
Shenoh ignores the rest of the group, focussed entirely on Elthana, even as gewyn previously does the introductions her eyes never leave Elthana, as Sam dumps the contents of the bag and Muir picks through to make sure his things are accounted for and in tact, her eyes do not leave Elthana.
As Elthana speaks shenoh picks over every word. Taking time to digest the information before responding. "You are nervous, fearful. Calm yourself, align your thoughts... Mori spoke to you about her life here, she has been here centuries, she was sent to us to create the mornlyf that we produce, this much is true, but it is also exactly what Mori would know. You referred to those quarters as your quarters... And insist Mori begged you, but she begs no one... Tell me exactly how she presented herself to you and exactly what Nivara needs from 'Elthana' to complete her ritual, and what Nivara is hoping to achieve exactly..." The flame in shenoh's eyes seem to burn a little brighter as she listens.
Elthana frowns, "Well yes I'm nervous and fearful. I'm trying to take Gewyn's words to heart, but after being imprisoned and scared for my life, it is hard not to be." She feels the presence in her mind and hopes like hell it is Shenoh and not Nivara.
"I guess I did. I'm nervous, they are obviously Mori's quarters, that was my first time in them. If the guard had asked me to lead him to the quarters I wouldn't have been able to, instead he led me to them. And well, she did beg, I mean she knows her life is in danger now, has it ever been before? Has she ever had reason to beg?"
Elthana's fear starts to subside as anger starts to creep its way in. She knows she needs to keep a cool head, but can't help herself. "Exactly how Mori presented herself to me? Well, first she started crawling out of the full length mirror in the adjacent room to the bedroom, that is what frightened me and I ran, first casting darkness in the space to help give me a head start to the door. Then back in the room, on Mori's bed, she started talking to me. I looked around and didn't see her, but I allowed the conversation to continue as I was curious. Turning my back to the guard at the door."
"That is where she begged and threatened me. It was a very short conversation. As for what Nivara needs? The piece of her soul I have inside me." At this, Elthana's anger melts away, in place comes thoughts of Morris's treehouse in where she learned she had only a fraction of a soul. "What she wants to achieve? I'm afraid it is complete world domination. I know how ridiculous that sounds, but she has come to the conclusion that the only way to beat death, to accomplish her goal is to not beat Nectyran, but to become the god of undead herself."
Vin listens and tries to follow along but is a little confused by Mori first appearing crawling out a mirror and then Elthana having a conversation with Mori but her not being there at all. He looks from Elthana to Shenoh, wondering if it made any sense to her.
What could Mori even be if she was created by Nivara? And how would they release her even if they wanted to, which seems like a really bad idea? This was all a little beyond his current experience.
Elthana's final words are the most shocking though. He knew Nivara had a grand plan and assumed she had used Nectyran in some way to help her goal, or was even working with Nectyran to free them. But trying to replace Nectyran as the god of the undead was another level again.
No wonder Morris had taken an interest in their plight. It was a wonder he wasn't more actively involved, assuming he knows.
If he catches Elthana's eye he will give her encouragement with a smile or nod, but remains silent allowing all focus to be on her.
As shenoh digs deeper in to Elthana's mind she finds truths in Elthana's words, not only does she see the visions that Elthana attempts to draw forward of Morris and the revelations therein. But also of lumithor once he had returned from his mission to see vox, the visions elthana has had of Nivara in the castle, her skeletal frame, crown of bone and malicious intent. These thoughts come swirling forward in Elthana's mind, provoked by shenoh who, picks things out like a pickpocket thieving through Elthana's mind.
The intensity in shenoh's eyes dissipate, "this is indeed not Mori," she looks over to Ingram. "Hold any of your forces near mori's quarters by her door, no one aside from vinghov goes in or out, go to your barracks and equip your entire unit with lanterns and sweep the core entirely, Mori is on the run, likely mobilising fail-safes and highly dangerous. Kill on sight. Vinghov head to the quarters and investigate that mirror and any other evidence that could tell us what she has been up to. If the mirror is inactive report back for orders, we need to think before taking an action such as destroying it"
She then looks to gewyn. "Your group has a decision to make. But for now I am willing to table it, if you prove to me that you can still work well as a team, Sol will lead you. Go to the mornlyf factory and shut it down. Find the warehouse and destroy the remaining reserves. If you encounter any resistance sol will decide whether lethal force is to be used or not. Take Sam with you. But this is the last chance I'm willing to extend."
Finally she turns back to Elthana, pulling a keystone from her belt she gestures Elthana to move forward and have her manacles loosened.
Muir finishes picking up his things stands up and moves away from Sam towards the rest of the group "Your highness, I do not think Sam is right. Since the cursed pendent he has been off. I suspect the pendent, although removed, has had some sort of effect on him...possibly a curse....Would it be possible to check him over and restore him as well? I ask a lot based on his behavior and although these traits are normal for him as Gewyn says, they have been amplified ten fold. He has never threatened violence to one of us, let alone 2 of us. So please, before we go can you do to him as was done to me. Thank you"
“I have never threatened violence on yas before?” Sam retorts, amused. “Hells man, I’ve done violence to the group before. You ignorant or just lying? Cause both are very unlike Muir…”
“Thank you for your wisdom, Shenoh. We will see it done, and I will take personal responsibility for the conduct of this team on the mission.
”Muir, it was before you arrived, but Sam has undergone a cleansing process. Any curses or residual magics will have been cleared from him, and if he was under the effects of lingering toxins from a poisoning, those would have been cleansed from him as well. He is just Sam, and we have worked together fruitfully before. Let us once more turn ourselves to the task at hand and get it done. Is everyone with me?”
Gewyn makes eye contact one by one with each member of his party before nodding to Sol.
“Trust is something we can discuss en route. We have overstayed our audience, and have a time sensitive mission to attend, as do our hosts. You don’t need to trust Sam yet. Just trust me when I say I. Will. Take. Responsibility.” Gewyn gives Muir a meaningful look, imploring with his eyes to allow them to leave the room
“I’ve warned you about messing with minds before,” Sam says towards Gewyn as his picks up his maul. He merely shoulders it as if for travel. “It still holds…”
Elthana lets go of the breath she was holding. She also no longer feels Shenoh in her mind, she is grateful for that. She steps forward and holds out her cuffed wrists for her to unlock her. She ignores the conversation going on behind her.
Shenoh gives an exasperated sigh, looking the group over. "Vin stated that you all act as a family. You have made it this far as such. Sam is still on the hook for the actions he himself admitted during his time here, and no Gewyn, Marblestead has no authority here, not to exercise our laws nor the jurisdiction to exercise theirs here. This is your group's last chance to gain my full trust, As A Group. Sol will travel with you and see to it that any inter party fighting or further unlawful behaviour is dealt with swiftly and permanently... It seems that some of you are still suspicious that the other is not who they say they are, no magics or quantifiable evidence will deter either sides stubbornness to accept the truth. Take this time to figure out amongst yourselves what is actually going on. Before you destroy eachother or **** up so badly that we need to take action to do it for you..."
Shenoh then takes a lamp looking object out and places it next to the keystone that Elthana is approaching to use. Whilst Elthana is up there shenoh whispers something to her and then unlocks the manacles, storing them away.
Gewyn beams with relief when Elthana, though there seems to be something on his mind. Still standing next to Vinghov rather than near the rest of the group, he says, "Glad I am to see you safe and sound! It may not be my place, but allow me to make important introductions. Realizing the bag is now on Sam, Muir approaches but stays several feet away not trusting Sam......"May I have the bag please?
Some stands up straight when he hears Elthana's entrance but he refuses to look at her. He has been disappointed enough by the group, he cannot bear to see more of it in her eyes. Still, it pleases him to hear her voice, hear that she is safe. At least as much as any of them are...

This little interactions ends just in time for Sam to hear Gewyn accuse him of crimes. "Crimes my pale green ass!" Sam replies even as Gewyn continues speaking.
“I’m trying to keep you out of military prison Sam.” Gewyn says simply.
“By conceding that I have communicated crimes?” Sam responds. “Your help is unhelpful.”
"Not Nivara", Vin repeats quietly as Elthana explains who or what Mori is. "How many doppelgängers might there be? Do they all look like her. Is there one in Ginro's court?
