Millwater checks the room for more signs and letters before checking out the bedroom for more of the same.
*Update* He spends a few minutes in the corner across the shrine, spaced apart from one another, while feeling with his paw "E...M...R" he says before following elf to the bedroom.
"Cloister? (it dawns on him that she could be ancient) Is this temple supposed to be buried?" He asks the elf.
As you all gather about the chest to see what is inside you all find the following items. Two suits of + 1 studded leather halfling sized one suit of +1 leather suitable for a tall cat. A +1 monk suit sized for a shorter cat folk, a +1 suit of scale mail, a +1 medium shield. You find the following weapons all + 1, Great Axe, War hammer, short bow, Scimitar, Rapier and claw tips. 6 potions of cure light wounds, 3 potions of cure moderate wound, three rings of +1 protection. 1,000 silver coins and 500 golden coins.
As you divide all the loot Millwater asks the elf woman if this shrine was meant to be buried. She smiles at him and explains to him the layout of the shrine is one where many can come visit. A place to find peace as they worship. The design of this shrine was never one to be buried or locked away from those who seek it out.
One last note. You all have made it to the fourth level. Please update your character sheets as needed.
"Wow! She must really like us!" Festoon exclaims upon seeing the items and learning their properties. "I've got to be nice to all the blue glow ladies, from now on! I see these are basically made for each of us, so let's get equipped!"He then proceeds to don one of the studded leathers and looks at the short bow and rapier. "I can use both of these, but who else is needing an upgrade, so I can get the one you don't need? And how do you want to divvy the rings and potions?"

“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
"We past a ruined wood elf settlement, was it apart of this shrine? Who are the God (Gods) worshipped here?" Millwater asks the elf. With a hundred other questions buzzing in his mind like bees.
"I'm not one hundred percent sure if Chauntea or Gond are here, I've never had that close relationship with the Divine. It's hard to commit to things you haven't seen. This lady though, I'll listen to her. She has helped and provided for us and hasn't asked anything untoward. For this I give thanks. And this,.." he picks up the bow, "and for this, " he looks at one of the armors.
"Millwater, I've been practicing my punching and kicking, what do you think of this!?" J'nah does his best to put together a pair of strikes at the air, his hairy foot flat and steady as he poses at the end. "It feels like I'm doing this right, but I can always use pointers from someone as experienced as you."
The elf woman answers the questions from Millwater. "Yes, the wood elves of the small hamlet you liberated worship here a lot. I am Maelyrra Bryphyra one of the elders from that tribe who worships the patron of this area. We call her Mother, even though her name is Rheilyssia. You may call her Mother too if her name is hard for you to pronounce. IS there anything else you require? Healing or reset perhaps?"
Millwater corrects J'Nah's form and whispers "I think she is very old, how long was the temple buried? I wonder."
Showing the full crane wing kata, fluid archery type movements that include the strikes J'Nah mastered. "Should we tell her, How? People have broken for less." He whispers. The next higher crane wing katas, punches and hand strikes look like reloading drills. Having an A-ha! moment, recognizing J'Nah's interest shows striking cobra katas and forms. Showing how they have a focus of aim at short distances. "I'd tell her, but im gonna hurt her feelings being to blunt."
Sorrow bows her head at the elf. ‘I believe we’re good to go-unless someone has other needs’ casting a look at the rest ‘and I understand we have a meeting with some folks to the North.’ She gets a lopsided grin. ‘I’d hate to keep them waiting too long before introducing them to these nifty new toys we’ve been given. Bit of a shame really.’
"I think that addressing the Elf in the room is a good start, I mean, we haven't been here long ourselves yet she seems to know already what happened at the tree platforms. That must be the hamlet she's talking about." J'nah turns to Maelyrra, "I will not forget the name Rheilyssia, Mother stood by us in these trying times. If you can tell what happened behind our path, perhaps you can aid us find our path forward. Any divining to help us rescue the people we promised to help and deal with their abductors would be greatly appreciated." J'nah says as he bows his head.
Was there another way out from here, or do we have to backtrack?
As J'Nah speaks with Maelyrra, Millwater fingers the yellow cloth of the monk's Gi, super tight weave with thin padding between ribs and along the spine. Slipping into the Gi, he giggles at the time he defeated his master trying to put him into a onesie.
With the zoomies, Millwater puts the Gi through his katas, testing it out. Feeling confident the garb doesn't slow or hinder him he steps up to aerial kicks and acrobatics. Next he fits each tip of the claw extensions with a click onto his own. His eyes widen and a smile creeps onto his lips, his claws look so much bigger! Ooo,shiney!
Taking a share from the coins, more than he ever held in his life! Deep down feels guilt, because he wants treats. Why camp, when you can glamp! Thinking of the dry and preserved gourmet foods he could buy. Finally taking a potion of cure light wounds, and securing it to his belt for emergencies. He feels that he has more than his fair share.
Outfitted and ready to go, Millwater does another sweep looking for signs and writings of the mundane teachings of the Mother. Before taking leave with Maelyrra he says " I belong to an order of physicians, that seek the mundane teachings of the Gods. Songs, fables, decrees, sometimes even recipes that make the lives of people better that follow them. What may I bring to the order about the mother Rheilyssia?"
As some look for another way out you all come to the conclusion if there is another way out you do not have the ability to find it.
As J'nah talks to Maelyrra she tells him. "While I already knew the fate of the hamlet I escaped while it was attacked I know others escaped too. There are other hamlets within the trees. If you come across any just mention my name. I will spread word about you to them so they know those who come bearing knowledge of my name are to be helped as they can. While I can use my divine ways to scry what lays ahead of you I am sure you have a lot of what you need already. The children are safe for now as those who have taken them and others are now worried about a force withing these lands whom can disrupt their whole operations. Exactly what those operations are I do not know at this time. Mother will be watching as you grow more and more of her shrines. The more freed the stronger she can become."
She turns to Millwater. "Songs and fable which you seek are being written about your group now. Your small band of explorers and adventures are quickly gaining fame. The more you learn about Mother and the more you rid these lands of evil the more you will be the story to pass to your elders and others. "
Looking at those moving about the room she speaks to you all. Whole she does not speak loudly you all hear her as if she is talking softly beside you. "You have cleared this temple for the beasts wh0p had over taken it. Mother is happy you have done this. You know your path forward to the north. While you have to go back to the waterfall to continue the path forward rest assured Mother will be watching you. She is still to weak to step in to assist you she can offer rest at her next shrine. May you all know peace soon after slaying those who are responsible to the lack of worship in this area."
She turns and walks to where the chest is behind the large face. The chest moves out from behind as the face moves back to its original position
What is you next move? You all have full hit points. Those with Temp hit points still have them.
"Ohh, you hear that? We're famous!" Festoon exclaims. "Let's head back and continue our search and clear out the rest of this mess."He adds, packing up and heading back the way they came.

Vee nods his head. 'Agreed-backtracking it is. Care to lead us to the waterfall, festoon?' he asks as he shoulders the Xbox once again. 'I can cover point' he calls back to Sorrow.
Millwater packs up a bail of spider web silk, and his cooking utensils into his pack. He passes out a warm pie made mostly from ration ingredients to each companion.
He follows his companions out of the shrine, wondering what the next looks like.
Leaving the shrine you make your way back to the entrance where you find yourself once again on the path behind the waterfall. If you head left you will be headed back to the wood elf hamlet you cleared of goblins and the hobgoblin. This is also the way back to the village all of this began in. If you head right you will be once again moving into unexplored unknown wilds. You will also be heading north along and in the foothills of the mountain range just to your east. Looking up you can see the water cascading down from a outcropping of rock. You did not notice anything on your way out of the temple hidden behind the waterfall but you did sense there was the feeling of peace instead of possible danger.
Do you head right (north) or left (south)?
