“Why in Fractum would we want to overthrow Simon? You must know the majority of us aren’t even from here. We are just doing quests to get some coin.” Corvus counters, “Yes, we have mentioned him possibly paying these thieves, but it appears that he, or whoever it is, is was just paying them in order to keep them from doing farther harm. A noble deed, giving up wealth to protect the weak.”
The guard looks at Drezmir he seems unaware of this discussion of Drezmir being framed. Corvus seems to be talking to a lieutenant of sorts. The guard looks to Kocino when he talks of "The ills they have suffered." he takes a deep breath.
"You wouldn't understand. Fine make you're preparations and leave.. Today. You've a few hours."
"Sir! We should arrest them!"
"No, they killed the giants and the Jet brothers. I will honor that with a few hours to leave Glazing Winds.. In peace."
OOC: Perception for what Kocino? Or did you mean Persuasion??
"Well.. I mean.. Nevermind matters here are for us to handle. Go collect you're coin and leave here in peace. If you do just that.. Than I will not fight you."
Corvus sighs, “Very well then, just thought I’d offer.” He waves at the guard as he walks back to the group. These guards were even more on edge than he thought. He glances back at the guard, “Tell me one thing. Is it Simon himself who wants us gone?”
Jess watches this playing out with her mouth shut. She knows she's not the most persuasive or likable person. Her new allies are doing a fine job of interacting with the guards.
The guard looks at Corvus and Kocino he seems to hesitate to answer before clamming up. That is enough for Corvus to know that perhaps it was Simon. These guards seem done talking but Corvus is sure it must be a direct order.
OOC: If you guys go collect the gold it is 80 gold ^^
(OOC: lol, I was afraid of that. Crummy internet on my end)
(Its almost night right?)
Drezmir lets out a sigh before saying to the guard, "Alright, we understand. But...please, at least let us stay the night. Surely you wouldn't make us leave after dark? We will make preparations this evening, and depart in the morning."
He's hoping that he can buy them some time to sneak into the manor with Gwen. He figures that if Simon proves to be on their side, the noble would help them. If not...well they'd likely either have to leave anyways, or deal with the guards after Simon is dealt with. Either way, if the guards will let them stay the night it would be much easier to move forward with their plans.

If not...well they'd likely either have to leave anyways, or deal with the guards after Simon is dealt with. Either way, if the guards will let them stay the night it would be much easier to move forward with their plans.
( Table talk: Gwen said there's a secret entrance into the manor from the creepy forest. So we don't need to sneak in before we get kicked out of town. We can still infiltrate even if we get kicked out of town. And I'd strongly prefer to not go there until we are fully rested. )
All this talk goes back and forth. As Gulded listens, he realizes that nothing he says will make much difference. So he let's Drez and Corvus do the talking. When Corvus suggest that they go get the bounty for the giant. "Yes, let's do that, then prepare to meet Gwen."
The guard raises an eyebrow at Drezmir and shakes his head.
"On the way to Radiant city is a mountain. Take the mountain path and there is an old woman with an inn. Wayside Manor, you should have time to make it. I'm afraid we can't take any chances. Not with Robin already on the loose. I can give you two.. Three hours tops."
"Sir if you won't arrest them we'll!"
"We'll what? Stand down, we may be down on our luck but we've our honor. A debt repaid, they deserve to leave as free men and women. Did you send men to give Gwen a warning?"
"Grr.. Yes sir, she should be arrested too though."
"We've no proof she turned on her own flesh and blood. Hearsay is not enough."
Afterwards the guards let them go to collect their reward. The guard seems to be arguing with another. The other tried to yank the gold out his hand! He scowls moving his hand back before heading to the party. He comes to the party with a welcome smile throwing them the pouch of gold.
"Here ya are, I don't give a damn what the others say. Far as I'm concerned.. You're god damn heroes around here. This is a damn shame with them running you out this town like common trash. It's almost enough for me to wanna turn in my shield. This is bullshi t and they know it."
OOC: They only hunted the Hill Giants right? Woke up in the morning. Hour and half rest and the travel.. It's more afternoon really.
Jess says to the group (away from anybody who might be listening, perhaps as a tight group in the street),
"It seems we've no options here. We are being forced to leave. It's not fair and it's not right, but it's what's happening. But we might not be done here. Remember what Gwen said about getting into the manor through the forest entrance. What if we make a show of leaving but instead we camp out just inside the forest? Seems like the citizens here avoid the place anyway. Gwen said it should be safe as long as we don't go deep into it. And if we can communicate with Gwen to meet us there, then maybe she can lead us into the manor. I would say tomorrow morning, once we've had a chance to get our strength back after our tussle with the giants and... those others.... Then we can confront Simon and get to the bottom of this, once and for all."
(OOC: I forgot the entrance was out in the forest. Not really sure where I was thinking it was lol. I guess it doesn’t matter if we get kicked out after all.)
Drezmir sighs, but doesn’t push the matter. Now isn’t the time to get into a fight. At least this guard was trying to be reasonable.
“Alright then, thank you.” He smiles, not in defiance. He just wants the guard to know he harbors no hard feelings—at least not towards the captain (I’m supposing this guy is the captain of the guard, or at least someone of authority.). He doesn’t give the others a second glance.
When one of the guards mentions Gwen, he has to stop himself from saying anything. Gwen was not betraying her brother. If they have to do anything to Simon…well, it would be the other way around. Still, getting Gwen involved in this would surely just make their situation worse.
When they receive the reward from the guard for the hill giant, he gives the man a warm smile. “Yes, it’s a shame. But don’t worry about it. We’ll still help out as best we can, even from outside the city borders.”
(OOC: Yeah, that sounds about right. I guess it just felt like longer since we went back and forth a little before going after the giant. Then we fought the cultists too…speaking of which, did we get EXP from fighting the cultists?)

(This is actually what Corvus was thinking as well. He just doesn’t want to say anything about it until the group gets a ways away from the guards)
”Oh, the changing colour. It reflects my emotions most of the time. But yes, we don’t have much time. I recommend we go out as soon as possible, of course, after saying our final goodbyes around here. It will be a long journey, so I hope everyone brought rations.” Vex responds to Sloden. Once he arrives at the guard place with the rest where they got the quest, he takes his 10 gold of the bag and says to the owner of the building in which they got the quest “This may be the last time you see us, as we will make our way to Radiant City and will be gone long before moonlight. Wish us luck, and good luck to you.”
Hearing Jess bring up the entrance makes Kocino think. “We should tell Gwen. It doesn’t sound like she has been arrested. Is it worth it to try and get Robin to assist?”
At the barracks, Kocino takes his share of the reward. “Thank you. Do you think you could have someone fetch Gwen for us? We’d like to say goodbye on our way out of town.”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The guard hears Drezmir say he will still try to help. He leans in to whisper to Drezmir and Drezmir alone as quite as he could. 6 Deception for being quiet.
"Be careful of the Lost Forest at night.. Also if you plan to not head far.. Watch out they don't follow you."
This man gave Drezmir a salute, the badge on his chest seemed similar to Gwen's and he seemed to have an idea of what was going on. He looks to Vex sayin goodbye it was so convincing he wasn't sure if he was pretending to leave or if they had changed their minds. He tilted his head and offered another salute to Vex as well. Kocino had asked the man for Gwen, light enters the mans eyes as he realizes they most likely weren't really going to leave.
"O-Of course!"
As he sets off the group can see several guards watching by the barrack's the streets. Listening.. Watching as best as they could manage. It was probably in awkward or uncomfortable twenty minutes for some as it took some time to get Gwen. Though she was here at last, her hair looked ruffled and she appeared a little more flustered than usual. However she offered the group a smile.
"I hear you're leaving huh? Here let me show you out."
She began to lead the group out, she headed down the "Mountain Path" instead of the forest. As the guards were watching their every move. She had headed down the path for... Well quite some time. It was about dark when she had stopped the group had traveled 12 miles (takes 4 hours in DnD at normal pace just about. So it's getting dark.) she turns and looks at the group taking a deep breath.
"Even if they followed us out here I doubt they'd send the bulk of their force so far from town so we should be able to handle it. I was ordered by one of the Knight's to attack you if you were ambushed. They did say you'd only be ambushed if you lingered to close to town however. I'm not sure if this is far enough but it is getting late. So have you all come up with a plan?"
OOC: As Jess is trying to talk to 7 people on the street all at once without any cautious people hearing. I'd say maybe roll a Deception for that. Or a stealth whatever is higher for you. Unless they head to alleyway and do a perception to make sure they weren't followed etc. For anyone whispering in this public place make a Deception OR Stealth check ^^
I actually forgot the EXP for the Cultist xD Everyone gains 112 EXP! ^^

Sloden being at the back tunes out for a bit and lets his eyes drift til they come to Vex and his colorful display.
"Come on, Vex. Let's start this train rolling for the mountain path."
Once out of the inn, he'll move shoulder to shoulder with him and quietly ask:
"Vex... I'm hardly one to pry, but you seem to have a weird. A knack, maybe? Whatever. A strange color. Are you alright?"
