"The ring of the bear king, eh? I can only imagine what sort of challenge that portends. Well, looks like nowhere to go but west. I'll take the lead. Let's get you drunk again indeed, Hotspur."Cainneach lights his torch, thinking that if there's bright light ahead, no sense in getting ambushed or springing a trap in the darkness in between. He proceeds carefully, examining the floor and walls as he goes.
You walk towards the T-junction. In the bright bar of light thrown across the corridor from the northern branch, you now notice a looming shadow. Someone is waiting just around the next corner. You pause and hold your breath as you study the outline of the shadow. Could it be a robed woman with short cropped hair? A soft, gentle singing reaches your ears...
Cainneach listened to the barely heard words for a moment, almost understanding some snatches....as he listened he noted a slightly chalky feeling in his fingers and looking down saw white chalk dust falling from his hands and arms, his joints were beginning to feel stiff....

(Abort, abort!)
Cainneach's mind reels as he struggles to reconcile the terrifying change in his appearance and motion with the beauty of the music emanating from the figure before him. He attempts to regain his senses and withdraw before he falls further under her spell, calling out to warn his party if he can manage to form the words.
(Let me know if that's a reasonable thing to do or if you want something else - CON save is same roll. If possible, Cainneach will RUN AWAY, RUN AWAY, Knight of the Holy Grail style!)
Thatch brushes a blond curl of hair back from his forehead and follows the others down the hall, wary of the next test. As they near the corner and the singing reaches his ears, he notices the chalky change to Cainneach. Thatch reaches forward and pulls Cainneach back from the intersection, calling a warning to the others “Tana, the helm! Block out the sound of the song, it's dangerous.”
Thatch tried to pull Cainneach back but the wiry woodsman was heavier than he looked however Cainneach seemed to shake off the effects as Thatch grabbed him. His skin and feeling returning to normal.
Tana checks over, ensuring that both Thatch and Dru seem alright before turning her focus to the shadowed figure in the distance. She reaches out with her mind, hoping to nudge into something solid, communicable, and preferably with sentience.
'We do not seek a fight, but we are armed regardless. Reveal yourself from the shadows.'

Hotspur initiative 17
Alarmed by the effect of the siren song on his frenemy, Hotspur rushes to his side singing quiet words into Cainneach's ear, to hopefully help him overcome the spell's effects. (Bardic inspiration die 1d6 to Cainneach)
He'll then begin singing quite loudly (amplified with thaumaturgy) to attempt to drown out the dangerous sounds drifting down the hall.

Hotspurs singing drowns out the strange voice but somehow it kept filtering through the gaps in his voice, creeping through and twisting his words into her own, he felt chalk dust begin to trickle from his face and arms....though he was not as affected as Cainneach had been.

Who is there? They will fall as well.....all will fall. The gods have cursed me for my part and I will curse them...all will pass...Elaine is what I am called. With Morgrin I threw down Vallandar’s kingdom. I drew that feckless knight away so Morgrin could deliver his blow....I did my part! Where is my reward! Die now little mortal sparrow.
Syr Valor drew his blade looking uncertainly at the others, " How can I fight such sorcery?"
He began to move towards the corner even as the others saw chalk dust begin to trickle from within his armour and his movements began to slow...
A figure stepped around the corner, a woman dressed in her archaic rags with a bronze torc about her brow, her flesh was stark white chalkstone and dust trickled from her at every step.
Her voice grew to a crescendo, seemingly snatching the song from Hotspurs lips as she did so.
Bretwald turned to run, his flesh already whitening and crumbling as he slowed to a stagger.
( Con Save DC 14. If you fail you are Restrained. And must make the same roll again next round.)
( Dru still to act and then top of the round again.)

( Con Save DC 14. Cainneach is Restrained. And must make the same roll again next round.)
( Let's all roll Initiative and act if it's higher than 10.)

Oops - cross posted. Will roll and then reconcile. Thatch initiative. 18.
Will keep the same action posted above. Can Thatch pull a restrained Cainneach back and out of the danger area? Athletics if needed: 19.

(I will assume Thatch's roll failed, so I'll try another CON save in case no one else can spring me prior to my turn.)
