Prim checks for others making death saves (& gives healer healing if any) then casts gentle repose on the freshly dead guard & Prof.Aragon. "Probably need someone more skilled at raising the dead than I am to bring them back, but I tried.
Medicine roll of 16 if needed to Id more survivors
The man and the woman lab assistants are the only ones who survived the attack. As you rest, a few FDF personnel come in and begin removing the bodies. The man and woman say "Thank you," to you as they are led away to the infirmary. They leave the dead goblins and hobgoblins for now.
Orion is looting the dead goblins and hobgoblins. He is scratching his head trying to figure where the thieves may have gone with the orb. He asks Prim if she has any ideas about where to go next.
Taxiedea is also searching the dead goblins and hobs for anything of value.

(OOC: the description of a short rest mentions nothing more strenuous than eating, drinking, tending to wounds, etc. Is talking, answering questions, no more strenuous than the other examples so she could answer questions?)
Orion is trying unsuccessfully to hide his feelings about the situation. "Why the f--- didn't the FDF take precautions to prevent this? I mean, weren't they aware that the goblins could set up a portal? They had no mages guarding against this kind of attack?"
Prim speaks with eyes closed, concentrating on her rest. "If I remember correctly, the first time the FDF showed us a captured goblinball, it was in a metal box. Maybe the boxes are the protection against this. And I'm guessing they didn't know the balls could be operated remotely. Did anyone recognize the place visible in the gate?"
History 19 rolled on sheet to recognize the site in the gate. Arcana and Investigation have the same bonus if those are more appropriate, base roll 14 if none of those fit.
"We had no idea they would be able to use the orb from so far away," the surviving man explains. "We only took it out to study it. We had no idea they would be monitoring it somehow."
"Yes," the woman adds as she moves to the table, quickly picks up the orb and drops it back into the chest in which you brought it lying under the table. "It is apparently some sort of arcane focus for multiple spells including teleportation and scrying."
Prim, as you continue to concentrate on your rest, a fleeting recollection of Fort Kill comes to your mind. It seems possible to you that was the place to where the portal went.
"Yes," the woman adds as she moves to the table, quickly picks up the orb and drops it back into the chest in which you brought it lying under the table. "It is apparently some sort of arcane focus for multiple spells including teleportation and scrying."

"That would be Professor James Aragon," he says pointing to a mutilated corpse. "That's him. He was the first one attacked."
