Silas rushed to the fallen Eldeth after the death of the grell. He cast cure wounds to aid in her recovery. He hangs close for the next couple of days, watching for signs of lingering effects.
————————-
When Yuk yuk and Spiderbait appear, he says, “My good gentlemen, you look like people who understand risk and aren’t afraid of a little uncertainty.” He pulls out the card deck that he uses to play Three-Dragon Ante. “Would you be interested in a game of chance? Rather than haggling, perhaps we should let our Lady Luck decide?”
The two goblins look at Silas oddly and shrug. "Nope, we take our chances on the webs, you can take your chances too without us if you like! Last offer!"
"What would that mean, the first shinies we find? Speak clearly or you will suffer our interpretation goblins."The noble drow says, clearly annoyed with not being obeyed by simple goblins.
The goblins speak of shinies, but... there are shinies to be seen? Or all we can see is just a jungle of webs?
Khessa is not too eager to walk on webs, after what happened to Silas last time... She tries to touch the strands with a small piece of rock; the rock gets stuck? Pulling the rock, how easy it is to detach it from the webs? Judging from the result of this experiment, are we at risk to get stuck in the web, walking on them?
Once the grell was defeated, Katryl rushes over to Eldeth. However, as others come to take a look at her, she keeps back so as to not get in the way. She seems pleased to see the dwarf is back on her feet.
"How close are we now? Is there not another way to go," Katryl ask, mostly out of curiosity.
The noble drow stands politely and listens to the blonde humans extensive sermon, smirking slightly at the mention of a kiss. "Are you quite finished?" He asks politely as she finally goes silent again. "Yes, I blame others for ending up here with all of you, but I mostly blame myself for not realizing how they schemed against me, a mistake I will not repeat. I do believe the drow enjoy themselves in many ways, debaucheries you would not even want to hear about innocent one. I never truly considered myself a servant of Lolth though and I am as free as you are, which also won't help us survive in these endless tunnels. I'm quite aware none of you approve of the ways of the drow, but in spite of you seeing us as flawed we have somehow made oursleves the masters of the underdark, and it is only that blasted burning orb in the sky that prevents us from putting the surface world in shackles as well. That said, I do not consider myself a part of drow society at the moment and I will continue to do what I feel is necessary to survive, including teaching you to wield magic. It would require more listening and less talking though. Do you think you can manage that Khessa?" The noble drow finishes with a wry smile.
"I speak (and gladly, I admit) when I have something to say..." shrugs Khessa "... and when I have someone with whom I think it is worth investing the time and energy to talk, of course. Anyway, what I could tell you, I have already told you; what will you do with this (and with your life) it will depend on you. I 'can manage' to listen you; I was doing it already, in fact..." she smiles with anticipation "since I'm pretty sure you 'can manage' to reflect, given enough time. So let's go on with magical gestures!"
And the would-be arcane warrior focuses all her attention on the drow's elegant hand gestures.
'At least he still has nice hands...' is the only non-arcane thought she allows herself while she is immersed in the lesson.
...Congratulations, you all level up to level 2!...
...And after the fierce confrontation with Grell, more determined than ever to develop skills that can help her survive the challenges that abound in this place, Khessa tries and retries the magic formulas she stole from Zer'lan, the drow wizard who he had encountered during her first captivity. The tall adventurer actually realizes that perhaps her crude and awkward gestures were indeed the problem... now that Traydark has helped her perfect that, she feels much more confident, while, without getting discouraged, she makes one attempt after another to usefully combine the magical threads of the Weave.
Until...
"People!" she exclaims, in a choked voice "I feel it, I feel it! I did it! Watch at this!"
She, who has just finished fiddling with a piece of string and a bit of wood, passes the drow lantern she is holding to... thin air? Yet the lantern does not fall! On the contrary, it begins to move as if it had a will of its own.
"Thank you!" she instinctively hugs Traydark. Then she leaves him, sighing: "Yes, I know, you did it only for your own benefit; but it was important to me and you did it well! So thank you! Just don't screw it up by magnifying how much the price that could get by selling me at the nearest slave market has suddenyl risen up, okay?"
After that, more excited than ever, she begins to train on her how to channel the magical energies ... and prepares in her mind the spells with which to continue her adventure.
She is a full-fledged arcane warrior already (although still unarmored), as she finally arrives to the Silken Paths...
The two goblins look at Silas oddly and shrug. "Nope, we take our chances on the webs, you can take your chances too without us if you like! Last offer!"
While the bargain with the goblins goes on, Khessa tskes the time to cast Unseen Servant as a ritual. So she will have the servant with her for the next hour.
Once the servant is ready, while the goblins are distracted by the discussion with Traydark, she gives the remnants of her chains (the chains she has broken to get free) to the servant and nonchalantly has him to place them in the web, quite near the start, so that those will be 'the first shinies' the group will find.
She then, from behind the goblins, furtively winks at the noble drow and nods to the 'shinies' so that he notices them (if he did not already).
"Oh, look, shinies, and they are locked up into a chain for easy carrying. They are all yours gentlemen as the first part of our payment for your services which has yet to be seen. Now show us the way and you will have your gold upon arrival on the other end of the Silken Paths."The noble drow says dryly to the two goblins, then turning to wink back at his blonde student with a brief smile.
"I belive we have another two days to Sloobludoop but unfortunately any detour would likely take us much more time." Traydark turns and says quitely to Katryl in the common tongue.

Pulling the rock, how easy it is to detach it from the webs? Judging from the result of this experiment, are we at risk to get stuck in the web, walking on them?
(Hard to see much from here, but it all expands into a sea of uneven webs as far as you can tell. The webs are as sticky as webs normally are, not exceptionally so. You could surmise that as long as you don't roll around in them you should be able to walk on them, albeit with some difficulty.)
The goblins shrug and pull out some gourds hanging around their sides, "Put this on feet, makes walking easier! Yes yes Sloopidoop not far on other side! But long ways across! Ok ready!? Walk where we walk and stay close!"They bounce back and after slabbing a bit of the greasy batter from the gourds on their feet again, go sliding off onto the webs.
Are you keeping lights up while traveling or staying in the dark? Following the goblins or going on your own?
(Definitely with goblins! Else what the point in making them find 'the shinies' already + promising 1gp after the crossing? Let them guide us. Khessa needs light to see, so, unless the goblins tell us something against it, she will cast Light on a pebble and have her already summoned Unseen Servant keep it, maybe in front of first row, to light the way)
Even with the goblin's help and a bit of slickening of the feet, the trip is not easy, even downright dangerous. As you begin to cross you realize that you cannot see the floor of this cavern, nor can you see the other side, it is just nothing but webs as far as you can see. The immense gorge echoes dimly with muted sounds of cries, skittering and crumbling rock somewhere in the darkness now and then. The two goblins aren't particularly talkative either, instead focused on picking their way through the webs in the most efficient manner they can. It becomes obvious after a bit that they have every intention of getting you to the other side, no matter how long that takes.
After walking in painstaking fashion along the precious strands for going on ten hours, there is a sudden snap, as the particular strand some of you are standing on breaks and threatens to drop some of you to the next level of webs below you!
(Katryl, Khessa and Silas all need to make DEX saving throws!)
Although quite used to spiders, Traydark has never had to slide across webbings like the Silken Paths before. Looking down, it troubles him that he hasn't mastered the art of levitation yet. As the strand snaps the noble drow lunges forward to try to save whoever is closest. (Can Traydark give someone advantage on the dex roll?)
Khessa is more and more nauseated by this constant repetition of cobwebs everywhere: 'Where the heck did they think they would find shinies in a place like this, those stupid goblins?!'
And that's how she, distracted by such thoughts, doesn't even notice that the particular strand she is standing on breaks! She is simply suddenly in free fall...
(OOC: If, as I imagine, the failure of the saving throw results in a fall, Khessa casts Feather Fall as reaction, slowing her own as well as everyone else's fall - we endangered are 3, the spell can affect up to 5... One cast can affect all)
