Thanks to your quick thinking and the help of your allies, the mimic is summarily executed in a devastating flurry of attacks! (end initiative)However, the excitement and blows has left the webs your are on even more precarious! Better hold on...
Everyone make aDEX saving throw. DC 13or fall to the next level of webs--there are several levels before you are in danger of plummeting to the floor of the gorge. Those of you who still have feather fall on them may make the save at advantage.
(I'd love to have advantage on the save, because I'd really need it, but nobody can; duration of Feather Fall is 1 minute, but 'If the creature lands before the spell ends, it takes no falling damage and can land on its feet, and the spell ends for that creature.' - we all have landed already in the webs, so nobody has the spell active anymore. Rolling a straight save)
Khessa, who had just finished clearing herself of the cobwebs before being grappled from the wayward chest, breathes a sigh of relief when the monster, who was bringing an unpleasantly large, tooth-bristling mouth close to her breast, twitches and gives way under the hail of blows which it took.
"Thank you for the help, people!" the blue eyed woman smiles to all her companions.
But immediately after the blonde arcane warrior takes note her messy state: "Oh, good!" she exclaims, sacrastic, realizing that the brief contact with the repulsive creature has left her soaked in several places with a terribly sticky material "I guess I'll have to clean myself again... Since I've been in this place forgotten by the light, sometimes I found myself dreaming of a hug... but not one of this kind!"
The tall adventurer, however, does not even have time to try to improve her condition: part of the web system, damaged by the fierce battle, begins to yield again in several places!
Khessa desperately grabs hold of as many strands of web as she can and discovers that sticky material has advantages too, after all: thanks to that is easier for her to hold on to and avoids falling even further down.
Her blue eyes look around in concern, trying to see if any of the others are less fortunate than her... and what awaits them below!
Buppido begins to brag about the blow he landed: "Hey! Did you see that hit, guys!? I hit him right between the eyes, that disgusting monster..."
(Actually, he's not quite sure if he saw that the monster actually had eyes, much less where they were... but if the monster is dead, his blow must have been decisive, right? So the Derro glosses over these details...)
"Hey! But what the f..." Buppido exclaims, suddenly feeling another section of web give way... but he is quick enough to snap away and find safety on a more solid mass of strands.
"That was close!" he says "How about we all get out of here quickly, guys?"
With great relief, Khessa notes that most of her companions have managed to find some solid foothold. Only Ebzer and Eldeth have fallen but they are still on the same level as her... no one has fallen even further below.
"Ebzer, Eldeth," the blonde arcane warrior approaches cautiously, helping them to get up (or to free themselves from the web, if they ended up entangled) "are you all right, friends? Come on, we'll all be back up there together soon".
"We have just seen tha by grouping too much or by moving too abruptly all together, we risk weakening and eventually breaking the web strands. So, that's what I'd say: you above" she raises her blue eyes to those wo managed not to fall from the upper level "try to hold everyone the rope"(OOC: if Ebzer's rope fell with him, Khessa can throw it up again - or throw her own)"but without grouping, keep some distance... It should be easy, the rope is long"(OOC: the rope is 60' long)"With you all holding the rope, yuo'll have no problem withstanding the weight even of the heavier of us".
"As for us below, let's try to stand still and move only one at a time" advises the tall adventurer. "One at a time, we come to the rope and try to climb. I, being the tallest, can stay near the rope and try to push you further or otherwise help you starting the climb"(OOC: hoping to grant advantage on the other's climb checks)"At last, I try to climb up myself. Hopefully, we will soon be all up together, ready to continue our so charming journey".
"Okay? Let's try this?" Khessa asks for confirmation.
And if no one raises objections: "Come on then! Who goes up first?"
Up above the noble drow scoffs as the clumsy dwarves expectedly plummets down into the next layer of the endless spider web. Looking down at the pitiful squirming creatures he couldn't fathom how their wretched race had survived to this day, but there was obviously something to be said for stubbornness and being oblivious to how hopeless one's future is.
"Shushaar, make yourself useful! Buppido, help him!"Traydark says to the serene but strong kuo-toa and the deranged derro, motioning for them to hold the rope to allow the others to climb up again.
Athletics/Strength for Shushaar with help from Buppido assuming they are prepared to help out: 11
(OOC: To summarize: DM wrote (before the mimic fight), regarding climbing up with the rope 'make an athletics or acrobatics check, your choice' - Khessa is helping now, so the roll should be made with advantage - Silas, Katryl , Eldeth, Ebzer you all should be free to try (we assume you come one at a time to lessen chances to weaken the web even more). Khessa must be the last - or she will not be able to grant advantage once she is up. Let's roll and get up! If I'm overlooking something or writing something wrong, please DM correct me)

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
