Yes, those are apparently drainage grates. If Marnoa would like to take a closer look, he certainly can. From where he is standing, he cannot quite make out the writing.
Upon entering the cave, Fuego will cast produce flame causing a small ball of fireto float in his hand. Using the light thus shed, he will advance slowly toward the door until he can inspect the writing.
Andre is currently somewhere near the back of the group in hopes of not getting hurt anymore than he already is after the Wombat encounter (side note... who is in charge of healing around here?)

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
Marnoa is perhaps 5 feet forward of where he is on the map, taking it all in with a puzzled expression on his face. He is looking at the ground and the grates thinking “What the hell?” and then looks over at Jacks starting to do his work.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.

Morty will give you a 7hp healing word. Don't want to use up too much yet
When Fuego noticed the tripwire, he stopped before stepping over it. He mulls over tripwire plus drainage grates and blurts out, "Do not activate the trap! This room will probably fill up with water or slime or wombat pee or something!"
(Jacks, mage hand only produces one hand and for disarming traps you generally need two. Tripping the wire just takes one, but that sets off the trap, which you may not want to do. If you want to disable the wire with mage hand without setting it off, you’ll need to roll with disadvantage)
"When you cast mage hand, you can make the spectral hand invisible, stow or retrieve objects, or use thieves’ tools to pick locks and *disarm traps at range.*")
(Ah! That's it. Sorry about that. Carry on, Jacks. I'm going to say that for those particular actions, you get a second spectral hand.)
Jacks stops and concentrates for a moment. After he is finished, the party can see that Jacks has somehow cut the wire and tied the two cut ends to new anchors, allowing the tension to remain. The path to the door is no longer blocked by the wire.
Fuego releases the breath he was holding as Jacks fiddled with the wire. "Good work!" he says gratefully, and now, more warily, approaches the door and the inscription, flame held aloft.
"When you cast mage hand, you can make the spectral hand invisible, stow or retrieve objects, or use thieves’ tools to pick locks and *disarm traps at range.*")
(( Yes, that's right. I should've been more clear. ))
Jacks blond brows furrow in concentration, as the tripwire is carefully disarmed, he nods in satisfaction. Following Fuego's lead, he approaches the door and peers curiously at the inscription. His curiosity piqued, he turns to Andre's comment with a small grin. "Maybe there is a wombat devil behind all this," he muses, a hint of amusement in his voice. "Perhaps it has beady little eyes and sharp, pointed claws like a mole, or maybe it has a sleek, furry body with a long, bushy tail like a fox. Who knows?"
Andre speaks up... and surprisingly, he actually says something pretty clever. He may not be a genius, but it turns out that you actually have to be kind of smart to be a wizard.
"Sounds like it's askin' for a blood sacrifice," Andre says. "Ya know, since blood is life, it's full of iron, and it tends to hurt to take it out of a person..."

Upon entering the cave, Fuego will cast produce flame causing a small ball of fire to float in his hand. Using the light thus shed, he will advance slowly toward the door until he can inspect the writing.
As Fuego moves forward, he notices a tripwire stretched between the two sides of the cave in the eastern half.

Noticing the tripwire after Fuego pointed it out, Jacks summons his mage hand and attempts to disable to trap from a distance.

Jacks, what is it exactly that you are doing? Are you tripping the wire or something else?
Can everyone tell me where they are at this moment?

"Good work, my man!" Andre says. "Now let's go beat the devil out of whatever is in here."

"I can't wait to see it in all it's monstrosity"
The party approaches the door and can now read the inscription, written in flaming letters, on the wall above the basin on the pedastal.
It reads: "Feed me life, feed me iron, feed me pain"
