Demoiselle and Quill: The room marked "Livery" has wooden shelving running along three walls with several different clothing types, all in simple, muted colors. There are maid and footman uniforms available for the two of you. As you are finishing the last adjustments to your disguises in the livery room, you hear a stern older woman's voice call out from just down the hallway, "Pansy, is that you? You'd best bring his Lordship his dinner in his study. The last of the council members have arrived, so bring extra. And step lively, girl!" Then her footsteps fade away.
Esvaris: There are two exits on the far wall, one on the far left side of the wall past the upright piano and the other on the far right, near the fireplace where the people are gathered.
Korlan: The cake was well made, but you've stolen...err.. tasted better in wealthier homes. The Atterley family, while well-to-do, are clearly the type who were not born to high position, but fought their way up. While Esvaris is focused on finding an exit and maintaining an appearance of aloofness, you notice the slight sound of something hitting the floor of the ceiling above you.
"Hmm? What is it servant boy?" When I hear it, "oh yes, we must go... find. the. art...gallery?," I try to sound like a rich person. I leave through the nearer of the 2 exits.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Quill nods as Demoiselle leaves.
"I'll start looking for our own Dawnlord. And with Lord Atterley occupied, I actually may not want this uniform,"he mutters. He exits the livery and starts heading in a different direction from Demoiselle, in his clerical robes. He stays away from the loud areas as best he can.
Perception as he tries to look and listen for any signs of Dawnlord Wintermoon: 17
Quill reaches the stairs at the other end of the hall without encountering anyone. The only noises he hears are people working in the kitchens down the hall he originally entered from and people moving around in the mansion. While looking carefully as he moves down the hall, he finds a door that blends neatly into the paneling at the junction of the two hallways. He overlooked it the first time he passed through. It seems to be a servant entrance to the rest of the main floor. There is no handle, but there are marks where it has been repeatedly pressed on one side. The other side opens into a grand hall. You see the inside of the front doors with a footmen standing at attention nearby to receive guests. There is a grand staircase going up to your right and two more doorways on the far side of the hall. There are several ornate pillars and large plants in stone pots around the room. In the center, on a covered platform about waist high, is an open coffin made of gorgeous oak wood.
Esvaris: Your odd response raises a few eyebrows from the women seated nearby. You hear one of the older women ask, "Do you know him?" quietly to her companion.
The other older woman scoffs and says with a sneer, "Of course not. Must be 'new money', just like Atterley, himself. Pretending to the high position of his betters."
The first woman hides a scandalized, but amused, gasp behind her black gloved hand. "Gladys! How shocking! We mustn't speak ill of the dead, you know."
Gladys cooly sips her tea and replies, "Who ever said I was speaking of the dead one?" This is followed by chuckles and titters from the group.
Through the doorway you enter a large dining room. The heavy table is loaded with fine foods and drinks of every kind. There is another open door on the far side, through which you can see a large hall and the start of a wide staircase leading upwards.
Esvaris: As you enter the large hall and move toward the staircase, you see the same things that Quill saw in the great hall, including the open coffin on the raised fine cloth-draped platform. En route to the stairs, you pass by it and see the elder Lord Atterley, the coffin over-sized to accommodate his large girth. His face looks peaceful and pale, his lips are slightly tinted a faint, unnatural, greenish color. At the top of the stairs there is a landing that splits left and right to two open doorways and double wooden doors directly in front of you. The sound of men's voices comes from the other side of the double doors.
I hope this is all true about Wintermoon. If this is completely wrong, I may want to re-state/re-do this.
Quill stares at the casket for a moment, though he doesn't enter the room it is in.
"Poor man,"he mutters, ducking back into the room he came from.
This is taking too long, Quill thinks. But, wait! I can locate him with that spell. Er, no. That only works on objects. But his holy symbol! He carries it around everywhere, and I've seen it many times.
Quill laughs inwardly, remembering how impressed he had been as a poor young boy, first meeting Dawnlord Wintermoon and seeing the (then so fancy to Quill) amulet of Usoara. Then Quill grasps his own amulet in both hands, closes his eyes, and casts Locate Object, targeting Dawnlord Wintermoon's holy symbol.
"Please let me find it, and Dawnlord Wintermoon with it!"he prays silently.
Esvaris: The noise was coming from above the room you first entered, so you easily ascertain that it must be somewhere through the doorway to your right.
Quill: A tugging sensation arises in your chest. You feel a mystical pulling from the second floor across the great hall from where you are standing. Through the partially open door panel you see Esvaris, dressed in rich noble's clothing, heading up the stairs to the second level.
I follow behind Esvaris looking like his servant before we’re out of sight of the others. On the way up, I stop and take a moment with Lord Atterly. I pay my respects and pray for him before continuing up the stairs.
Esvaris and Quill: Through the archway you find yourself at one end of a long hallway leading off to your right. On the right hand wall are several large portraits. Along the left wall are three wooden doors. The middle one is slightly ajar.
Korlan notices what a pretty home this is as he follows Esvaris upstairs.
Esvaris: There is no sound coming from the first or third doors. From within the middle door, which is slightly open, you hear subtle sounds of someone opening and closing wooden drawers, shifting papers, etc. It seems as if whoever is doing this is attempting to do it somewhat quietly.

I will walk through the room without so much as a glance at the people about me. Do I see an exit to the room? (besides the one I cam in through)

Not yet, more pretending we have the right to be here looking for said costumes.

”psssst!” I say trying to get Esvaris’s attention. I look up at the ceiling trying to guage my position within the house. “Do you hear that?”

"Well!", Demoiselle whispered to Quill, "Looks like luck is on our side for now." 'Pansy' went to go get his Lordship and company their dinner.

Which option puts me in the direction of the sound Korlan and I heard?

"Ah, sir?" he says to Esvaris, standing with his back to the footmen. He grins at Esvaris.
