I have been considering modifying the "pile of rags" as I believe it's attack is to powerful for it's other abilities to realized. Here's what I propose..
Change the Slam damage from 2d6+2 to 1d6+2
Making the Wrap action a bonus action instead of a regular action on it's next turn.
Let me know if you want me to make these changes, and if yes do you want me to reconstruct the fight or start over with Laladak entering the room?
Laladak slashes at the animated pile of rags, but misses.
The pile of rags then slams into Laladak Attack: 17 Damage: 7 as the rags pummel Laladak the individual rags surround him and grapples him, becoming like a second set of skin or armor. Laladak is restrained until he escapes the grapple.
Laladak stands up. His battle aura, made visible by divine magic, morphs into the unfamiliar skyline of Beeftown. He walks toward the Skulk, "If you wanted to rumble you could have just asked"
Laladak will second wind. 11
Then use his remaining movement to flank the Skulk and serve him a
BEEFTOWN CHOP: 12 Damage: 18
You have already used your second wind in the fight with the transparent skulk (not sure if you have had a short rest since, and don't have time right now to check, this is post 593 on page 30 if someone wants to check)
As Laladka enjoys the short rest he is startled by the movement of the Skulk. He looks down at the translucent creature and speaks slow and loudly, "WHO-PUT-YOU-DOWN-HERE?"
So Laladak did state he took a short rest so I will let you take the second wind, but for future reference the rules state
A short rest is a period of downtime, at least 1 hour long, during which a character does nothing more strenuous than eating, drinking, reading, and tending to wounds.
So from this point on a short rest will be at least an hour.
I'm going to wait for Shadow opinion before deciding if I will change things, as right now its 2 to change (Alben and Tyris) and 1 to leave it (Laladak).
But in the meantime Laladak reroll the second wind.
(Ok Laladak I just looked at the dice roll and you had input 1d10 + 3 instead of 1d10 + 1. You rolled a 9, so you gained back the 7 you lost, I had missed the third line with the second wind when you originally posted. You did survive the last hit :) Sorry.)
Still waiting for Shadows opinion on the changes

(2d6+2 does seem rather strong against level 1s combined with the grapple/wrap. On a good damage roll it could knock any of us out in one shot.)
(If we quickload back and have its damage at 1d6+2 we will be contending with a grapple every round, which I would be ok with)
That would be 17 damage (but I'm waiting for your response to my above question before I drop you)
(Keep the damage. Lets finish this monster or have this monster finish us. I am currently fully HP because I second winded.)
I got alot a doods
BOOM! Still standing.
