Esa begins to fly back to their path, before stopping and glancing back over her shoulder, a wild ook on her face. "Besides," she adds, "it's quite exhilarating knowing someone is praying to you each night, isn't it?"
Vakiel, Esa, Grimbald, and RL get back to Albridge a bit before sunset. They are welcomed back across the bridge and meet up with Augustin who tells them about the dragonborn from Dythan's Legion.
They deliver Old Kellar's drawing to Dar Gremath and give him their report. He thinks everyone should wait for Alesia Gravelstoke to arrive before making any concrete plans.
Vakiel will attempt to catch some fireflies if any can be found. (For his cantrip)
Once done, he’s back to the Inn. He’s feeling torn… running solo has worked so well for him for so long, but working as part of a group again and helping the villagers work the fields has brought back memories of years many, many (many!) moons ago. He is seeking not the normal anonymity a crowd offers him - but rather general chatter to engage in.
Vakiel gets a firm thump on the back as he is about to have a mouthful of ale, spilling a good amount. "Can't handle your drink hey Vakiel? No fear, I have another. Don't mind if I join ya?" as he sits down and plonks 4 draughts down. "First round on me"
RL would like to spend a little bit of time maintaining his spell components as well. Nothing major required since he has the gilded acorn.
After that he will wander around and see what is happening in town and will probably end up at the inn sitting at the table with Vakiel and Grimbald but not participating in the drinking, merely looking at the people all around and trying to work out the right way to behave in a crowd like an inn.
”I dare say I’ve had few more years of practice than you young squirrel.” Vakiel grabs 2 of the ales “So what next? Do we trust the Gravelstokes to do right by the townsfolk? To do right by us? Their history family history is full of spies and assassins”
"You know I'm not the brains of this unit right? I dunno, I've been made a fool too many times, placing my trust where it doesn't belong. They night have other agendas, but they have been solid allies to this point. At least they're not turning people into devils... that I know of" Grimbald let's out an extended belch, a sign of appreciation of the ale and request for more.
RL stops to think about Vakiels question for quite a long time. Thinking strategically about people is new for RL. He looks around the inn for Rome inspiration on how to reply, he must admin the bards do sound good, pity about the bad singing from the crowd but RL guesses that's the correct behaviour.
"I find that time will resolve the issue for us, it always does in the forest. If there is a branch you are unsure of you keep an eye on it to see if it breaks in the cold or the storm. Either it does or it doesn't".
As for Augustin and Esa, maybe they both went to visit marigold for whatever healing she provides.
Esa goes to check on Augustin in bed. If he isn't there resting, she sits angrily on a bedpost, arms and legs crossed, staring at the door waiting for him to come back so she can chastise him.
After that, she will fill Augustin in on everything that happened. It's hard, she normally doesn't pay too much attention to things not directly involving herself, but knowing he wasn't going to be attending, she tried to listen more carefully. Once he's up to speed, she informs him he needs to find her a new quill.
Finally, she checks on his injuries, making sure they are healing well. "If you're not going to stay put, what do you want to do? We can go find a drink or a card game somewhere around here."
There's a dice game going on at the inn. Some people win, most lose. The guy running the game makes no secret that the odds are against you, but if you win, you will double your money. If you want to alter the odds even more against you, then you can triple your money.
The gambler running the game is a flamboyant human male with a thick black moustache, short black hair, a prominent nose and brown eyes. He has crooked teeth on display with his wide smile. You can see a harp nearby, so likely he is an entertainer of sorts, but probably makes more money with his gambling scheme. He seems friendly and personable, and seems good humoured when he loses and doesn't rub it in when he wins.
(If you want to play, highest die roll wins - roll a d20 with disadvantage, the gambler will roll normally. If you win you double your wager. If you want to triple your wager, then you roll with disadvantage and he rolls with advantage.)

Esa throws 20 Iron Bits onto the table and, after assessing how big the dice are compared to her, decides to use Mage Hand to roll. She blows on tem for good luck, before rolling. 7 and a 19

Vakiel watches the boy leaving then turns to Esa when she mentions her quill “will that be a problem we need to know about?”
"Not at all. It's just a regular quill."
"Full of surprises that one, Death wish with a dash of kindness"

There's a few fireflies around still. They don't like the rain usually, so they can be harder to find as the year heads towards winter.

"I was ... just curious of your thoughts on the matter. RL, what are your thoughts?"
Vakiel will catch RL's arm as he goes to imitate the drunkards starting up their version of Ye old Karaoke
"And does anyone know where Augustin & Esa have gotten to?"

The gambler, who introduces himself as Fredrick Quicksilver, rolls his dice 17.
"Oh bad luck little miss," says Fredrick. "It's the luck of the dice. Would you like to make another wager? Surely your luck will change."
Esa shrugs. "Not much else to do now, is there?" 6 and 11
Fredrick roll his dice 4.
