Esa'sfire bolt takes out one of the wounded bullywugs who was trying to manoeuvre behind Augustin, it collapses to the ground croaking feebly and then lies still.
Vakiel's sword chops into another wounded bullywug, it dies without a sound.
There is just the one bullywug left, completely unmarked somehow, but looking like it wants to run. Stryke'sthorn whip lashes out but the creature manages to fend it off with its shield.
The chieftain in the dragonskull croaks a command, probably realising the bullywug is on the edge of fleeing and then it would be all alone having to face the party. Everyone has moved away from the dragonskull now, so the chieftain cannot lash out with its longspear.
Augustin engages the remaining bullywug, stepping in and swinging.
That dice roll is borked. It didn't add Grimbald's proper bonus for some reason. Maybe user error.
It rolled a 10. Grimbald's bonus with a hand crossbow is +7 so 17 is a hit. It did 5 damage but won't let me look at the roll, so I'm calling shenanigans on that too.
Augustin is going to cautiously approach the chieftan in the skull with the intention to grab the spear when old mate tries to stab him with it to disarm him and hopefully leave him a little more useless.
Esa realises the chieftain has dealt with the fey before and the large bullywug drops his gaze quickly and croaks something to himself in a rhythmic pattern, as if giving his mind to focus on while he wrestles with the spear. He finally wrenches it back, but, to Esa's surprise the chieftain - while avoiding eye contact with the fairy - carefully puts the spear down, and hunches down as if trying to make himself looks small. It looks like he is trying to put himself in a position of non-confrontation to perhaps negotiate, or maybe to surrender, Esa is not sure.
The bullywug chieftain has a crown of sorts made of dried grass and reeds. Inside the dragonskull there is a chest that definitely was not made by bullywugs, and a metal shield with the symbol of the Iron Circle on it.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Augustin tries speaking to the creature to encourage him to remove himself the the cage and leave his weapon. He offers a level of safety if he plays the game. He beckons for him to leave the weapons and come out the skull.
The bullywug chieftain does not speak common, but understands. He does grab the shield but leaves the spear. He motions that you have to lift the dragonskull a bit for him to get out, obviously his troops did this so he could get in.

The bullywug staggers from the blow, it is hurt, but not down.
Grimbald shifts his hunter's mark to the remaining bullywug and has a shot with his hand crossbow.
Attack: 9 Damage: 11
Not sure why it does that. Let me try again for Grimbald's shot.
Attack: 13 Damage: 10

Grimbald drops the last of the bullywug troops with his hand crossbow. There is just the chieftain hiding in his dragonskull. It's gone quiet.
Stryke offers guidance for anyone to do a peception check since he is at disadvatnage due to missing an eye.

Esa hesitantly moves back to Augustins shoulder.
"My charm didn't work, so be careful."
Esa, can you detect magic at all?

Augustin flexs a bit before giving the whole lifting thing a go. He asks if anyone wants to/is able to help before giving it a go.
