He sees several large tables and desks littered with mildewed tomes, dusty bottles, and loose leaves of parchment. Some of the furniture is completely unusable with age. Near an iron-bound set of double doors stand two cages. It looks like maybe there were undead guardians here once, but now they lie smashed and battered on the ground, broken bones scattered everywhere.
Grimbald waves an 'follow gesture' to the party, then realises he likely can't be seen. He heads back up the stairs and whispers what he sees before descending into room
RL with Esa on his shoulder will follow Grimbald into the room and take up position behind the table near the stairs and just for kicks will ritually cast detect poison and disease
Vakiel will come down the stairs and start looking over the bones to see if anything of use remains. He would look at the desks but anything on them will likely mean nothing to him.

As the party comes down the stairs, there's a bit of stirring of the bones, then the stirring becomes a swirl, then the bones are swept up in a whirlwind that move towards each other and then combine in a big swirling swarm of bone and debris. The swarm alternates its appearance between partially formed humanoid shapes and a chaotic, swirling mass.
Grimbald fires his crossbow with Dread Ambusher Attack: 12 Damage: 11 . Assuming the room is dark and he is invisible to the skeleton mass he will skirt around (staying out of melee range) up to 35 foot and behind the mass (as if flanking)

Esa flies 15ft into the air and casts Faerie Fire, aiming to get as many skeletons as possible. She will then call out "Skeletons!"

Some of the bones crumble as they succumb to the radiant damage from RL's spell. Seems to be many more left though.

Vakiel knocks some bones out of the swirling mass, but he didn't do as much damage as he would have if he were hitting flesh and blood.
The swirling mass of sharp bones and detritus engulfs both Augustin and Vakiel.

The skeletal swarm moves through Vakiel, leaving the barbarian in its wake, undamaged, while it seems to be focusing on Augustin.
Vakiel can use his reaction to make an opportunity attack on the skeletal swarm. (Because the skeletal swarm rolled a natural 1 attacking Vakiel).
Party turn!
Augustin shouts out and looks for the largest part of the skeleton swarm and takes a huge swing!
