RL would like to talk to Reithann when he can find a quiet five minutes about getting his eye fixed so that hes not a burden on his party any more. What would it take for Regenerate to be cast?
Reithann considers. "I do not know anyone who can cast that spell except... hmm.. leave it with me. If we survive this battle I will do some reading and see if we can help you."

Thank you Reithann. I look forward to talking to you more later both about this and about nature in general.
<rummaging through his pockets for silver coins> to the Smithy it is. grimbald hopes to dip some bolts in silver.Grimbald personally has 14 silver pieces for melting down.
While they appreciate Vakiel's efforts and respect his strength and resilience, they don't see any of those qualities in themselves and are worried about the battle.
9Successes, 2 failures. The next skill check determines some significant effects on the battle tomorrow. No pressure.

Kathrid the dwarf blacksmith listens to Grimbald.
"We can't do melee weapons, the silver has to be part of the forging. But dipping arrow heads and crossbow bolt heads in silver, that is totally doable. I'll talk to Gerrad, the village Elder. Surely he can get some silver coins from the village treasury. I'll put word out."
Over the course of the day Gerrad the white haired halfling bullies, cajoles, and pleads with the businesses of the town to give up their silver pieces, giving them a promissory note from the village as a government entity to repay 75% of whatever they can donate. By late afternoon Kathrid is melting down silver coins, purifying the silver, then dipping the pointy end of as many crossbow bolts and arrow heads as she can. By midnight about half of the available arrows and crossbow heads are coated in pure silver. Word has gotten around about the devils, and having some hope that there are weapons to combat them has a remarkable positive effect on morale.
DM's Note: I'm going to count this as an auto-success for the skill check. The skill challenge is a success!

DId we still have the chest with 140 silver in or did we give that to the village already? either way it should provide some silver for this purpose
RL would not be able to do this but just for kicks I though I would have a go. Shameless re-wording from Winston Churchill's on the beaches speech. Grimbalds speech just above inspired it.
I have, myself, full confidence that if all do their duty, if nothing is neglected, and if the best arrangements are made, as they are being made, we shall prove ourselves once again able to defend our home, to ride out the storm of war, and to outlive the menace of tyranny, if necessary for years, if necessary alone. At any rate, that is what we are going to try to do. That is the resolve of the Bag of Nuts, every one of them. That is the will of the gods and the nature. The people of Albridge and the people of the province of Harken, linked together in their cause and in their need, will defend to the death their native soil, aiding each other like good comrades to the utmost of their strength. Even though large tracts of Harken and many old and famous States have fallen or may fall into the grip of the Iron Circle and all the odious apparatus of Iron Circle rule, we shall not flag or fail. We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in Harkenwood, we shall fight on the forests and fields, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our land, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender, and even if, which I do not for a moment believe, this Island or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our Empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the Harkenwood Elves, would carry on the struggle, until, in God's good time, the New World, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old.
RL's speech which is given as people are queuing up to have at least some of their arrow heads and crossbow bolt heads dipped in silver, is well received.
When he is finished their is a rousing cheer, and excited talk. RL hears snatches of conversation, such as "he's right! This is OUR lands, we will fight!" and "The Iron Circle will rue the day they tried to invade the Harkenwold," and "what's an odious apparatus?", quickly followed by "oh, err.. it's a smelly machine, like that threshing machine I tried to invent that didn't work."
Augustin would like to raise interest from a few, well bodied individuals to launch a pre-emptive strike on those on the March towards us.
He would like to consult for the following:
The leaders of each faction if they can spare a person and those in the war-room, to determine if we can halt or slow the advance and if there's even any benefit.
The party, how and what we are going to do and manage when the time comes?
The party, if they see any benefit on being proactive? Do we even know what's coming, with scouts etc
Can we have the elves set up like a strike team, I would really like to see a few volleys of arrows go into the Iron Circle camp and really mess up there days. Even better if we can set something on fire. He recognises that we may not be the best for that job.
Augustin would like to see if there is anything more that can be done/achieved by those in charge of this whole operation and if not would like to be seen by as many villages proactively helping with the little tasks as possible, real man of the people stuff. He 100% brags to groups of children about how he wrestled a drake, and won.
Dar Gremath thinks a reconnaissance mission should be done, but only by those who are stealthy. And to pull back if they are detected. If the reconnaissance mission identifies targets for a pre-emptive strike then that could go ahead. Time is against you now though.

The advance will come from the villages of Marl and Dardun, Iron Circle troops leaving there will take about 90 minutes to march to Albridge.
Tomorrow, Dar Gremath would like the party to act as a reserve, to shore up any holes in the defence as this is where the strongest enemies will make themselves known. Then at some point, if the battle goes our way, the party can go on the offensive, find the leaders and cut them down.

Other options to consider are going on the offensive, and finding targets of opportunity. Or act purely in defence or protection - guarding Dar Gremath or a flank or at the front with other troops taking the brunt of the attack.
Esa suggests that as she has learnt Invisibility and can fly, she could possibly act as an aerial scout. If she spots something, she could create a Minor Illusion of an arrow pointing anyone or anything out that needs attention.
RL suggests a team meeting to work out what we want to do. Do we go and try to take out the Iron Circle leader in this area to forestall the attack, do we play defensive, do we try to flank the Iron circle, or act as a reserve as requested?
While walking to have your meeting you see Reithann the elderly druid having an animated conversation with Dar Gremath. As ever her apprentices Lorel and Theran are a few paces behind. As you get closer you hear Reithann saying "..and now I have several families of ravens at my grove. They tell me they are being shot at in great numbers and have come to me for safety. What in the world are you doing? You can't kill every family of ravens just in case they are an imp!"
"Um excuse my interruption, but that would be my fault. we had to tell everyone of the threat of imps... and give them something. I had no idea of the families of ravens in town. I fear I have caused their deaths"
Reithann sighs and turns to Dar Gremath. "Well?" she says.
"Very good, I'll send out word but it might take time to get around," he replies.
Reithann and her two disciples turn on their heels and walk back in the direction of her Grove. Dar Gremath turns to face the party. As he does so there is the sound of a crossbow releasing a bolt, followed by a squawk. A Raven skewered by a crossbow lands at Dar Gremath's feet. There is a cheer from behind you. Dar Gremath looks at them, then looks at Gimbald with a hard stare. Then he walks off.
Reithann considers. "I do not know anyone who can cast that spell except... hmm.. leave it with me. If we survive this battle I will do some reading and see if we can help you."

Grimbald prefers the reserve option, shore up against the greatest threat, and pursue the leaders if all goes well.
And NEVER split the party, no more than 90ft apart.
