Hearing Eila fall, Jade turns to help..****y to see that Elliðaey has beaten her to it. At Niska's warning Jade turns again, suddenly aware that her shield is still laying back at the mouth of the cave.
Feeling vulnerable, Jade uncharacteristically draws her longsword and holds it in a two-handed grip. She moves to the center of the path to block the approaching eyes...
Katarina moves down the mountain easily. Her cat reflexes ignoring the difficult terrain. She comes to where Eila fell, does she he'll or continue after Jade? Katarina also sees Niska with her bow out. The bleary-eyes glowing in the darkness.
As Niska spoke Millicent drew a torch from her satchel, it burst into light as she held it high, struggling to her feet.
" What is it?"
( Druidcraft)
Millicent is in the cavern behind the party. She's unable to see them only hear Niska's warning!
"I...I think they're wolves...but...they aren't...natural," Niska replies in Millicent's and then everyone's minds in succession.
Everyone within 30ft of Niska can smell death. The wolves are 60ft away, just on the edge of their dark vision. Niska whoever seems to see exceptional well in the darkness!

Sometimes a Nat 1 tells a better story than a Nat 20 ever could.
Eila accepts the hand up from Elliðaey with just a simple nod and gets back to her feet. Ignoring Niska's instruction she steps to the front and left of the ranger with one hand on her hammer and the other on her holy symbol, having also left her shield aside in the scramble. She's very much able to see the moving shapes ahead thanks to her divinely extended darkvision, much as the storm obscures the details.
"Undead?" she shouts over the howling winds to the paladin across the slopes, if only to confirm her fears given the stench of rot.
Katarina keeps going past Eila, since Elliðaey is already helping. Katarina thinks that the best thing she can do to help is keep the monsters at bay. She slides to a stop next to Jade, drawing her sword and shield as she does so.

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
The wolves are in a semi circle cutting off the exit down the mountain side and trying to pin the party into the cavern and the perilous drop into inky black on the other side of the cavern! As previously stated Niska was 60ft ahead and as been disintegrated while the wolves are closing in that 60ft. The orb floats above the ground about 15ft and is behind the wolves 10ft so in total 85ft away from the party. The mountain is difficult terrain, it's raining still with flashes of lightening.
Unaware of what's just occurred behind her, Eila snaps the holy symbol of Ilmater from her neck and wraps the cords around her hand. She marches as swiftly as she dares in the loose rock shouting the incantation for Faerie Fire over the howling winds to bring forth a space of dusky twilight that seems to settle on the orb and some of the wolves like sunlit dust.
(OOC: Casting FF on a space just in front and below the Orb such that the 20x20 cube catches the orb on it's back edge, and it'll also catch at least some wolves since they're 10ft ahead. DC 14 DEX save. Will give ADV to us and make them glow so millicent can see them on a fail)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Katarina's blade connects with wolf 1. Yet the damage doesn't seem to do the damage it usually does on this undead beast!
Elliðaey looks in horror at the ash pile remains of Niska and moves forward pointing her spear towards the line of wolves beside that of the one Katarina attacked, tl avoid her friend, casting lightning bolt. Her spear flashes with arcane runes creating a brilliant arch of energy causing 29 of lightning damage to to those in the line that fail or half damage to succeed.

OOC Wolves and orb attack next post. Just seeing if/how much I hit.
Seeing the faerie fire fail to take and the wolves on the approach, Eila opts to go on the offensive. She raises the hand holding her symbol up and beseeches the Broken God to part the squalling clouds and a pillar of moonlight (Moonbeam)bears down on Wolf 2, searing it's flesh with it's radiance.
[DC 14 CON save, takes 16 radiant damage, half on a success, on the START of it's turn while it's in that space. I can move it 60ft as action going forward]
Katarina, without thinking too much, tries to follow Jade down the mountain, not wanting her fellow warrior to face monsters alone.
Dex save: 22
As the six eyes appear, Katarina's hair stands up. She lets out an animalistic hiss.
