IronMaiden does not sleep, but remains stationary and on guard most of the night, every so often blue flames flaring and testing power output from the new source core. All seems well.
In the morning they go out with roo and the others standing arms wide taking in the warmth from the rays of the new day sun, again flames flare a brilliant blue and ironmaiden gives Roo a nod, "Gallus is indeed beautiful, a warm companion driving out not only the dark, but the cold."
During the introduction to the griffons, ironmaiden has no issue mounting one and giving Sylvira their thanks, but lean down and ask before they go, "Jezebel is a Quasit, correct? I have been researching fiends what place upon the hierarchy would Jezebel find themselves? Also what can we expect from Lulu, are they also a fiendish creature?"
Corlith wakes up before dawn with his face resting on one of the books he got from Bookwyrm. His head is a little fuzzy, and when he looks down at the page he is on, he finds it still within the first chapter. A little confused, and disappointed at himself, he thinks back to the evening before and the drink Reya brought him. It hadn't tasted the same as the first cider he had had, and it dawns on him that it must have been alcoholic.
At this point, he is just grateful he woke up on time.
He arrives at the courtyard to watch the sunrise feeling a little more clear headed, but still a little annoyed. That wanes as he watches on as Roo performs his daily ritual. There was an order about the rising and setting of the sun that appealed to him. And Roo's morning ritual was actually a the something he understood and could relate to with the Gallus. That routine of his was pretty much the only bit of order in Roo's seemingly chaotic life. Chaotic from an outsiders perspective of course.
So he watches on contently, and quietly. No bucking or Bagoping from him.
When they meet up with Sylvira, and are brought to the Griffons, their mission starts to feel very real. All the talk about it, and the preparations had been quite theoretical, but now they were about to begin their journey. Going to the home of fiends, he starts to wonder about his own infernal heritage. About how it would feel to be in that place. He becomes quite pensive, lost in those thoughts, despite the impressive sight of the creatures that would fly them to this wizard friend of Sylvira's.
When Ironmaiden asks if Lulu is also a fiend of some kind, his ears prick up though, and he listens for the answer.
All that matters in the morning is Gallus. Roo makes his way out to meet his deity, finding the top of the highest point he can as the sun begins to rise, and commences raising...heaven? Hell? Sure the former, but with all the noise he generates, it is hard to tell. His feathers puff up, and he struts back and forth, chest out, bizarre wig removed so that the light of Gallus can peer down on his head one more time.
He struts, and he crows, and he makes quite the scene, making sure that Fog' Horn's breastplate is turned into the glaring light the whole time. And then, when he is done, he comes down from his perch, and begins to stroll amongst his friends and their new Griffon friends.
"Ah, these creatures are no doubt the product as Gallus's divine hand." He says, nodding with head-bobs. "Observe! Wings with feathers! Beautiful, powerful beaks! Why, it is clear that the future is avian! There is hope yet for all you featherless scoundrels! Buck!"
Virro is feeling more confident and stronger this morning as he walks over to a griffon and starts to pat, then stroke their side. “Featherless…”. He looks down at his sides, then back at the griffon, looking at the outline of the wing. “Indeed.” When everyone has gathered, he jumps astride the creature, making himself ready for the journey. He settles his shield in place and looks like he is mentally preparing himself for whatever is to come.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Pleased that none seem to have an issue with traveling by Griffon, Sylvira waits till everyone is settled. She walks over closer to the IronMaiden and responds, "Good eye, sir. Yes, she is a quasit. But she is a little demon, not a devil. Devils are big on their hierarchy and definitely do not get along with demons." She then breaks into a big grin, "Lulu? No.. she is not a fiend. I'm going to leave what she is as a surprise for you all."
"devils are the only ones with hierarchy then? This is interesting. On behalf of myself and Archie I thank you!" And with that cleared up, the IronMaiden is ready to leave.
And with that, the griffons take to the sky. The large creatures are majestic as they take flight and head out to sea, flying just below the clouds. Candlekeep looks no less majestic from the air but grows smaller as the griffons soar westward. Large, rocky islands pass below you, and beyond them lies the open sea.
After a long journey, you see a windowless, doorless stone tower — which somehow floats in the sky ahead. The griffons head to the top of the tower and pass through jagged holes riddling the tower’s conical peak to land on the top floor below. They prance around a bit, winded as they are and then lower their bodies so that you all can dismount. As you look around, you see a spiral staircase leading down.
Corlith dismounts from the griffon happy to be on solid ground once again. He had marvelled at the view of candlekeep as they soared into the sky, but he would still rather be one of those people who looked to him like ants from that high.
"Nowhere to go but down. And that staircase is just the start of our descent", he says to the others, his words foreshadowing a much greater descent soon to come.
"I like flying, they sky is amazing, I had no idea that the lands are so vast, though I did have anxieties and prepared feather fall should we have had trouble" IronMaiden admits whilst dismounting.
"In other updates, It has been enough time to positively exclude any anomalies with the sphere, I will wake Archie now if you all have no further need of me. But I will be listening, just call out for me should I be needed." After receiving an answer from the group the suit of armour will flare with orange flame as Archie wakes.
Reya feels a chill run down her spine at Corlith's words but her resolve does not waiver. When IM mentions waking Archie, she smiles, eager to see her friend again. "Thank you, Iron Maiden for trying to make it work with the two of you, I can't imagine how difficult this must be."
As the group heads down the spiral stairs, it takes to you a level below the roof you landed on. Here is a cluttered chamber illuminated by various objects upon which some flame spells must have been cast. Scurrying around the room is an otter dressed in a tiny red cassock. You barely catch a glimpse of it before it dives into another pile of clutter.
The otter pops his head up from within the clutter and adjusts a pair of spectacles that are resting upon his little nose. He smiles when he sees you and responds, "Why yes! I am Traxigor and you all must be our guests!!" He weasels his body out from the clutter and heads over to the group and holds out his little paw to shake hands, "Traxigor the Ottermage at your service." and his nose twitches which makes his spectacles slip again.
"Lulu! Wake up! Our guests have arrived!" and a pile of blankets near a table strewn with alchemical equipment starts to shuffle.
After a bit of an apparent struggle, a small elephant with golden fur emerges. After laying eyes upon you all, the elephant takes to the air on feathery wings and lets out a pleasing trumpet sound.
Archie looks around to the group and takes in a deep breath, "hey! Uh where are we? Did the operation go well... I don't have a headache! Oh my! I don't have a headache guys! This is great ohhhh I could get used to this!" Her voice merry and chirping through the tinny armour
As she follows the group down the stairs, nearly skipping as she goes she audibly gasps at the sight of Traxigor and Lulu, she grabs at Reyas arm like a child excitedly getting their mother's attention at a tot store and mutters "more cute animal people things!" Clearing her throat and raising her voice to the new found pair she asks, "hey there! We have indeed arrived... To this place here, for reasons that we all definitely know! What are you guys, I want to know everything! What's all this stuff? Why is there scorch marks everywhere?"
Corlith look curiously at Traxigor the ottermage, and then at Lulu, his eyes widening slightly betraying his surprise.
"Greetings Traxigor. Tell me, are you an otter that was awakened and became a mage, or a mage that was transformed into an otter?", he asks of the mage. "And greetings to you also, Lulu. We hear you wish to go back to Avernus and battle some more devils?", he adds a little uncertainly.
Virro descends the staircase and takes it all in, fascinated. He nods when Corlith speaks up and adds to it, “Yes, before we are going anywhere, I want to hear all about you! I can’t say that I’ve ever met, or heard of, an ottermage! And Lulu, my, how interesting you are! I am Virro, pleased to meet you both.”

Traxigor waves a paw towards the scorch marks on the wall, "Don't you mind those, can't make an omelet without breaking some eggs! Stuff? Why, I love stuff! Though at the moment, we need to find a tuning fork, only way to get you lot to Avernus."
Grinning at Corlith, "Why I was a mage that was transformed into an otter. Best thing that ever happened to me! Had a wish done on me to make it permanent in fact!"he twitches his whiskers and continues, "And now I'm searching for the tuning fork as Sylvira sent messages to me foretelling of your arrival and where you wanted to go. Though, I will miss my Lulu. She is quite the companion; I hope you can help her recover some of her memories though. Poor girl."

Reed lets out a breath he didn't know he was holding once they land safely at the tower.
"Well that was something," Reed says. "All those people looking smaller than Roo and I."
He spots the stairs, shrugs and heads off down them to see what lays ahead.
"I like flying, they sky is amazing, I had no idea that the lands are so vast, though I did have anxieties and prepared feather fall should we have had trouble" IronMaiden admits whilst dismounting.

Corlith is also keen to see how Archie was faring.
"See you later Ironmaiden. You in there Archie?", he asks as the flames shift colour.
On their arrival at the chamber below, he scans the clutter, briefly spotting the otter in the cassock.
"Now, do you all think the otter is Traxigor or Lulu?", he asks without missing a beat.
"I don't think a Lulu would be caught dead in a cassock," Reed says quite seriously. "That's a Traxigor."
Reed walks over and looks into the pile of clutter.
"Traxigor?" Reed asks.
The otter pops his head up from within the clutter and adjusts a pair of spectacles that are resting upon his little nose. He smiles when he sees you and responds, "Why yes! Reed's eyes go wide and then he laughs, clapping his hands together when the small furry elephant takes flight.
He shake the ottermage's paw.
"Apparently we're all going to Avernus to see about getting a city back," Reed says. "And we hear you're the otter to make that happen."
Archie looks around to the group and takes in a deep breath, "hey! Uh where are we? Did the operation go well... I don't have a headache! Oh my! I don't have a headache guys! This is great ohhhh I could get used to this!" Her voice merry and chirping through the tinny armour

Lulu trumpets to join in all the conversation.
"That is something", Corlith replies to Traxigor. "What do you find so appealing about that form?".
He then gets a little distracted, looking at Lulu but not speaking.
