"If we are heading to where demons spawn, I agree it likely best to avoid conflict here", Corlith says, accepting of the decision to bypass the devils.
Adding to the questions of Ironmaiden, he asks, "Are demons spawned fully grown and dangerous?".
IronMaiden swiftly turns the vehicle towards the bridge in the distance, keeping a wide berth from the devils on the chain. Mooncolor runs beside them, "I would imagine fully grown? I haven't seen any toddler demons or devils running around! Also I think they are just being teleported in from somewhere else? Though I have no idea where, just what I think."
As you head towards the bridge, the flying creatures are easier to distinguish and make you think of large vulture types. They appear to be fighting something in the River.
Virro rides along silently, occasionally looking out at the landscape, watching the chain and bearded devils around the bridge, watching what they are doing. He is silent, he seems lost in thought, and his mouth moves occasionally. "Hey, how many of those demons are spawning where we are going, I wonder? Are we heading into something even worse?" He seems lost in thought as they travel, finally he remembers his position and points the harpoon over, watching them on the far bridge as they go.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
"I told you to be quiet," Reed says, but then pauses. "Hmm, maybe."
He then calls out to the others.
"If demons and devils are different kinds of beings and this is the home of the devils it makes some sense that the demons would have to be coming from wherever their home is." Reed says. "If they really don't like each other, it's probably a good thing to let them fight each other while we look for the sword. We might not want to close any gateway they're using."
"I guess this is just one layer of hell, right? They must be coming from one of the lower layers, or levels, or whatever you call them", Corlith surmises. "And yes, allowing them to keep each other occupied whilst we grab the sword and save Elturel sounds like a good plan to me, too".
He tries to get a better view of what is in the river tussling with the vulture creatures.
You all get closer to the bridge and count five of the flying vultures above that appear focused on something in the water. Suddenly, crackling blue energy lances out from the water towards one of the vultures and it adjusts itself in flight just in time to avoid getting hit.
You're about 100 feet from the bridge, what would you like to do as you are currently unnoticed by the beasts at the bridge. The bridge itself looks to be just wide enough for your vehicle to travel over.
With the increased speed, Reed finds himself bouncing along in the rear wrecking ball chair, trying to keep the ball from swinging too wildly as they approach the bridge.
Virro uses his stealth and his action to hide, ducking down behind the edge of the vehicle, holding onto the harpoon, ready to fire it at an approaching beast if they are attacked.
As the vehicle surges forward, Virro ducks down behind the harpoon as they get into firing range. Two of the vultures swoop down into the water, but from your vantage point, you can't see if they hit the creature or not. You do see a tentacle shoot up into the sky from where they attacked though.
Corlith is also waiting to see if they can get past without attracting the attention of the vultures. He leans forward and places a hand on Ironmaiden's shoulder and provides a shot of magical energy to help them focus.
Action: Cast guidance on Ironmaiden Special: Bastion of Law - 2d8 remaining
You all see another burst of energy crackle through the air from the creature in the River Styx and hit the closest vulture-like creature to you. It squawks in pain.
"the thing in the water might not be able to see the too of the bridge. Lulu stay out of the air. We might be able to get past this" IM chimes out as they keep the pedal to the metal and drive on, they make sure their rod of absorption is near at hand though and if the chance to hit a low flying vulture creature with the vehicle presents itself, IM would take that chance.
IronMaiden presses the pedal down as hard as they can in the machine. It roars as it speeds down towards the bridge, all the creatures are in the air that are above the bridge, so nothing for them to hit. Lulu quickly dives in, and tucks her wings in, leaning against Reed as she does.
As you all speed pass, three of the five the vulture-like creatures turn in your direction, a crazed look in their eyes. The other two seem oblivious to what is going on behind them, their sole focus on the creature in the water. You're now about 30 feet past the bridge.
Reed squeezes over to give Lulu room then looks at her and nods.
"Don't let up. Lulu says there's something very wrong about the flying creatures," Reed says.
He holds himself still in the back of the vehicle, steadies his bow, and lets an arrow fly at one of three with the crazed looks that has noticed them. As the arrow flies, he nods at one of the other two that have also spotted them and says "That one."
He pauses, listening to a response. "I don't care if they look scary. Go."
As the first arrow lands, the other creature hears a wail in their ears. At first half-hearted but then it rises to a screeching ghostly wail that only they can hear.
Bonus Action - Steady Aim
Action - Shortbow (19, 17 + 9) = 28 to hit for (11+9 sneak attack) = 20 magical piercing to Evil Vulture One. Then Evil Vulture Two gets 7 necrotic damage from Wails from the Grave.

"Looks like some kind of tentacle beast in the water", Corlith says as he looks closely, before flinching as the lightning like beam lances out.
"A dangerous one too. I wonder why the vultures are after it. It might be injured", he adds.
He looks to Ironmaiden in the drivers seat, "Want to try and speed past and hope they stay focussed on each other?".
“Let’s jump it, yeah?” Virro looks forward with excitement, whatever the outcome.
