"There's got to be more pirates than this on that ship. Let's give them something else to do besides attacking us!", Sae grins to herself. Quickly igniting her fire arrow, she takes aim at the presumed flagship's mainsail. Then she sets another one ready in case the first fire arrow fails to ignite its target, nocks a regular one and turns to see if the fight on the deck needs any help from a sniper.

Pirate 5 tries to block the vicious attacks, but he just isn't fast enough... One swing hits his leg hard enough that you can hear the femur snap from across the deck, but he doesn't have enough time to cry out before the second blow cleaves his skull open, splattering gore everywhere!

I'll consider the stairs difficult terrain as it is both steep and wet, so he can't close into melee... but he does still have his two pistols, which he quickly loads as he climbs the stairs and fires one at the elf and the other at the halfling! Attack: 11 Damage: 8 (Sae) Attack: 13 Damage: 10 (Emrys)
Pirate 6 focuses his efforts on Will, swinging twice with his scimitar Attack: 11 Damage: 4 Attack: 17 Damage: 8
Pirate 8, seeing an opportunity as Yevelda turns her back on him for a split-second decapitate his friend, attacks twice at the half-orc, both attacks with advantage because Yevelda used Reckless Attack Attack: 15 Damage: 6 Attack: 16 Damage: 8

Sayyida's attack does a number on Pirate 3... he manages to avoid going over the edge, but still collides painfully with the railing.

But no sooner have the words left his mouth than Areleo strikes with inhuman ferocity! The merman's claws tear the pirate's throat open, and he collapses in a pool of blood.
It is often that bards and historians describe a battle as something alive, a fire, wild and consuming. Emrys always thought this habit nothing but unnecessary flourish. An act of writers trying to either show off their skill with words or to appear to have such skill. Ego, cliché, panache, trend, anything but realism seemed to him more believable of a reason. The attack of pirates taught him different. Battle had indeed a life of its own and what could better describe its ravenous nature than flames? As the boarding party arrived, he took his arcane focus. Out of instinct, the halfling lowered himself, evading a shot.
“YEVELDA NEEDS COVER!”Goldenfleaf shouted as his eyes filled with dark mist and his whispered incomprehensible words. Magical force blanked his body, manifesting as frost. Armor of Agathys was cast. “Sae, let’s focus fire on the gunsglinger.” The halfling raised his empty hand and dark smoke gushed violently from ship floor, right next to the shooter. A single spectral tentacle manifested, cutting through the air and lashing against the pirate. “If you thought we were going to be easy prey, you weren’t paying attention.”
Emrys tried to sound as confident as he could. It was important to make it look that their stand came out of the belief in their strength. This way it was reasonable that they resisted until the moment the fight seemed lost.
Notes: Emrys spends his action to cast Armor of Agathys on himself (+10 temporary hit points, 10 Cold damage to anyone who hits him with a melee attack) then spends his bonus action to use Tentacle of the Deeps to create and attack the pirate that shoot at both him and Sae with a spectral tentacle (18 to hit, 6 Cold Damage). No movement used, rolls made on the campaign log, temporary HP and resources used all marked on the sheet.

From his point of advantage, Emrys could see the battle on the floor. His heart sank as William fell bleeding. He didn’t want to fight, the halfling knew. Yet he did, with all he had. And I promised to do my best in order to keep him alive. But at that point there was little a warlock could do. The pact was made to guard, its spells focused on fighting. Little support, no heal.
“ ’NAUT! WILLIAM! HEAL!” The hydrozoan had mentioned being able to help in combat. Goldenleaf could only assume this meant some restorative spell. “As long as we got done with this one we focus on helping the Thompson.”
He mentioned to Sae, rising his focus and whispering. Shadows poured from its end, all too similarly to the smoke from which the tentacle manifested but this time a beam of sea green cackling energy came from it. The shooter was once again under fire. Emrys left hand came down and with it the tentacle who shared the color of the Eldritch Blast took part on its onslaught, once again whipping against the enemy. It made for a contrasting scene - the young and charismatic halfling draped in bright colors invoking dark fog and arcane energy, making them into cold strikes with brutal intent.
Notes: Emrys spends his action to cast Eldritch Blast (21 to hit, 12 Force Damage) on Pirate 1 and his bonus action to attack the same target with the Tentacle of the Deeps (21 to hit, 8 Cold Damage, -10 feet of movement speed). If the Eldritch Blast kills Pirate 1 then consider that the tentacle attacks the closest enemy (the tentacle has a 30ft movement speed and can attack after being moved by Emrys' bonus action). No movement used, all rolls made in the campaign log.
