Kathra shrugs. "Could be that the power of the stone doesn't have a deleterious effect on the seals. Or he's worried he'd slip and fall on the stone and get zapped. Whatever the case, I wouldn't chance it - not if Mirabel's read on him is right, anyway."
There's a lengthy pause as she looks at Mirabel. "You're sure you read him right, yeah?"
"I imagine he is obsessed with this engine; magical artifacts tend to have that effect on people." He turns to Peren. "Whatever we do, I agree a good night's rest beforehand would be the best course of action."
((Mub's been busy with work. I'll likely play him during combats if required and do an occasional roll if you need him to act. As for the rest of you, just so I'm clear, after conferring among yourselves, you have decided to head back into the sapphire mines to rest for eight hours before going on a Storm Seal hunt and are telling Korm that this is your plan?))

"The mongoose blew out its candle and was asleep in bed before the room went dark." —Llanowar fable
Your watch is somewhat stressful if relatively uneventful. Korm stops by to visit for a few minutes, dropping off a plate of fried Storm Seal minnows for your group to snack on before wandering off deeper into the mine with two of those skull-headed vault servants. Otherwise the silence of the mine is broken erratically by bursts of buzzing energy from the spell engine in the larger adjacent room. Each buzz and crackle heightening your alert for a few seconds as you expect something to happen which never comes.
Gavin's Watch:
By the time your watch rolls around, Kathra is likely ready to leave the world of the waking and its stresses behind. You see a cold plate of fried Storm Seal minnows on the ground that I assume Kathra wanted nothing to do with for multiple reasons. When you ask, it's likely she informs you that Korm dropped by for a time and shared the "snack" before wandering off with some animated armors.
As for your watch, it's equally unnerving. The quiet of the cavern is occasionally interrupted by discharges from the spell engine. Also you hear metal boots echoing around you as the servants move about on their tireless missions. But otherwise, you don't notice anything dangerous and nothing particularly harasses your sleeping companions for the remainder of your watch.
((Mub is technically a Ranger, but looking over his skills and spells, he has no abilities that would allow for him to speak to and understand Storm Seals.))

"The mongoose blew out its candle and was asleep in bed before the room went dark." —Llanowar fable
((Unfortunately I don’t think that will work Mirabel, as I don’t think they have a spoken language. I think we need something like speak with animals.Correct me if I’m wrong Meta))
The last watch is seeming short and uninteresting. Maybe it was the light sleep you had earlier, but things just seem to drift along with a sort of odd mundane air. Vault servants wander in to drop off more plates of fried Storm Seal minnows, laid down next to the cold plate that has been sitting untouched most of the night. The noises of the large room are almost disturbingly natural to you now. Occasionally you think you hear a Storm Seal barking playfully with its peers. It isn't long before your companions begin to stir, signalling the end of your watch.
All of you need to give me a Constitution Save for reasons. Kathra gets advantage on this roll for other reasons.

Peren agrees with the nights rest, then taking out the seals in the morning
But wonders, if mr. flee bags is so powerful, why does he need us to kill the seals? Sounds like he wants to keep us busy and out of his way.
Mirabel manages a shrug that says "Probably."
"I imagine he is obsessed with this engine; magical artifacts tend to have that effect on people." He turns to Peren. "Whatever we do, I agree a good night's rest beforehand would be the best course of action."
((Mub still with us? Hasn’t posted in over a week))
I say we go up a level and take a long rest with rotating watches
Sounds like a plan to me. Kathra will take first watch.
Perception: 5
((BOY I SURE HOPE NOTHING BAD HAPPENS))

((Yes, I will take second watch))
Perception: 16
((wow, we really kinda suck right now))

If we need a third watch Peren will take it
Sure, roll Perception.
Perception = 18
((Does anyone have a way to communicate w the storm seals?))
((Not sure, we don’t have a druid or ranger))
((Mub is technically a Ranger, but looking over his skills and spells, he has no abilities that would allow for him to speak to and understand Storm Seals.))
((Movin on then))
((Mirabel can cast Tongues if he can get close enough))
((Unfortunately I don’t think that will work Mirabel, as I don’t think they have a spoken language. I think we need something like speak with animals.Correct me if I’m wrong Meta))
((You are correct.))
((Yea, i forgot Mub was a ranger))
the spell i was thinking about was speak with animals, my barbarian has it, but not sure that would help in this situation anyway
