Thinking for a moment, he looks down at the ground then back up at the others. "Yes, Latimer, although I dare say the time for sneaking is done, let's get Sildar out of this eating cave and find out where Gundren is. If we can make a deal with them, good, if not, then we'll need to figure the rest out on our own."
Nephira cocks an eyebrow and looks at the others, skeptical. "This is trouble. I strongly doubt these gobs have enough care for each other to trade anything for any single one of them..."She sighs, "That bein' said... If that's what you all think is best, I'll go with the group."
She turns her attention back to the snaggletoothed goblin for a moment, looking him over. "Still... If we're really gonna take the risk of bringing this one along with us, there's just one thing I'd like to do to make sure he doesn't forget his manners once we're inside."
The goblin slumps to the ground and begins snoring gently.
All - The cave mouth is silent behind you, save for the murmuring stream. Did the goblin warn their allies inside? Perhaps. How would you like to approach this?
Nephira looks to the others."Back to the old plan? I'll scout ahead a few paces and you lot watch my back?"She gestures toward the unconscious goblin. "Maybe draw straws to see who gets to lug along Sleeping Beauty over here?"

He nods at Nephira. Looks at the unconscious Goblin, then down at himself, "I uh... I don't think I can carry em." Then heads towards the cave opening.
Seeing what Latimer is doing with the stone, he'll pick up a stone of his own, cast light on it, and also toss it ahead of the group in the hopes that two is better than one. He whispers over to Latimer, "Great idea!!"
He'll be scanning the cave as they light it up, looking for trouble and other potential routes because he doesn't quite trust the Goblin.
Nephira looks at the rock as she passes by Latimer. She pulls out one of the corkwood bobbers out of her tackle box and tosses it to him. "Might wanna cast your glowy spell on something that makes a little less of a clatter. Sound travels fast in a cave like this."
She turns her attention toward the cave. "Me, I'm fine without the light." She says as she continues pushing forward, taking her scouting position 30' ahead of the others. As she walks she takes one last look back at Caledon and the unconscious goblin. "Guess you drew the short straw, Cal. 'Less you wanna just tie the fella up and leave'm here."

The dark cave swallows you up. The party creeps forward, from island of light to island of light. Three possible paths forward quickly become obvious:
Important roll that you need not worry about: 24 OR 26
(1) The main passage from the cave mouth climbs steeply upward, the stream plunging and splashing down the rocks. The way ahead looks well-trod and simple enough to travel. In the shadows of the ceiling to the north, you can just make out the dim shape of a rickety bridge of wood and rope crossing over the passage ahead. Another passage intersects this one, twenty feet above the floor. [Perception Checks, if you please]
(2) Just inside the cave mouth, on your right, are a few uneven stone steps leading up to a small, dank chamber. You can see dimly that the chamber narrows to a steep fissure at the far end, and is filled with the stench of damp fur. Savage snarls and the sounds of rattling chains greet your ears as you approach the opening. By the light of the glowing stones, you can see three mangy wolves snarling back at you, tugging their chains. But no goblins.
(3) On your left, across the stream, you see a side passage. It looks fairly rocky and unused. This is likely the alternate passage to the Eating Cave that your goblin captive described.
[Which path would you like to take? If you are moving stealthily, please provide a stealth check. If not, I will assume you are kicking rocks and shouting at each other. (Not really, but can you imagine?)]
He doesn't quite slink, but tries to be quiet. After Nephira's suggestion of the cork to Latimer, he stops using the rock and instead casts light on his spellcasting orb.
At the sound of snarls, his mind goes to another place. He remembers the childhood stories of wolves and naughty Harengon. He begins to shake and closes his eyes, trying his best not to let out a squeal of fright.
Seeing the passage the Goblin pointed out makes him question the truth of it's words. He whispers to the others, "Do we trust it's words, or choose a different path?"
Nephira's heartbeat accelerates at the sound of the wolves' growl and her face twists into a reflexive sneer which she works hard to swallow. In response to Cressel's question she replies quietly, "Why don't I give it a quick peek. So we don't risk all our hides at once. But first..."
Being careful to keep her distance, Nephira attempts to make some soft, calming sounds to placate the wolves as she tosses a field rations out to each of them. "Hey now, pups. No way these gobs are treating you the way you deserve. How 'bout a little snack, eh? A nice quiet snack."

"These wolves are chained, but goblins and wolves are known to run together. I am not sure how effective they are as guards if they are chained like this. Something seems wrong. But maybe we can at least keep them quiet. Unfortunately, I don't really have a way to do that."
Not even bothering with a stealth check... clearly it wouldn't help.

The wolves tear into the rations Nephira provides. They appear to calm down. They watch the party warily, but no longer show signs of wild aggression. It appears as though they will let the party pass through the room without attacking.
Everything appears fine. Not a goblin in sight.
[Will you all continue into the wolf room ('The Kennel') or split up and investigate all avenues? Something else?]
Nephira nods in the direction of the Goblin's route to the Eating Cave. "What do you all think about holding position here, or find cover in the kennel while I quietly poke my head up there? If it's a bad scene, we keep pushing forward. If it's everything the goblin says it is, we leave him a nice shiny coin when this is all over and done with for being such a good boy."

"I was gonna make him walk.."
Latimer tosses the light-producing stone into the mouth of the cave, so we can see what;'s ahead of us. "Shall we?"
Latimer will keep picking up the stone with the intention of tossing it ahead, unless someone prefers a different approach.
