Khessa approaches and tries to see if a a simple cleansing spell (even cast multiple times, if necessary) can at least make the bloodstains disappear. Normal blood should be cleaned...
The blonde arcane warrior turns to Clarac: "Do you think you could reconsecrate this altar quickly? Or would it be a lengthy process?"
"To reconsecrate the altar properly is beyond my power, and perhaps would inappropriate for one who is not Golgari to do. I can only cleanse it of Evil now," Clarac replies to Khessa. When the bloodstains are cleaned away, Clarac approaches the altar and, as respectfully as possible, moves the heads/skulls to be close together, then drapes a cloth over them.
She also uses her Divine Sense again, and if she detects that the altar is still magically desecrated, casts Dispel Magic or Remove Curse as needed.

You can sense a taint, like curse, by whatever desecrated the alter. You feel a magical energy flow through you, and there is a glow around the alter, then it stands before you clean and new once again. All traces of the dark curse, the eight-pointed star and everything has been cleansed.

Khessa pats Clarac on the shoulder: "Excellent work, my friend!"
"Let's move on, then..." The blonde arcane warrior leaves the altar behind and, after a moment of hesitation, leads the party to...
