Cheering as loudly as her soft voice allows, Mei waits with bated breath for Guardok’s floor routine to begin. As he takes a starting position, silvery threads snake out every which way from the earth genasi in her mind’s eye—each path playing out like a picture reel. She presses her fingers to her temples as her eyes cloud white, the visions overwhelming.
Strength. She’d drawn the Strength card this morning. And now she understands exactly what it portended.
One of the strings glows faintly and she strums it, the present now destined to follow its path as all the visions combine once more into a single image.
(I rolled an 8 and a 20 for the day’s portents. So I’ll have her use the 20 to replace Guardok’s Athletics check if that’s okay! Making his score a 21)
As Mei's vision overwhelms her, Guardokalmost perfectly completes one of his more difficult flips. His moves graceful, he seems to play to the energy of the crowd. Once his routine is over, he receives loud applause. His score is 7.00 - placing him in first place for this competition!
It doesn't take long though for him to lose the top position, one of his Strixhaven teammates scoring a 7.68. However, at the end of the round Guardokis still sitting in second.
With a good showing overall in the Floor Exercise, the Strixhaven team again takes over the top position for the teams:
Overall Team Scores - After 3 Rounds Strixhaven University 57.81 Aven Academy 56.52 Nandeno College 43.72 Laekith Institute 36.42
When the horn sounds once again, Strixhaven is next off to the Vault and after that will be the Rings. So Guardokhas a couple of rounds off before the Parallel Bars.
The Strixhaven team starts off well on the Vault with Conys getting a 7.36 to start. This puts her into thrid place until Zanther's turn comes up. He puts in a fantastic effort, but 'only' gets 8.64, leaving him still behind the fantastic vault that Seeng Rufftalon had done for Aven Academy.
Laekith Institute does manage to place one person in second on the Uneven Bars, but nobody comes close to Conys' score. Nandeno College struggles a bit with the Floor Routine. Meanwhile, Aven Academy does well on the Parallel Bars, taking the top two places overall with only Strixhaven left to compete on that event.
Despite the good showing by Aven Academy, Strixhaven actually did a bit better on their Vaults and extends their lead a bit.

For Strixhaven, round five starts well with the first score placing the competitor into third place for the event. However, Conys manages a 6.92 and then Zanther gets 7.84 to place first and second. Overall it's another good round.
Nandeno College is on the Vault this round and doesn't do all that much. Their best score only manages to place in fifth for the event.
Aven Academy is on Balance Beam with a last shot at displacing the Strixhaven students that are in first and second place. The first several competitors struggle until finally their last entrant manages a 6.40 which earns them the fourth-place spot.

(OOC - Guardok: The Parallel Bars is an event that relies a bit more on Strength and also being able to hold some of these moves. This will involve Athletics(Strength), Athletics(Constituttion), and Acrobatics(Dexterity). This time the Acrobatics is not as important as the other areas. You can again choose one roll to have Advantage. And after the rolls you may re-roll one - keeping the highest result.)
Guardok doesn't do well with the break and having to watch his team mates rather than compete. He supports them of course, but he is eager to get on with his next routine, and full of nervous energy.
The parallel bars are also his weakest event, having only chosen it to stretch himself.
When the time comes, he approaches and tries to focus and be in the moment.
(OOC: Once again, athletics (strength) for advantage)
The Strixhaven scores on the Parallel Bars start off fairly good but not enough to break into the top 3 with a 6.08 and then 6.42. Guardokis up next and gives quite a solid performance, even though there are a couple of moves he doesn't quite hold as strongly as he might have. But his score is still good - 7.26. This puts him in third place with only Conys left to go. Her strength is fabulous but there are a few elements of her routine that are off, and she misses one of her elements. She ends with a score of 5.46 - quite good but not enough to displace any of the top scores.
Conys is clearly disappointed in her performance, but it takes her only a moment to come over to Guardok. "You did it! Third place in this event! And two personal medals for you! Way to go in your first competition!" She seems nothing but sincere in her congratulations.
The final horn is sounded, and the competition is completed. Given Strixhaven's strong performance on their last event it seems clear they will place first amongst the teams. Though it takes a few moments for the official results and awards to be handed out. Individual events are first, the first 3 places being given medals. Afterward, all the members of each of the teams is recognized, receiving a medal according to their place. Strixhaven University is of course awarded the 1st place medals.

Zanther is of course beside himself with the results. "That was an amazing job! Amazing! Those Aven Academy folks are very good. But this whole team did amazing! Even those of you that didn't individually get medals. It was everyone!" He does though after the ceremonies find a moment to come over to Guardokto speak with him personally. "Two medals. That is such a great accomplishment! We'll have to work towards getting you a gold in the future. But what a start!" He is all smiles, as he then asks, "The important question though is - did you have fun?"
Mae cheered gladly but didn't overdo it, but let her natural radiance show with a few colorful magical displays to accent her celebration with Guardok.
Mei is quite a-mei-zaed to see the Strixhaven team absolutely sweep the competition. Without enough knowledge of the rules or how points are calculated, she'd been reliant on the competitors reactions after their events to tell who did well and who missed the mark--truly it seemed to her they were all incredible athletes.
As the final medals are awarded, the small oracle stands up on her seat to cheer and Prestidigitates butterfly sparks in Strixhaven's colors.
((Just for fun... DEX check to not fall off the chair: 3+2 5 and i oop))
Guardok is almost giddy with all the excitement of Strixhaven winning the team award and getting two medals of his own.
"Thanks Conys, you got two as well right? Including one gold! Same for Zanther. But I am happiest that the team won", he says with genuine team spirit. "We are all winners, and we did it together", he adds, being reminded of the bond he shares with his circus family.
He spots the celebrations out in the crowd, with the colourful displays thrown up by Mae and Mei, and waves his arms as high in the air as he can at his friends. He has a medal in each hand that swing about. He then winces as Mei topples off her chair.
When Zanther speaks to him personally, he smiles up at the larger genasi. "I think I had a little too much fun at the start. More style over substance, a bit like the circus. But I think I grew into it and yes, I had a lot of fun".
The purple-skinned tiefling does not know much about gymnastics but he is quite impressed with what he sees, particularly with the Strixhaven and Aven competitors. He is about to follow suit and create magical sparks as the purple-haired oracle falls off her chair in her excitement. "Easy there, the gymnastics are over I think." He says with a chuckle, helping the dreamer up again. "We should try to find Guardok and the others." He says and looks around to see how the rest of the spectators behaves, if they storm the field or if the behave in a more civilized manner.
As the teams celebrate those who won, you do notice that a few of the competitors come over to talk with fans up in the stands. But you do not see anyone actually leaving the stands to go down to the gymnasium floor or vice versa. Most of the spectators start to head out to the same doors where they entered.
You can even spot a few gymnasts from opposing teams greeting each other and congratulating winners. Qlelle, one of the Aven Academy owiln competitors comes over and speaks first with Conys, then with Zanther. They seem to know each other.
After he has finished speaking with Zanther, Guardok rushes across to where his friends are and tries to get as close to them as he can, right by the railings.
"I'm so glad you all came. You were amazing cheerleaders. I loved the light shows and cheering. Are you ok, Mei? I saw you topple".
Mei checks to make sure she didn't knock out a tooth, then laughs off her blunder as she dusts off her Guardok-tee. "I was going for gold in chair gymnastics, apparently!"
"B-But you! Guardok, you were amazing!" she rises to her tiptoes and leans over the railing to say with a lowered voice, "Definitely the most fun to watch."
"Do you all have to head back right away or will you have a chance to celebrate in the city? Are you hungry? I brought some snacks."
((OOC-- about what time of day would you say it is now, DM?))
(OOC - Time of day is late afternoon at this point. A bit early for dinner, but the gymnasts have had a lot of activity and not as much time for a meal.)
Zanther comes over to where Guardok is speaking to Mei and the other roommates. "Hey!" he says to those in the seating area. "Nice to see you here rooting on your friend! Definitely an inspiration to us!" He then looks at the earth genasi. "The team is going to get going soon. We're going to get something to eat at a place down the street before we head back. Well, unless you need to be back sooner? We've got one or two folks that did want to get back right away."
Not quite as voracious as some of his friends, Malvyn would still like to come to dinner with the Strixhaven gymnastics troupe, trying to give them all adequate compliments on their respective performances.
