Boona goes after the one on the right (#1), her maul flaring with holy light. She crushes it into pulp. It collapses inertly.
Quinn is up next! He's at least 35 feet from melee, but only 15 from visual contact for ranged attack. Two creatures remain standing (#2 and #3), one (#3) only barely.
Quinn hears the commotion and rushes into the room. It takes a moment or two for his eyes to adjust, but he faintly makes out the aggressive movements of something. He launches a dart at one of the creatures to no avail.

The injured one goes down in a blast of radiance from Syzygy. The other one ducks out of the way. Only the one ghoul remains standing.

You find yourselves in an ancient a miners’ barrack, furnished with old stone bunks and a corroded iron brazier, together with a whole lot of bones and scraps of armor.
The only other exit is a doorway south, a very similar 6-by-4 foot door made of 6-inch-thick cut slabs of stone fitted with iron handles and hinges.
Quinn turns and looks over everyone the best he can. He lights the torch he used earlier to help better illuminate the room.
“Looks like everyone is okay.”
Quinn spots the door to the south and points it out. He quietly moves past Boona and regards her with a smirk.
“Good job, Boona. You too, Ruven. I’m sure glad you both decided to join us.”
He’ll look over the dead ghouls to see if they have anything of note on them. Rings, jewelry, tattoos, or markings of any sort. He’ll then search the two beds to the north east of the room.

Quinn examines the ghouls – they wear nothing but scraps and have no possessions. The stone bunks are long vacant. Anything they once contained have moldered into dust.
Boona opens the southern door. This barrack room has a 20-foot ceiling, and the hallways 10 feet, but these 6-foot doorways she has to duck under. Outside this door are more tunnels, connecting with the tunnel you already passed through. The way south looks more natural than cut.
"I'm glad too," agrees Bryony, smiling at Boona. "I'm happy to have met you and Ruven both!"
Bryony trails after Boona as she heads to the southern door. Peeking out into the hallway, she sees that the south looks like it heads more toward natural caves, which is what she expected from a place called Wave Echo Cave.
Ruven sheathes his sword and looks distastefully at the corpse's corpses. Yes, it is pleasant to travel with competent characters. He charges off with Boona, determined to examine more of the cave.

Boona, Bryony, and Ruven venture a little further south, where they find a thirty-foot-high cavern (W3) formed by the intersection of four tunnels. The walls are carved with simple reliefs showing dwarf and gnome miners at work. Nearly two dozen skeletons in rusted scraps of armor are scattered across the cavern floor. Some are dwarf skeletons, while others appear to be the remains of larger individuals. Half a dozen large, unlit brass lanterns stand in niches or on ledges around the cavern.
