“I didn’t break in anywhere…” Aros sounds meek, as if he was explaining himself to an upset parent. He tries to stop his hands from shaking, but suddenly his look switches to anger. “Neither did Mirna or her children. Your group held them for ransom and attacked me for wandering the area.”
Seething with rage, he mutters through his clenched teeth, “You parasite.” Aros waves his staff again, casting Thorn Whip.

Bryony emerges from hiding now that they've got the wizard surrounded.
"Your pet demon walloped me on the head! You've already caused violence toward us," she points out. "Speaking of which, where is your little pet? Waiting to ambush us?"
Glancing around, Bryony sees no signs of the little demon who had assaulted her earlier.
As Aros lashes out, a sudden bubble of invisible protective energy deflects Aros' arcane thorny whip, as Glasstaff lets out a high-pitched shriek of panicked alarm. "Aii! ...I surrendered already, you murderous dolt!" he shouts.
Then he vanishes. He reappears on his feet some 25 feet behind you, where he breaks into a run, heading out a gaping hole in the north wall.
You are all now about 55 feet away from Glasstaff, the first 25 of which is Difficult Terrain. Jurgen, Quinn, Kimberly, and Syzygy may act. Aros may still move (but has already taken his action.) Bryony may still act (but has already used her movement this turn.) You still have a line-of-sight on him, although he will soon find cover in the underbrush beyond.
Quinn draws his crossbow and fixes it on Glasstaff. He slows his breath, steadies his aim.
With a loud, booming voice, Quinn yells out at the wizard "RUNAWAY LIKE A SCHOOLBOY, coward! If I ever come across you again, I swear I'll cut your damn head off!"
IF Glasstaff makes any movement EXCEPT run away, Quinn will fire his crossbow at him.

Kimberley looks at Quinn hesitating, "Fire."
" If he gets away then who knows how many more he'll send.....though honestly he doesn't seem smart enough to have organized all this himself.....what did those papers say?"
She looked towards where her mace had fallen but there wasn't time to fetch it, she snatched up a rock from the ground and threw it at him....moving towards him as far as she could first.
“Quinn!” Syzygy protests, “Are you out of your mind? What’s gotten in to you?” Syzygy throws a brief but accusatory glance at Kimberley before turning back to Quinn and his burning fury. Syzygy takes another pinch of sand from a pouch sewn into his cloak sleeve, ready to calm the tempered ranger.
readied action: sleep on Quinn if he looks like he will shoot 17hp
[Syzygy would only try to catch Quinn in its radius. I don’t remember our exact initiative order but if = to Quinn happy to challenge him to a Dex roll. I got dex:9.
Quinn keeps his crossbow aimed at Glasstaff. Without taking his eye off the target, he speaks to Syzygy.
“Syzygy, I’m not sure I’m the one who’s out of my mind here. What in the hells did that man do to you? Where is that devil of his? Have you replaced him? Are you his pet now?” His voice slowly gets louder and more angry as he continues to the point where he’s practically growling. “His damn little servant nearly caved in Bryony’s skull. What of Aros, the Drendars, and who knows how many people he’s harmed? You think he cares anything about anyone else other than his own skin?”
Quinn’s maintains his readied action with no changes.

While Bryony still has line of sight on the wizard, she will unleash another arrow at him. She can hear Syzygy still wanting to protect Glasstaff and realizes he must've been bewitched by the wizard somehow. That just makes her even angrier.

Glasstaff continues to run toward the brushline. Quinn shouts and studies his fleeing foe carefully, but holds his fire for now.
Kimberley chucks a rock at him. (But at this distance, it's at Disadvantage. Disadvantage roll:15 ) At the same time, she invokes Selune's blessing upon Syzygy's ability to perhaps break free of any influences.
Syzygy readies a spell to stop Quinn if he tries to shoot. Jurgen lets loose a bolt at the fleeing wizard's back. Once again, an invisible shield surrounding the wizard deflects the well-aimed bolt.
But then the arcane shield fails to stop Bryony's arrow. It catches Glasstaff in the back of the neck. He goes down hard at the edge of the ruins. He does not get up again.

Bryony watches her arrow take down the wizard, and for a moment she is stunned. Then she feels slightly guilty. What if they should have kept him alive? But no, he had allied himself with the Redbrands, taken villagers captive and hurt them, even bewitched Syzygy somehow, not to mention his pet had nearly killed her. The wizard had brought this on himself. But still a twinge of doubt settled in her mind. And again she had not gotten used to killing so she couldn't help but feel bad at taking another life.
Bryony walks over to Glasstaff to check if he is really dead. If he is, she will search his pockets for any more information on what he has been doing.
Aros makes his way over to the downed wizard. By the time he approaches, his anger has dissipated. He summons another set of berries into his hand. “Here.” Aros offers nine of the berries to Bryony. The last one he holds in his hand. ”Do we save him?”

" It'll be easier to make sense of his scribbles if he's around to consult on them. But honestly his actions have earned death so I'm little bothered either way.", Kimberley said flatly.
" How many bodies were in that ravine as food for his other pet?"
Quinn lowers his crossbow, but keeps it loaded and at the ready. He walks slowly towards the downed wizard, ready to act if he comes to.
He stands within earshot of Syzygy and whoever is near.
"That's true, it didn't have to end like this." He waits and lets that thought linger on the breeze. "We could've been here standing over Bryony's lifeless body. Maybe even yours. If you're gonna feel sorry about someone, don't feel sorry for him. Shed a tear for the people who's lives he's upended. Not him."
