Chadwick shakes his head coming out of the trance, then shouts very un-Chadwick like; "BY TYR'S GIANT HAIRY BALLS WHAT IN THE EVERY LOVING F@CK IS GOING ON?!?!"
He frantically looks around for something to attack, then yells some more "Who the (foreign language) am I supposed to hit?!" Seeing Gneuman attack a lake fairy he decides to shoot the non-prone fairy.
Bonus action: Hunter's Mark.
Still a bit dazed his shot goes wide (9 to hit with bless).
He yells "Hey crow boy what do you have in that basket?!" (assuming he isn't aware yet). Getting suspicious that it isn't something good he closes 5', but stays within Kragen's bless range.
Kragen moves west, preparing to target one of the Faeries.
"Sir Chadwick, the entrancement from the Lake Hags has been broken. All the Fey are now of their own, use caution before harming them."
Yelling for the Crow to hear "Good Master Crow, you have now been freed from these evil Lake Hags. They have manipulated you in bringing them tributes. Please return the human children to safety!"
Raising his hammer and pointing toward R Lake Fairy. A Flash of Light streaks toward R Lake Fairy from "The Judge". "Tyr judges thee guilty!"
Kragen's spell engulfs the lake fairy for 18 radiant damage. She howls in pain in a very unladylike fashion. With murder in her eyes she moves to the pool of blood and coats both hands with it. Using the power of her sister's lifeblood she casts Bestow Curse. The prone lake fairy rises and moves closer to her sister. She also casts Bestow Curse. ((Bonuses for combined casting, lair action and blood sacrifice of their sister.)) All of you are the targets. Starker and Trolkarl are able to resist their potent magic. The rest of you succumb to the Curse.
"The blood of our sister Curses you. Until her murderer is slain you will suffer in all of your efforts other than KILLING BALEFOLIUMNAX!!!," the two lake fairies screech at your group. You feel the necromantic power that they command wash over you and suffuse your being. After completing their foul sorcery they descend below the surface of the lake. You notice that ripples are starting to appear on the lake surface and the pool of blood is now gone.
EFFECTS OF CURSE: -2 on all d20 checks if not directly aimed at killing the green dragon Balefoliumnax.
(If Protection from Evil cancels curses, then I will alter plan to Protect Crow from Evil, saying “Excuse the familiarity, but this touch will free you from the Hags’ Curse.”)
if not, “Excuse me, I need to get these larva away from yon hags.” Dash 30’ South with tiny inverted yurt-o-youths

I was just going to have the same question in the OOC chat.
Chadwick walks over to the crow. "I am Chadwick, Knight of the Holy Judgement. Don't worry about this (patting his bow in hand) it's just in case the hags dare to return."
“Crow, is the dragon evil? It has done us no harm and is the enemy of the accursed cursing hags. Also, is there water underneath the surface of this seeming lake?”
”Trokarl and I should, perhaps, wait by the shore to kill the hags with our uncursed might.”
if we are out of combat, start to rest. If we are in combat, leave babies with Kragen and go to the structure by the south end of the lake.
Starker receives an open eyed look with Crow tilting his head to the side a bit, “All green dragons are evil in my experience.” He the looks to the lake, “It appears to be a lake of water, but, I don’t enter bodies of water. So, I don’t know.”

Kragen to act

The Crow responds to Kragen, "I wish to parley, dwarf. Assure me of safety and I will land with the human hatchlings."
Starker moves 30’ to be right underneath sack-o-babies.
“Give them to me and you will be safe from us so long as you attempt no harm to us or the children.”
Holds Action and Bonus Action.
if wet hags resurface before Crow gives me sack-o-babies:
if more than 45’ away Toll The Dead DONG! At the more wounded one.
If less, the Misty Step to within 15’ and Dragon’s Breath (lightning) at as many as I can fit in 15’ cone
if Crow gives container-o-kids before hags resurface then Dash with them 30’ south.
“I accept your terms, human.” He descends and offers the sack to Starker from his taloned leg. “In faith, I offer these hatchlings to you.”
He then lands nearby and blinks while clicking his beak, “I am Crow. How should I address you?”
🐦⬛
“I am Starker of Waterdeep.”
Protection from Evil and Good will have no effect on a Curse once it is in place. It would help with the saving throw in the first place.
The Crow settles to the ground. His hands are free of weapons. "I have no steel in my hands," he says.
"You have our word that if you bring the children to safety, we shall stay our weapons"
Taking the babies from the Crow. "I am Kragen Gravelbeard of Clan Delhalls in the Galena Mountains of Faerun"
"How should we address you?"
[oops: twisted timeline. I may have jumped gun. shoulda waited for DM to say Starker to act. My bad. ]
Was bestow curse cast as a 9th level spell?

I was just going to have the same question in the OOC chat.
Also, was this a ranged version of the spell? I didn’t dig enough to know what lair action and blood sacrifice do.
DM's option....
