I am sure this wouldn’t be a popular idea, particularly as Starker seems thirsty for the whole lot of gems now, but maybe returning everything and taking a single emerald to this room.
“The room's walls and ceiling are carved and painted into a lush forest glen. Theillusion of foliage and shadowis nearly perfect—an ancient canopy looms above, thick roots curve along the base of the walls. The sound of chirping birds in the distance, buzzing insects and possibly a soft babble of water over smoothed creek bed stones fill the air. In your peripheral vision, you seeflickers of motion: leaves shifting, branches swaying, something maybe—watching. But whenever you turn to look, there is nothing.”
This is the most green place we have seen down here. Seems odd a lich would have this sort of illusion in his tomb.

Starker:”I gather you are worried that I have been affected by something called a Glyph of Greed. I assure you that I beliebe that is not the case. Assuming you are right, for the sake of argument, perhaps I should be the one to make the exchange so as not to en-glyph another of our party. May I have the wall walking cloak?”
Kragen looks at Starker and frowns at him “appreciate your courageous initiative Mage Starker, however, let’s follow through on Sir Chadwick’s recommendations.”
Kragen looks to Xymox “your choice, either you or I need to swap the sapphire with an emerald from the hand and let Sir Chadwick use it to enter the room.”
depending on Xymox answer, one of them accesses the niche via wall, exchanging the sapphire for the emerald.

Xymox: "Allow me then." the bard walks across to the niche via the wall to exchange his sapphire for an emerald.
"I think we have fallen prey to paralysis through analysis. Wounds heal..." Chadwick says as he walks through the door that Xymox open and makes his way to the other door on the left.
If nothing of interest happens walking to the next door, he jabs it with his halberd, then tries to open it.

Chadwick enters the forested room and walks up to the door to the left. He assaults the door with his halberd with no effect. Seeing that, he grabs the handle to open it. The carved skulls emit a sudden pulse of violet light, and dozens of translucent skull-spirits shriek silently as they pass through him. WIS save = 9. Chadwick silently screams as the skulls pass through him and he suffers 19 psychic damage. His face joins those on the door frame, screaming in agony.

Fool! We are here to end the lich, not ourselves. I pray you have good advisors to help with your impulses or Bumpkinvilledrink shall be in for some troubles, SIR Chadwick.
Sigh. In a moment of weakness, but a few hours ago, I proclaimed him more mature and thoughtful.
But interesting to see that the light was not green but violet.
Chadwick stumbles, then rips off his helmet pressing his hands to his ears in a vain attempt to silence the screaming. He shakes his head violently, then looks up saying what appears to be a prayer. Clear sweet smelling water springs forth from his hands dosing his face and body.

Xymox: "Stone, parchment, scissors?"
This place has a bit of an emerald vibe.
I am sure this wouldn’t be a popular idea, particularly as Starker seems thirsty for the whole lot of gems now, but maybe returning everything and taking a single emerald to this room.
“What gives you the sense that there is a connection to an Emerald gem, Master Trolkarl?” Cocks his head

"Doesn't hurt to try."
Assuming players don't object let's go back and swap the ruby Chadwick is carrying for a sapphire via the wall walking method.
If nothing jumps us during the swap Chadwick will enter the room with the new gem tap tap tapping the floor as he goes.
Xymox has a sapphire.
There is a good bit of interaction between those two sentences. Let’s go one step at a time, please.
“Very logical Master Trolkarl.”
You all stand there, looking into the verdant room.
Starker:”I gather you are worried that I have been affected by something called a Glyph of Greed. I assure you that I beliebe that is not the case. Didn’t we come to the conclusion that our interpretation of “you” was off?
Based on that notion. I am suggesting returning the earned and unearned collective, then taking a single emerald back to the rainforest cafe.
If we are still operating on the notion that it’s one per person- I can fly over and grab one.
Xymox walks across the walls to the niche to find the small door is closed. You distinctly remember leaving it open the last time you were here.
"You know," Yartol adds, "if you are so motivated by treasure, Gryndreneur has more than you can hope to spend in several lifetimes."
"I think we have fallen prey to paralysis through analysis. Wounds heal..." Chadwick says as he walks through the door that Xymox open and makes his way to the other door on the left.

Xymox will check to see if the door is locked. If so, attempt to pick it. 18+4+3=25.
