((OOC: Oops! This was a cross-post where I didn't notice that @Bartjeebus had posted just before me, and I thought that I was still waiting.)
Today/This morning
Since no one knows what the vial of blood that the hag possesses is or can do, Ixsas isn't sure how the hag keeps finding Toren on the road. He suspects that she's either traveling with the caravan in disguise or that Toren carries some evil token from the hag without even realizing it. As the caravan finishes packing up and starts to head out after breakfast, Ixsas casts Detect Evil and Good and walks along the whole caravan, ensuring that he gets close to all of the caravanners and their wagons. He wants to see whether any of them are a fey or fiend in disguise and to check no one carries an object that radiates a sense of having been magically desecrated. He does not explain what he is doing: he simply walks along the caravan, saying good morning and saying a simple blessing, like "May Kossuth's Light shine upon you this day."
Plan for Later
If that yields no results, then Ixsas says that the hag must be using Toren's blood somehow to find him each night. He suggests to the others that they'll have to wait until Toren is tossing and turning in his sleep again. He says, "When the hag comes to disturb his sleep, I can cast a spell on Toren that may ward him from the hag's touch." If the spell works, Ixsas doesn't know whether it will give Toren a full night's rest or whether the hag will be able to return later once the spell expires to disturb Toren again.
Whenever Ixsas casts that spell, he will definitely want the rest of the party with him. "It's possible that Nyatharel will appear and attack me to ensure that she maintains access to Toren," he says.
"I hope that a simple abjuration is sufficient," Ixsas says, but he doesn't sound confident. "If not, I can try asking Kossuth to break this curse, but that's a subtle spell. Since Toren entered into this bargain willingly, I do not know whether it's properly a 'curse' that can be broken in that way."
Ixsas joined the group because of his Quest, but he has little experience as a teamster. Faelsin's instructions and the hubbub of all of the caravans loading and unloading at Carnath House have him too distracted to pay proper attention to their surroundings.
Before moving to help unload, Serge seeks out Krackle and Zeds.
Quietly, he says, "I'll trust you two to spot our quarry. I've never seen any of these blackguards before." He is breathing heavy but then takes a moment to calm himself.
"I'll be ready, whatever comes next. Just say the word."
Then he moves for follow Faelsin's directive and begins to unload wagons into the storage warehouses.

Out of the corner of his eye, Serge catches a glimpse of someone on the roof. A guard? A spy? Some teamster stealing a quick smoke break? He tries to sneak a better look, without looking like he is trying to get a better look, but he sees no more.

Zeds also inquires with Faelsin about enforcement polices at Carnath. Does it have it's own guards? Is it every man for itself? Is anyone meting out punishments for theft or other crimes in an official capacity?
(OOC: Just out of curiosity, I'm sure! 😆)
((Well if someone steals from the party Zeds needs to know if he should kill them himself or turn him over to authorities... That's all. lol))
Faelsin has a look of relief and says that "as a rule we can place our goods in the warehouses, but our wagons and carriages have to be parked outside as there would not be enough room inside with all these caravanners present. Do all of you mind helping to carry the goods into warehouse 1. It is not full yet. Once done you can head into the main building to get some rest"
((OOC - Zeds would question the security of this - If Bog Luck and all only care about what affects them, does this mean they help protect the warehouses or no? Frankly either way Zeds would suggest someone at least be posted with the caravan goods to prevent theft and such... From other caravaners as well as Bog Luck and his men.))
Zeds Perception: 21
"Keep your eyes and don't look," Zeds says discreetly to those around him. "There's someone on the roof. Sticking to the shadows... I'll check it out."
Without waiting for discussion or comments, Zeds steps away from the others in some direction away from the building - Choosing the direction based on which seems to have the most in ways of cover and distractions. Zeds wants to loose any following eyes and then stealthily head back and, hopefully, sneakily climb to the roof and come up from behind the spy...

Ixsas is about to offer to "banish the shadows with Kossuth's Light," but then Zeds says that he'll take care of it and steps away. Ixsas does his best to help with the unloading, but he keeps his shield nearby in case some sort of fight breaks out. He hopes that thieves and logistical problems at Carnath House don't become a distraction to their larger goal of finding the agents of the Dragon Cult.
Krackle spots the figure and squints his eyes for a moment trying to get a better look before turning away as though he was looking at something else. "I don't like this place. Hopefully we can resupply and figure out where the cultists are and leave." The kobold says with a huff as he hugs his pack a little tighter around his chest... making sure that no one can easily take the bag from him..
Serge barely notices when Zeds leaves to investigate the rooftop. His thoughts continue to spin with the knowledge that somewhere in this compound may be conspirators who can lead him to the people who murdered Kost. Perhaps... perhaps some of the killers are here even now. He does his best to work off the manic energy carrying cargo. He is dripping with sweat now, but it is far more from anxious excitement than exertion.

(The guards only guard Carnath Roadhouse against threats that would cause harm to any of the buildings. So, if thieves steal an entire caravan worth of goods without damaging any of the buildings than Bog Luck would say the fault is with the merchant for not having guards. If these thieves dig under or break down a wall to steal than the guards would intervene. The guards do patrol the warehouses so in essence they deter thieves for just existing.)
The figure on the roof has a passive perception of 13.
So, Zeds weaves through the many crates stacked in the courtyard but the person on the roof clearly sees Zeds approaching. Using finger signs known to thieves he tells Zeds to shove off and find their own mark.
Zeds continues approaching, but slows a bit and still stays discreet to others but not trying to hide from the thief.
"Don't care about your mark," Zeds says, either aloud of also through sign depending on the distance still between them. "Just so long as it's not me or mine. Let's talk..."
Zeds pauses for a moment to assess the thief and to scan the roof and surrounding area to make sure there aren't more potential threats keeping an eye on Zeds - he doesn't like the idea of walking into an ambush. (Insight on thief: 12, Perceptionto check for others who may be with thief: 21) Assuming Zeds believes the thief is alone, he indeed continues up the roof an approaches.
"The group that just came in is all I care about," Zeds explains. "We have no problems so long as them and their isn't your target." He says it calmly and casually. He really couldn't care less if the thief is thieving or doing anything else to other caravans.
"Also not looking to do business here except protect them... So not aiming to step in on anyone else's territory or steal their marks. Just passing through," he adds to try to reassure the fella that he doesn't mean to be any competition to him. He weighs the pros and cons for a moment then adds. "Well, I am trying to catch up with some cultists I have an issue with... Don't suppose you have seen any unusual sorts around, have you?"
Zeds insight reveals little though the thief seems inclined to listen. With his sharp eyes he sees no other would be assailants on the roof.
The thief says "If you want me to spare your people from my skills than you should consider offering me something of value. Coins or goods works for me. I notice your caravan has some rather nice decorative swords or those tools of that dwarf fellow"
"Which dwarf?" he asks and steps close so that the thief can point out which one he means. If/when the thief turns at all to point them out, Zeds attacks.
Everyone can roll Perception DC 13
On pass you notice a person hiding in the shadow on the roof of the main building. Faelsin's warning comes to mind.
