We are carrying one egg with us, I think? And left the others back a ways? Zeds makes the case the group do a strategic retreat - We should go back and destroy the other eggs. We will then go through the secret passage, doing our best to bring Krackle's egg safely along. and get out of here. We need to get outside and try to hide so we can get long rest in. We could either return after that and try to clear this place out or we could try to return home... But Zeds think's we're on our lest legs and if we need to push it much harder we may not win out.
Krackle looks down at his feet. "I.... understand. We cannot leave any eggs here with these cultists. Maybe we can tie the rope to the chest with the egg in it and pull it up behind us.... If we could save one egg... I think it would be great.." The small kobold then looks up ton the group. "But if we cannot save any then... well... I guess I will just have to live with that."
(I had forgotten about that rope. Yes you can use it to ascend the chute with the treasure chest though whoever is pulling up the treasure chest will need to give me an Athletics Check. DC 14
Krackle would hobble his way back towards the room with the eggs and the chute. Assuming Ironthar had not destroyed all the eggs earlier, he would tie the end of the rope to the chest containing the egg and then scurry up the rope towards the barracks. He didn't want to be around when the other eggs were destroyed. Once some of his companions had made their way up into the room, he would help them pull up the rope with the chest.
If Ironthar had destroyed all the eggs after Krackle, Sterling, and Ked had left the room earlier, Krackle would be sad and we can RP that if it happened :P
(ooc - Personally I had assumed we undid the rope when we all went down, not wanting to leave a neon sign pointing out we took the secret passage? I even think we put rug back over it? Or tried? But too tired to go back and look right now...)
Zeds is willing to try to save the one egg so long as Krackle understands we're not risking our life over it. If push comes to shove it may be that we have to ditch the egg to save ourselves... But he's otherwise willing to give it a try. (Part of his mind wondering just what price a real live dragon egg brings....) In regards to climbing the chute without a rope, Zeds is lacking in brute force and isn't the prime athletics choice...
Krackle would cover his ears when any other remaining eggs are destroyed before his companions climb the rope behind him. Once the chest is up, Krackle would offer to help lift half of the chest as we make our way out of the cave, excited to have at least saved one egg.
If nobody else took on the task, Zeds would make sure the eggs left behind were not viable. He tries to be quick, efficient and quiet about it but his main goals are to not get any on himself and to be absolutely sure they are dead.
"I think we saved the best one," Zeds later tells Krackle with a wink as they are carrying the chest hopefully stealthily and quickly out.
"I sure hope so! What do you think of should name him... maybe Phil... Or if the dragon is a girl I could name them Phillesha!" Krackle replies whith a smile as he struggles to help carry the loot chest out of the cave.
We're cautiously leaving... You know, not just blindly rushing out. There were some guards out front, weren't there? If possible we'd like to not be seen by them as we slip out and are looking to head for cover of some sort? We want to be stealthy and secretive if possible.

We should retreat push back to town. A long rest outside is an option but I'm not a fan. Stirling says

The party can head back to area 9, but how do you plan to head up the chute? There is no ladder, and the sides of the chute are smooth to the touch.
ooc: weeft a rope hanging right? can we tie the rope to the chest with the egg and then climb the rope and then pull the chest up?
Ooc: I think we did.

Stirling cast guidance on who ever does the check. (D4 added to the roll)

Ironthar didn’t want to fuss by the details. If Krackle wants to being a chest of dragons egg all the way to town, he can do it himself.
Ironthar would try to take the treasure out.
Athlethic 8 or 21 (using adv in case anyone aid him) + 3 guidance
(I went back, and the rope was not taken down)
Everyone climbs up and Ironthar succeeds on pulling up the treasure chest with the dragon egg.
Krackle would cover his ears when any other remaining eggs are destroyed before his companions climb the rope behind him. Once the chest is up, Krackle would offer to help lift half of the chest as we make our way out of the cave, excited to have at least saved one egg.

"Considering your struggle carrying it, maybe Puff?" Zeds jokes.
Do you leave the cave or stay within?
I think we are trying to leave the cave and head back home with the chest.
Ya let's get back to town sleep on the way if needed
