We could roleplay the shopping. Barthen's Provisions, where you dropped of the supplies, is the biggest trading post in Phandalin and stocks most adventuring gear that costs less than 25 gp. Weapons and armor can be found at the Lionshield Coster, another trading post here.
Once Pip has finished his food he decides to go investigate what the Alderleaf boy might’ve found. He mentions his intentions to the party but keeps it on the DL as he takes a stroll in that direction….
Okay. So, Pip and Mayhew head out for the Alderleaf Farm. Toblen and Elsa are more than happy to give you directions.
"Head south past the Townmaster's Hall then take a left and head east," Toblen says.
"Yes," Elsa nods, "Qelline Alderleaf's farm is at the end of the road. You can't miss it," she adds with a smile.
When he returns to the common room a short while later and overhears you talking about going to the Alderleaf Farm, Pip Stonehill offers to take you there, but Toblen reminds him of his chores that still need doing.
Templeton, what are you doing? Are you going to the Lionshield Coster?
Pip follows the directions to the farm looking for the clues he seeks, Upon arrival, he knocks on the door to the farmhouse politely waiting for an answer. "Heya Mayhew, whatcha think we'll find in this search? I'm not itching for another fight so soon, but I always expect surprises ya know? That way I'm never surprised hehe."
Templeton will take his wares he nabbed from a few fallen goblins and will try to trade up.
"Hello shopkeep, I am interested in your wares and have a few of my own to trade. What do you have in the form of bows that you woukd be willing to barter? I have these few blades a short bow, and looking for a little more bow then this one is."
Pip and Mayhew, you stand at the door for a few minutes, but no one answers. Pip, you hear a familiar halfling ditty coming from the side of the house. If you investigate, you will find a halfling woman tending a large garden behind the house.
Templeton, the owner of the Lionshield Coster Trading Post, Linene Graywind introduces herself. "Those are some fine weapons you got there, though they are obviously used," she says. "We were expecting a shipment of new crossbows and long bows as well as bolts and arrows and some other weapons from Triboar and Yartar, but they never arrived. I hope the Redbrands didn't get hold of them, or those Cragmaw goblins. The weapons were meant for the militia we've been talking about starting. Right now, I have very few weapons."
While you are bartering with Linene, Sildar Hallwinter enters. "I'm afraid those goblins did get your shipment, Linene," he says. "I saw a large cache of weapons and goods with the Lionshield insignia on them in the cave of their bugbear leader before they dragged me away. From what I could gather, they were going to send it to their king at Cragmaw Castle."
"Is that so?" Linene asks. "You know, sir, if you and your friends who were so kind as to rescue Sildar here were able to retrieve our lost goods, I would be willing to reward you handsomely, and perhaps I could throw in a good, new longbow, if that's what you're wanting."
Okay. Pip and Mayhew, you introduce yourselves to the halfling woman. She tells you she is Qelline Alderleaf. When you ask about her son Carp, she hollers for him, and a young halfling boy comes running out of the tall stalks of corn. "This is my son, Carp," Qelline says as she put a protective hand on his shoulder. "These men wanted to talk you, son," she continues.
What do you do?
Templeton, what are you doing at the Lionshield Coster?
Templeton will meet back up with the others and inform them of the issues the Lionshield Coster is having as another potential job option to start with.
"Heya Carp.." Pip whispers loud enough for his mother to also hear, "Heard ya found a secret tunnel or passage? We're lookin to do some investigating and any help would be appreciated. Sort things out so you can go exploring with your friends no issues ya know?"
"Yeah, I found a tunnel," the wide-eyed little boy replies. "Who told you? Was it Pip Stonehill? I bet you it was. Did he tell you we are going to be adventurers some day? Is that why you're here, to recruit us into your adventuring party? I can show you where the tunnel is. It's in the woods by Tresendar Manor. I saw some big scary bandits come out of it and meet up with a couple of those Redbrand creeps."
"Carp! Haven't I told you not to mess around with those Redbrand ruffians?" Qelline says surprised as she turns the boy to face her.
"Yes'm, you did," the boy responds sheepishly. "But I didn't go near them, Mama. Honest, I didn't. When I saw the Redbrands, I came straight home."
"Not before you had time to tell that Pip Stonehill all about your little adventure, hmm?" Qelline says. "Now get inside before I tan your hide. I want to finish talking to these gentlemen before I deal with you."
"Yes'm," Carp says as he walks away with slumped shoulders and a frown on his face.
With that, Qelline turns to you. "I'd stay away from those Redbrands, if I were you, and don't go near their hangout at the Sleeping Giant taproom, either. They are nothing but trouble. If you are looking for real adventure, though, my friend Reidoth could help since there is not an inch of the land the druid doesn't know. He set out to explore the ruins of Thundertree northwest of here. You might could find her there. I can give you directions if you like."
"The more information we have, the better, ma'am," Mayhew will respond, with a polite nod. Once they get directions to Reidoth, Mayhew will suggest he and Pip rejoin the party, so we can all compare notes.
"mhm makes sense to me, I can always do some scouting of the tunnel if dats a route we want to explore at some point. Turn into a critter and go covert ya know?" Pip follows Mayhew as the reconvene with the others...
As you make your way back to the Stonehill Inn where Nari waits in her room, you meet up with Templeton in front of the Lionshield Coster trading post. Also, Sildar follows you back to the inn.
As you approach, you notice a couple of armed men wearing red cloaks leaving the inn. Upon entering, you see Toblen straightening up some turned-over chairs.
"What the heck happened? Those men the troublemakers ya mentioned?" Pip mentions as he starts to help tidy up, "Gots to deal with them soon before things get worse no? Maybe that passage leads to their hideout. Lets get Nari down here so we can chat"

(How do you want to handle shopping? rp it out, or phb prices at a certain percentage off when selling?)
((Excellent question!))
Nari is staying at the inn to eat, bathe, and relax in her room for now.

Mayhew will go with Pip. He doesn't really need to visit the Coster.
Okay. So, Pip and Mayhew head out for the Alderleaf Farm. Toblen and Elsa are more than happy to give you directions.

(Sorry, some how missed this was waiting on me!)

Nari, are you still with us?

Mayhew will smile kindly at the child, but let Pip do the talking.

Still with, she would have gone to the farm if they went up to get her.
