5 (for your seed you catch, the other d8 is for the wrestling.
As Barreknar catches the seed, it also turns into a gold piece. He then enters the wrestling area, and the two goblins put up a decent attempt at pinning him down, but they are ultimately no match for Barreknar who manages to pin them both down, barely breaking a sweat.
As a reward, he reaches into the box, and feels a horn. Getting excited for the prospect of a horned helmet, he pulls it out, and it isn't a helmet. It is in fact, a replica unicorn horn, filled to the brim with candy sweets and chocolate (I am from the UK. I don't care what the module says, I don't call it candy :p)
Slightly disappointed that the horn turned out to not be a helmet, he dumps the "not candy" into pouch and examines the horn (so clearly not a real horn, but how sturdy is it? It was enough to trick Barreknar but that doesn't take much, but what could it withstand if he did find a way to mount it to his helmet...) he goes to eat a chocolate while staring at the horn and forgets he had the coin in his hand bits it. "Hmmm, Rock candy, tastes horrible."
The coin is certainly a real gold piece. No doubt about that. The horn seems to have a hornlike texture, but is painted and hollow. You think that if it gets hit with a large blow in combat, it will break, but it will probably withstand small impacts.
Dravos misses the seeds, they are falling just too fast for him.
Everyone has tried to catch seeds, Barreknar wrestled goblins. What next? Anyone else for goblin wrestling or all heading to the snail races? (or somewhere else)
You all make your way to the snail races. As you arrive you see some pixies polishing the shells of the 8 snails which Barreknar watched racing earlier. You have the options of watching from the stands, or for 1 ticket punch, you can be a jockey. Most people seem to want to watch, so there is space for you all to join if you want. There are signs around stating that Neither Jockey nor Spectator is allowed to influence a race by using magic, or by harming a jockey or snail.
If you plan on entering, let me know if you are doing anything to improve your chances. If you wish to encourage your snail to move faster (Pixies will inform you that words of encouragement and stroking their shells can give them bursts of speed, but if they are unhappy with it they might slow down), provide me with up to 8 animal handling checks. (1 per round, race is max 8 rounds long).
Snail are as follows (You may pick one to either ride or support if you want)
Moneo heads up to High Road and places a hand on the shell of the creature. He says, "Alright buddy! You and I got this yeah?"He then swirls his hand around the shells as a horn pattern appears on it. "See! Now we're a team!"Then, after listening to the control words, nods to the pixie, and while waiting for the race to start pulls out his pan fluid and plays a little inspiring tune for the snail.
animal handling: 10 ; 18 ; 15 ; 3 ; 14 ; 8 ; 22 ; 11 performance: 16 (with proficiency since it's with an instrument I'm proficient with? if so, +2)
Barreknar hands half of the sweets he had gotten to Moneo, "Well I'm a bit too big to ride, slow them down I think. But if I was a betting orc I'd say see it the thing likes these, give him a bit of extra boost to his energy, possibly let a few slip out as you go for others to take time to gobble up. I saw saw grub for them fly down from the stands before while you all were tiny, best have a plan to deal with those distractions." Barreknar will look at the other riders to see if there any ideas he can get from other riders.
Barreknar, one of the pixies overhears and looks you up and down. "The snails are very strong. Your weight is no issue to them. Have faith in the snail and you will go fast"
(I will start the race in around 6 hours, 24 hours after the initial post with snail names. If no one else expresses interest, Moneo will be racing against NPCs. If you did want to race but were busy and missed the deadline post, there is 4 races per hour so you can still race)
Bit delayed, but with two of you and 6 npcs, the race is afoot.... Well, acrawl
The snails crawl very fast, on average (adjustments from influences ignored) they cover 80ft a round.
As the race starts, Revelry and Moneo pull away slightly slower that most of the others. They both quickly catch up, helped by the fact that one of the others seems too get a stitch and slows right down for a short while. Revelry pulls slightly ahead of Moneo, however Revelry gets delayed as someone throws a lettuce in front of his snail which stops to eat. As he works to catch up, making exceptional progress, another rider proceeds to fall off their snail as the saddle pops loose. At the final stretch, the front three are Moneo, A random human, and then Revelry, with about 10 ft between each of them. Some well placed words of encouragement from Revelry, combined with some loud cheers from the crowd, give Nimblefoot a boost of speed, while simultaneously High Road slows down a little, not quite feeling as well respected as they had been so far. The end result: Revelry and Nimblefoot cross the line mere seconds ahead of both Moneo and High Road, and the human riding Quickleaf, who were so close that second place could not be determined. Revelry, as a prize, you get handed a Potion of Advantage, and you notice the loser also got a consolation prize of a small wand shaped like a tulip.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Almost had you at the end there!"Moneo laughs holding his tulip wand and looking to the group. "Now where to? Hall of Illusion? We've still got a couple hours before the show at the big top. Ah... anyone seen a kenku or a mime recently?" ((perception 24))
Moneo, you don't see a Kenku around currently. If you wish to actively search you can make an investigation check and spend 30 minutes to an hour (your choice) looking. Alternatively I will just be aware you are keeping an eye out while going around the fair (will use the perception check from above continuously, but also requires being same place at the same time)
Any carnival worker can tell you the mime works at the Hall of Illusions
Candy must not have been as good of energy as had hoped. Oh well still got to see the prizes.
Regrouping with the others outside of the races, Barreknar thinks about taking on the goblins again but decides against it, what would it prove? And if he lost, well Barreknar didn't want to think of how the others would look at him then.
Slightly disappointed in the prizes Barreknar still holds out hope of finding a game with bigger prizes. "Well if memory serves, I belive our next stop was to be the hall of images. Perhaps we can find some more exciting games along the way."
On the way to the Hall of Illusions you pass the goblin wrestling again, and a stall selling Tree-sap lollipops for 1 ticket punch each.
As you get to the Hall of Illusions, you see that the large tent is painted with a mural of shifting images that show grinning faeries diving into pools of colour. The helical stripes of the tent’s pointed canopies rotate in spirals, and the whole display seems designed to befuddle onlookers. A clown dressed in muted garb stands at the tent’s entrance, blinking at you. To the side of the tent, is a wooden mannequin of a grinning, raven-haired young woman in witch’s attire and a green flowing cape hovering inside a glass cabinet. At the top of the cabinet, a sign reads “Tasha the Wizard—Known for Her Hideous Laughter.”
A halfling couple holds hands as they approach the glass cabinet. One of the halflings is wearing butterfly face paint. As he drops to one knee and pulls a small box from his pocket, his sweetheart bursts into laughter and begins rolling on the ground. The halfling in face paint begins sobbing and darts into the tent, past the muted clown without getting his ticket punched. The clown looks shocked, but doesn't follow. After 20 seconds (about the time that you all make it to the outside of the tent) the halfling stops laughing, runs to the tent entrance and starts shouting "Rubin come back! I love you!"
Moneo looks the mime, then to the crying halfling, then back to the mime again. To the mime he says, gesturing to the halfling running in, “Should we be worried? It’s not dangerous in there is it?”He then catches himself and says, “Ah! A mime! You must be Candlefoot!”Then lowering his voice a bit says, “I heard something interesting about you not too long ago… is it true you lost your voice? Or is that just part of the act? Where’d you lose it? Though I guess if you knew that you wouldn’t have lost it! Haha. How do you lose a voice anyway?”
Moneo looks the mime, then to the crying halfling, then back to the mime again. To the mime he says, gesturing to the halfling running in, “Should we be worried? It’s not dangerous in there is it?”
The figure shrugs, and starts to do something else, while jumping away from the entrance but then stops as you continue.

He nods, then shakes his head, then points at the floor. He then flaps his arms before grabbing the air in front of his neck, and pulling it away, and then moving his lips with a hand to his ear, followed by a shrug.
The curiosity of the Hall of Illusions intrigues Dravos, and feels a sense of excitement building inside him as he wonders what could lie in wait for them all.
He then watches as the mime shrugs his shoulders before jumping away, "What a strange fellow!"
