House Rules:
-All PbP Rules noted on the PbP Rules and FAQs thread linked in the campaign page -Do not Send Unsolicited PMs to your fellow players. lets keep a healthy environment and discuss what we need to discuss here, or simply ask to PM! -Don't reveal your name or any personal information about yourself in IC or OOC threads -a single initiative role at the start of the game will stay in affect, and will only be re-rolled after a short or long rest. -The rule of cool is applied. -Stress points will be accrued when you fail a constitution save triggered by fear. If the Constitution save pertains to one of your seeds of fear, you roll at disadvantage. -Your total stress score caps at 4, at which time the score will reset, and you will receive one level of exhaustion. -Stress score will be used as a negative modifier against all attacks, checks, and saves. -Inspiration will be awarded for fantastic role-play, combat worthy of recognition, and good call-outs in the OOC about any discrepancies or mistakes by the DM. Keep me honest! -Besides these house rules, we will proceed RAW (Rules as Written)

When posting in OOC, type however you feel free. In the IC thread, please post with the following format:
For character thoughts: "Italicize your text with quotation marks" For character speech: "Bold your text with quotation marks" For Out of Character information: Color your text purple and place at the end of your response. For example:
Perdition gazes upon the house that once trapped his spirit for Gods knows how long. Over a longer-than-necessary period of time he ponders "weeks... months... years? but finally, I'm free". as he begins to conjure flames within his hand, he gazes on the house for one last time. "Never again" he exclaims, as he casts the fire upon the house.
Perdition will cast burning hands on the house will take 14 on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. he will then use his full movement to walk away from the house.
Don't be too anxious, It's not critical but it will all help us read and understand better. I understand mistakes happen and more often then not any errors in formatting will probably go overlooked. just be mindful, respect your DM, and respect your fellow players!
The formatting toolbar above your text box will be utilized for formatting all text as needed. it is always visible on desktop computers, but on certain devices you may need to rotate your phone to the horizontal position to view the formatting toolbar, if it is not immediately visible. the toolbar will also will be utilized to roll dice rolls by clicking the dice tool on the toolbar, and entering (From top to bottom) The number of dice, the type of dice, any modifiers to your roll, advantage or other dice rules, and then clicking "Ok". This will generate a text code that will automatically generate a dice result when you post your reply. The number will only be present after you post your reply. If you edit a post, or otherwise tamper with the roll the post will be flagged as a tampered dice roll. It's no big deal from time to time, however consistent flags will result in the DM asking you to re-roll or rolling for you.
two groups from daggorford traversed the mist for their own prerogatives, and met a band of gypsies named the Vistani, who claimed to forsee the party's approach. In fact, they were waiting just outside of daggorford for them.
arriving from the svalich woods, the characters all knew they had been magically transported somewhere completely unfamiliar. The Vistani call this place Barovia.
And elder of the Vistani caravan suggested to check in with his Vistani sisters at the "Blood of the vine" Tavern
upon walking into the dark and dreary gothic-style village, the adventurers found all houses and businesses to be boarded up. cries heard from down the road beckoned them to approach. by which time they discovered two children, begging the adventurers to enter their house, and save their parents and younger brother from the "Monster"
Barely surviving the haunted "Death house" characters were left all-too confused as they escaped but coming face to face with Lord Strahd Von Zarovich, who with a wave of his hand, burned the house to ashes.
Lord Strahd had then offered the party entrance into his carriage, as they rode back to Castle Ravenloft for the evening. During which time, the Count had revealed to them his curse which also is what is behind the veil of mist that plagues the land. The only way to lift the curse, it seems, is to re-unite Strahd with his long-lost love; to be wed in holy matrimony. Or, for someone to slay Strahd once and for all, although Strahd suggests he simply has met his match just yet.
The company met a Vampire named Escher, who seemed to have his own agenda that didn't align with Strahd's will. Understanding this, Calamar approached Strahd in secret, and blew the whistle on Esther's shadowy initiative.
The following morning, the travelers geared up at the ravenloft armory and was sent on their way, to waylay Ireena wherever she may be, and beckon her back to Castle Ravenloft, and her souls former lover by any means necessary.
As night fell, another band of Vistani offered safe camp just off the road in the svalich woods. this banished vistani clan had an elder named Maksims, who saw that the faits had something special for these travelers. He mentioned that his band of Vistani had been outcast by his brothers and sisters, and stripped of their vistana magic, and they had since drawn their power by the magic of the Gulthias tree. He evaluated the group and determined one of them to be exceptionally gifted in the art of the divine. he offered to them the secrets of the vistani: how to craft a Tarokka Deck. One would need: 54 blank cards Paints imbued with the blood of the diviner Silk that has been warded against magic Wood imbued from the magic of the Gulthias tree Additionally, the cards must be painted in the light of a full moon. Once all items were found or made, the party can return to Maksims, and he will craft the Box, and imbue the cards with Vistani magic.
After the party arrived in Barovia, they broke into the burgomasters mansion in hopes to find Ireena and her brother Ismark, the burgomaster. Combat ensued with Ismark as he surprise attacked the company from ravenloft castle. The battle was hard fought, but ultimately rendered Ismark unconscious. The party tied him up and successfully persuaded him that they were not on the side of Lord Strahd, and instead want to help him and Ireena. Whether they were telling the truth or not, he knew his back was against the wall, and had nothing to lose, and much more to gain if he in fact did have more allies in the opposition against strahd.
Ismark revealed that Ireena was en route to Vallaki where he assumed she would be safe and out of the watchful eyes of the devil strahd. the party revealed to him that Strahd has intentions of being there nine days from now, and Ismark was persuaded to travel with them to Vallaki, to help his sister.
The team brandished the idea that Ismark should appear to be taken prisoner by the party, should they be noticed by any member of castle ravenloft.
I like the idea of a group name, that’s fun! I’m opening to finding a random group name generator unless someone has ideas we can vote on and agree that we all would like to identify as.
Completely up to you guys, my recommendation is each player throws some names into the fold and see what you like best—that also represents your group. group one is the mist-walkers. (Not really original) lol
