Zaerra blushes a little as she says, "Ahh no. Nothing of use like that in my book. My apologies on that one."
She quickly pulls out her spell book and flicks through just to be sure. She gets to the end and then looks at Irob with a wry smile and gives a little shake of her head.
Yga defers to the stealthier scout like types of the group and waits for the way to be led, knowing that this is not her craft. She is on edge and ready for any hostile discoveries though. She pats her flasks of holy water soothingly and then thinks that if we get split up others may benefit from them. "I've got three spare flasks of holy water - who wants one?" she asks of the party.
"Best we have a look around during daylight, seeing as most of the reported activity is at night. Might surpirise something while it is asleep." Susk starts to head toward the building.
"Although, it might be something that doesnt sleep, but hey, would rather meet it during the day than in the dark."
"Agreed. Whatever is happening here seems to be more active at night. We might have the element of surprise during the day". Rask follows Susk, moving towards the house. Speaking over her shoulder to Yga she adds "Thank you for the offer but I'm not sure I'd know what to do with Holy Water. I'll leave it in your capable hands".
Susk scopes out the two entrances - one goes into a dark hallway, another is in a dilapidated alfresco area that enters a brighter but dirty living room.
Moving to the breach in the wall closest to the living room Rask asks the group "Is everyone coming in? I am willing to go and help search inside. Will we need a watch out here?"
Zaerra steps next to Yga, quietly she says, "I'll take one of your flasks if that's OK."
Then with slightly more volume she says to the group nearby, "I'm happy to go through the living room. Will give us a chance to see if we can find something to light Irob's way, unless someone can help with that now. "
The party walk around the wall until they find a breach closest to the alfresco area and living room. The garden is overgrown, with a huge, thorny rosebush near the gate. A lot of the area was once a vege garden, but the vegetables and fruit trees grow wild now. Still, this has attracted many small mammals and birds, and their predators too.
Yakeerk looks about for tracks or anything of interest. (Survival check - 20)
Yakeerk points out small, flat mounds of fur.
"Snakes in the garden," he says, looking about. "They vomit up inedible parts. Nothing to worry about if we keep our distance. He looks around more. "And, something bigger here too, likely a predator of small mammals. Let's be even more careful."
Yakeerk spots movement in the rose bushes. "The creature is watching us, looks like its den is in the rose bushes. Good job we didn't enter via the gate. Although we might be too big and tough for it."
The members of Amici Noctia move towards the patio door. The patio paving is cracked and overrun with weeds. You all peer into the living room which is well lit from the windows. Other than a pile of refuse in the southeast corner, the room is dusty, but bare. There is a door in the east wall and a fireplace in the west wall.
The party are looking into the room from the door to the north.
Yakeerk draws your attention to footprints in the dust which can be seen from a certain angle. They come from the eastern door and just seem to stop at a point near the middle of the room.
Yga dishes off one of her holy waters to Zaerra and asks Irob, "I can light the way for you - do you have an item that I can cast my light spell on?" She will cast the light cantrip on the nominated item, as well as casting one on her mace, which she will now have ready for action.
Irob will produce a small mechanical trinket from his cloak and allow Yga to cast light on it. His stance changes to one of preparedness ready to cast a spell should he need
Susk peers into the room, noting the footprints that Yakeerk points out. "I wonder why that is, perhaps there is something where those footprint stop. Keep an eye out and I will head in to have a look around"
Susk will head back to the rest of the party and relay this information. "Do we want to continue to investigatefurther into the house or do we just want to wait to see who might pop out of there?"
"Perhaps we should investigate the trapdoor prior to the other sections of the house. It is statistically likely that someone is hiding there and it would be in our interests to investigate such that they cannot sneak up behind us"

"I'm all for exploring rather than staking out," admits Yakeerk, "sitting down waiting for something to happen doesn't appeal to me."

Which would you like use to enter the house?
"Due to lacking the capacity to see within dark spaces. I would prefer if we took the living room first and explored further from there if need be"

Susk enters the room quietly and looks around where the footsteps stop. Quickly he realises there is a trap door here, used recently.
