War Priest From 1st level, your god delivers bolts of inspiration to you while you are engaged in battle. When you use the Attack action, you can make one weapon attack as a bonus action. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (a minimum of once). You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest. Channel Divinity: Guided Strike Starting at 2nd level, you can use your Channel Divinity to strike with supernatural accuracy. When you make an attack roll, you can use your Channel Divinity to gain a +10 bonus to the roll. You make this choice after you see the roll, but before the DM says whether the attack hits or misses. War Domain Spells Cleric Level Spells 1st Divine Favor, Shield of Faith 3rd Magic Weapon, Spiritual Weapon
Cheez_Weezle overbooked his schedule and decided he couldn't join another game. But he wanted to go out in a blaze of glory. So, we staged this battle to let Theron go out swinging. I'm sorry I couldn't reveal that sooner, but he wanted his dramatic death and I wanted to honor that.
At this point, it should be fairly obvious that the scythe is attracted to power... specifically STR and CON. But it calls out the hardest to whomever slays its former wielder. That's how Bran got it in the first place. But although a morally tormented, good-aligned, paladin made for a great internal narrative, the scythe prefers a warrior who craves glorious combat. So, it called out to Theron. Whether Theron remembered killing Bran, or even intended to kill Bran, remains a secret that Cheez_Weezle took to Theron's grave.
But that's the hidden truth behind Theron's short and violent time in Santekh.
I ran out of time posting my updates. If I get a chance, I'll come back and edit in pictures of the NPCs in question later.
Also, the testimony/trial bit can be something that can be handled off-camera if you prefer. I don't know if y'all are in to courtroom drama subplots. If you are, we'll play it out.
Anyway, you each receive 750 XP for that encounter.
I mean Albert right now has his sidequest of making Mishakal shrine. Other thing we need to take care are the Kobolds. When Golden company returned from the previous quest, we brought back kobold envoys. We will have to mediate negotiations of potential cooperation. Also there are some possible missions with witchdoctor.
Thanks Larkolstad, I’ve caught up and updated my post to be relevant!
@DM, does Hastos notice if the Hachakee people in the LD were thes ones he saw fighting the Dragon Army earlier? Perception: 16 + 2 =18.
Sure! Not all of them are soldiers. But you recognize the ones that are, and they're sharing war stories with those who aren't. Vanthanor (and Glynnis) bare the tribal markings of honorary members who have been adopted by the tribe. They are not soldiers.
Guided strike from war cleric?
If I not used d8 for hp, I be total badass ;) but one on one I think fighers and barbarians still beat me. But it is good for special manouvers.
Didn't you use it already? I think in low levels there was only one use per day
As I read: You can use this class’s Channel Divinity 2 times per Long Rest, but can regain one expended use after finishing a Short Rest.
But I belive the dndbeyond with 2024 sheets are wrong and mislead me here. We use 5e and channel divinity is used once pr long rest.
So just ignore the result :)
Sera miss
@DM, does that conclude combat?
Character: Hastos, Ibahalii Vriwhulth, the Reaper of Glory v2: IC Thread
If that concludes it, Albert will definitely "Spare the dying" on our ragemonster.
I'm about to check the IC, but yes, I believe we are now out of initiative.

I did wonder if this was a character introduction going to hell. Lol
I had one of thoose in my younger days. (before youtube told me how terrible game master i was ;) )
Well this is a mess. We still act in turn order?
Oops!
I just assumed it was a free for all. If we’re continuing in turn order, I’ll behave. :-)

No need. Once we're out of initiative, there's no turn order. When I log in, I respond to your posts in the order that makes the most sense.

I think politic and trials gets a bit more fun when the character are more direct involved and risk something.
Xp!!!!
But it can be ok to have a few weeks downtime while the trial last.
But going out to find the dragon treasure sounds like fun next advebture ;)
I assumed Hastos did follow Sera already. The scene are in Laughing Dwarf...
Ha! I skip that part because I don’t want to accidentally talk about something I shouldn’t know about! I’ll go back and read!

Seems we are closing and getting a long rest. Any mission we like to follow up as a party?
