Merkas is discovering that he is now a spellcaster, he wasn’t before the event that took his sister and turned him blue, he was a rogue and treasure hunter. 
He currently just thinks these things are good fortune from his sister as he is on the right path of helping people instead of trying to get revenge. 
This is why he is a 1st Level rogue, 1st level warlock, and 3rd level wild magic sorcerer. It’s a mixed bag but he’s been rel fun pulling together. 

I would be down for deception checks that get higher dc as he discovers more spells and stuff.

Hey all. As per a suggestion a friend gave me, I've set up a Ko-fi page to help me afford an attorney by using my writing skills to make a little money.

Of course, you aren't required to pay for me to DM the game. 😅 I do this because I love it and it's a good creative outlet that lets me put aside the stress of my life and enter a fantastic world with wonderful co-creators like you.

But I'm still homeless, disabled, unemployed, and have no car. I just got permanently deferred from selling plasma for health reasons, which was my last reliable source of income. I still need to raise about $600 to afford an attorney to defend me in the divorce. Please don't give if you're also struggling to get by. Thank you, everyone who contributed. Between this, and my GoFundMe page, I'm closing the gap much faster than I thought I would. For health reasons, I have been permanently deferred from drug studies and plasma donations, which were my easiest ways to get money. With that door bricked up, I was worried that, so close to my goal, I was going to have to give up. This gives me hope. And that keeps me fighting.

So right now Merkas is concentrating on a create bonfire spell at the bottom of the ladder they came down. I don’t recall if it was mentioned if the ladder was metal rungs inset into the wall or a wooden ladder but either way the heat ia going to make climbing that ladder rather difficult for anyone trying to leave that way

You for sure have confidence it is not US needing to leave that way ;)

Since it's a sewerway, I would think they'd be metal rungs. Lets assume Merkas got them so hot, they're glowing. But once they cool off, they'll be usable again.

Just as a note:

Ororona has two potions and a spell affecting her at the moment. The potions will wear off soon, but they should withstand this battle, unless it drags out for a few rounds.

 It's been a very eventful 6 days. Maybe it's like when you find a new job and you haven't figured when you're gonna have your days off.

Just as a heads up, Hastos initiative was at the end of my last post in IIC. 😃

You're going to start encountering some unconventional monsters. To see if you know what it is, roll an INT Check to know its name and possibly some or all of its stats.

You can roll other skill checks, and you'll still get info on it, just from the perspective of the skill. For instance:

• Animal Handling: May give you an inkling of its behavior (diet, predator/prey, general attitude towards strangers, pack animal, or solo creature, etc)
• Arcana: If it's a magical creature, this will also give you its statblock, and what, if any, types of magic it weilds and is weak to.
• History: Studying your history tomes during you class training, you may have stumbled upon this creature in the Monster Manual
• Insight: It's a good way to get a vibe of the creature and what motivates or frightens it.
• Investigation: Will give you anatomical knowledge of the creature, but it's a risky move, unless it's already incapacitated. Investigation takes time and proximity. You could get bit.
• Medicine: Approximate to exact knowledge of the creature's HP.
• Nature: If it's a naturally occuring creature (like a horse, or a plant) this will also give you the full stat block.
• Perception: Observing its movements and temperament, you can learn to predict its attack strategy.
• Religion: If it possesses, or is made from Divine Magic, you may have studied this creature in your tomes, and will know the stat block.
• Survival: This could show you a stat block, but is more likely to let you know what parts of it are most useful for sale to Witchdoctor Duncan, or used in alchemical ingredients and spell components.

If anyone was going to be grappled by my monster, Hastos was a good pick for it. With his CON modifier he could wear that thing as a mask for 4 minutes without drowning. Good thinking being in front!
