The claws did some serious damage to Seraph but he has a plan. He quickly lashes out at the man with his tail. Charged with his ki he slaps the man across the face with his tail.
Lashing Tail (Reaction): 21 to hit | Dmg: 5 + 5 Necrotic
Then he tries to sweep the man's leg with his feet and then bash him in the chest with his staff while the man falls.
Quaterstaff: 9 to hit | Dmg: 6 Bash + 3 Necrotic BA Kick: NAT20 | Dmg (Energy Boost): 7 + 7 Bash + 7 Necrotic.
Also the damage instantly knocks out the man and him and the village seem to evaporate into strange smoke leaving only the dragon ball behind. Then seraph feels as if the amount of battle experience someone has could be put into numbers he would have just achieved 300 experience and if you could measure his level as a combatant it would have just increased to two (seraph levels up)
One more question about the extra spells you get from Soul Art... What is the level limit on it? From what I could see in the Sourcebook, it just said that I could learn a number of spells equal to half the dice size. I picked two 1st level spells but I would like confirmation on what the actual level limit/progression looks like.
You start with only level one spells and it increases to third level at level 5 it becomes up to fourth at level 9 fifth at level 13 and sixth at level 17
Seraph picks the man up by his shirt and says, "Me? I should ask you the same thing! Why were you running around pretending to be a monster and why did you have fake town set up?"
He says “what are you talking about fearfully” “all I remember was walking in the woods finding a strange ball. Then I heard a strange voice and blacked out”
Seraph explains, "You dared me to fight you for the ball and so I did. Hold on... did you say a strange voice in the forest? Where is was that forest?"
He says with a grin “you are looking for this right” and he pulls out the dragonball and he says “If you can beat me I will give you the ball”
Seraph twirls his quarterstaff and attacks the man.
Initiative: 16
Seraph goes first
Seraph is not willing to play around with this one. He studies this man's anatomy and ki flow, honing into weaknesses in his form.
BA: Hex.
He then swings his staff with two hands at the man's head.
Quaterstaff: 12 + Focus Boost: 4 = 16 to hit | Dmg: 7 Bash + 4 Necrotic.
Also Seraph is going to try and hit for non-lethal. He's not trying to kill the man.
The man is stronger than he looks and grows claws for 16 to hit and 6 damage
Concentration: 18 (Held)

10 + 9 + 21 = 40 potential damage this turn!
A question for future reference.
Can I use the Lashing Tail reaction to make an Athletics check to shove the enemy down to the ground instead?
Yes you can.

You can just say I gained 300 XP and Leveled up lol. Do let me know if my BP ever increases though.
"That... could have gone bad." Seraph comments. He takes the dragonball from the man and then tries to get him to wake up.
For leveling up, Seraph takes his first level in Rogue.
He now has proficiency in Athletics, Thieves Tools and knows Thieves Cant (or whatever is the Dragon Ball equivalent of it)
He also has Expertise in Insight and Athletics.
He has sneak attack now and his HP increased by 7

When seraph wakes up the man the man says “Where am I who are you?”
Seraph picks the man up by his shirt and says, "Me? I should ask you the same thing! Why were you running around pretending to be a monster and why did you have fake town set up?"

“I was mushroom forest” the man says
Seraph looks around. "There's... no mushroom forest nearby. Is your house here? Do you know where you are?"
