I’ll try because this looks sick. Can’t currently roll abilities but I did have a pre made character for another campaign that I wanted to use but never got the chance to.
Name: Jiki Myaku
Race: Human
Not sure if it’s allowed but I have an idea for a homebrew subclass that’s pretty much going to be a really character specific thing for Jiki. Main class is rogue or warlock and probably multiclass into storm sorcerer.
Backstory: Originally from a long line of this worlds equivalent to samurai, Jiki had been trained practically since birth to be an obedient warrior whose sole purpose was to serve others. He never quite listened and was always fairly rebellious and would sneak out away to enjoy the night, despite the risk of ghosts trying to take his soul. He would especially run out during thunderstorms and think of how it would feel to be the creatures responsible for lightning and thunder. One day his father found out about Jiki’s nighttime expeditions and in a rage stormed out to find his son, getting injured in the process and getting captured by slavers who though a once great warrior would fetch a good price. Jiki after seeing his father get captured offered to take his place and oblige with his father’s wishes of being nothing more than a servant. He was then carried away overseas and fell off during a sudden storm, and in the old jade earrings he had, the yokai that had caused the storm was captured after trying to take Jiki’s soul. He then washed up on the land(that if this was the real world) around the Middle East and wandered around aimlessly until reaching (insert place where story takes place).

"I have advantage on dex saving throws what could go wrong?"
Proud advocate of hands being rated E for everything and everyone.
One Sentence Backstory- Fighting for survival, struggling for each day in a harsh world - most times near starvation and homeless - Ardwynn wandered into a wood trying to collect roots for food when she stepped into a ring of mushrooms...
I tried to keep her to an orphan/urchin who is not fully into the magics and trying to be mindful of 'minimal magic' 1100s. Yes, eldritch blast... that's kind of a given but her other cantrip is magic stone ... something useful but not flashy or most times, noticeable.
Same for the spells. Yes, Armor of Kellara (mage armor) renamed to Armor of the Fae.. for flavor but the other spell... back to their street life with Distort Value.
If let me have a feat... which I had not expected. Eldritch Adept -- which gave her Misty Visions -- which, again, felt like it felt like the Fey influence.
*just realized it was one sentence backstory. My bad, but if I could edit it it would be: Samurai trades spots with his father and is captured by slavers before being shipwrecked and obtaining the powers of a yokai.

Not for this one, but I'll keep them in mind if I run a Yamato campaign here.

One Sentence Backstory-Waking up in an forest both familiar and yet unrecognize, the seemingly young woman's mind flashed with half-formed memories; A castle in ruins and overtaken by nature, cold chains around her wrists, a sharp pain in her pale neck, a sickly sweet voice in her ear, promising both life and power, and a warm, savory taste on her lips... the last memory causes a hunger to stir in her, one that both frightens and enthralls her.

I kept it succinct to try and stick to the one sentence backstory, but feel free to ask for any elaboration! Your setting seems like a really cool concept, and I look forward to working Fons into the broader narrative with you! Fun fact, her name is latin. It translates roughly into 'blood source'. Little on the nose, I know, but I'm a sucker for latin based names.
class: Fighter (plan to go arcane archer and then ranger gloom stalker for 3 levels)
Backstory: Born beneath Ereworn’s Curse, Caelan’s family taught him never to look directly into the forest mists, because something once looked back at them, and it’s followed their bloodline ever since.

I literally just posted that and don’t know why it’s flagging for manipulated dice rolls…
This sound interesting. I already have a cool concept in mind with a blood hunter. Now let's see if the Dice Gods are with me today.

Those scores are very balanced. Also, how much money do we start with?
Name- Albus Fionn.
" Race"- Variant Human.
Class- Blood Hunter (future Order of the Lycan).
Background- Haunted one.
One Sentence Backstory- Albus was a hunter for his village trying to eliminate the "wild animal" that was killing the cattle, but in his hunt he was attacked by this "animal" and was gravely injured. After 2 months healing from his wound he woke up and his village was devoided of people. Now he travels to find the truth of what happened.
Idk if you have your selected players yet but I'll toss mine out
Name- Maisie Blair
" Race"- Human with a touch of fae (Half-Elf)
Class-Paladin (Paladins are fine right? I can switch her to a rogue if needed)
Background- Haunted One
One Sentence Backstory- Maisie is a woman from Thuland who has dedicated her life to healing and defending people as she roams after being an outcast from her own village due to her seemingly elvish features, whispers of an affair or of switching with the real Maisie followed her until she was chased out, which makes her familiar with the odd stares and distrust people have towards her.

heh... one sentence backstories are tough! I tend to write a short story of 2-3 paragraphs for most of my characters.
Not for this one, but I'll keep them in mind if I run a Yamato campaign here.
Approved.
We'll do some work shopping in the OOC thread.
