Daran leads the group south to the T-shaped building. Standing about 10 feet away, he motions toward the building. "The old man said there were blights here as well."
"Right behind you as always, Uncle." Vondal declares with Vonsorm slung over a shoulder, and a perhaps needlessly over determined look on his face. As soon as he spied even one blight, he'd show it a surprise in bringing the axe head promptly on its face!

As the group approaches the building, they instinctively slow their pace and become defensive. They get closer. Nothing. Closer still. Nothing. Daran looks at the others. "Maybe he was wrong about this one?" he whispers.
“He ain’t been wrong ‘fore, these wee beasties are hard to tell from a normal stick when they ain’t movin’! We just got to ave a good look!” Karl says as he has a good look around (Perception roll = 5) peering closely at what everybody else can see is a no more than a stick.

Vondal tugs at the side of his beard for a few moments. "Or maybe they've somehow wizened up?"He whispered, yet his words held little conviction to them. After a few more moments of silence, he squints more heavily at the greenery/shrubbery near the following home, searching for even the slightest bit of discrepancy among it to denote a probable ambush.
Only after trying did he feel foolish, realizing in hindsight that being plant creatures themselves likely made it impossible to find them in their home territory. Even so, he brushes off any failure with a chuckle. And if Karl was to continue on inside the building itself, the gold dwarf would follow to at least search it for anything of potential use.
Vondal, as you start to feel foolish, and your eyes turn to laugh in the direction of the party, you notice something out of the corner of your eye: a slight movement contrary to the rest of the thicket on the southern side of the building.
Almost as soon as Vondal makes the discovery, he sighs and shakes his head. "You know I hate it when I'm right... Uncle. Everyone?" He says to the others while fishing out a dagger. "I'd suggest readying yourself. For we may be having company."Without further explanation Vondal spins on a heel, flinging the dagger in the direction of where he spotted movement last in the thicket.
Vondal's dagger disappears into the thicket, and almost immediately, there's the sound of rustling leaves. Six twig blights come scurrying toward the party.
As everyone was warned, the party can attack first.
"One two pick up sticks"Karl starts chanting as he swings Pacifier II Attack: 24 Damage: 12. If anybody looks askance at him he says "we'll get to three four bash in the door later!"
"Nevermind Five, Six to lay'em straight!" Vondal joins in the chanting as he rushed forth to meet the Twig Blights head on, beheading one hopefully with a swing of his axe, and then coming in around with a round house kick fed off the momentum. "Seven, Eight! A good cookfire they'll make, eh, Uncle?" He adds with a chuckle.
Karl and Adrom step forward to flank Vondal as the six tiny creatures run at the party, hands raised and claws extended menacingly. In unison, Karl, Vondal and Adrom swing their weapons. Karl smashes his into the ground, Vondal swings his sword with such ferocity that it cuts two of the creatures clean in half, and Adrom launches his into the air to land somewhere on the other side of the building. Immediately afterward, Vondal follows through with a swift kick to a third creature, knocking its head back with what would have been a sickening crunch if the creature wasn't basically an overgrown twig. The final creature meets its end as one of Nif's bolts sinks half-a-shaft-deep into its face.
"Well," Daran says appreciatively, "aside from the awful poetry, that was impressive."
Karl looks up with a grin "nine ten - start again."He then turns to the others and says "right - now are ready to go look at this 'ere dragon? Once I''ve 'ad a short rest that is!"
"Well, noone said any of us were good poets, now did they?"Vondal waggles his brows at Daran. Then to Karl he gives an apologetic smile. "Not yet, Uncle. There is still one. last. Matter. In case you've forgotten, which in fairness, I would've too if not having it always in mind." He admits as much. "There is still the matter of those masked folks to see to. Think of them as -- if hostile -- that final, proper stretch. Because so far, most we've done is clear up a few weeds."He cites, then turn to Daran.
"So, which is the last house, our elven friend?" he asked. With direction afterwards in mind, Vondal again props Vonsorm on a shoulder, and leads the march towards the masked men's possible home. Whereby he knocks on the closest door, if they hadn't already come out having somehow caught the short battle nearby along the way.

This small farmhouse appears to be just another empty home at first glance. However, all the doors are shut and windows shuttered. Vondal foolishly bravely approaches the front door and knocks.
Vondal frowns and tugs at the side of his beard. "Guess there's noone home."He said casually back to the others, though the look on his face says clearly otherwise. "Shall we take that rest then?" He asked aloud, but while giving Karl a hammering motion at the door, followed by a questioning 'Should we look?'.
