Adrom's swing smashes into the (green) spider with a mighty crunching sound and some splatter of some thick, yellow liquid. The large creature screeches in pain and stumbles on its long legs, but it is still upright.
The dwarf flinches at Nif's touch, and jerks its head so that its bruised and bleeding face is looking at the rogue. Nundro's eyes widen and shake, looking both at Nif and behind him. His face is a mask of fear. But after a couple of heartbeats, Nundro appears to calm, and his eyes lock onto Nif's, changing from scared to confused. "N - Nif?" he asks in a raspy, dry voice.

The green and pink spiders lunge at Adrom again. (Attack: 20 Damage: 11; Attack: 13 Damage: 8) Adrom deflects one with his shield and the other with his hammer.
The red spider makes a kind of hissing sound while still hanging from the ceiling above Vondal.
Without the ongoing threat of the mage, surrendered though he had, Vondal had no choice but again face one of his greatest fears. "Vhy is it just-..."He freezes for a moment; a hand but inches away from drawing another arrow when a thought hits him. "Wait... but..."The Hill Dwarf trailed off into a grumble while hurriedly trying to both fish something out of his pack and saying some urgency, "We got this one, Uncle. Get back to Adrom. Nif! Please. Out here now."
Only after does he finally pulled out the crystal, and with a quickly uttered phrase, an inner light glows from it as the spell takes hold of the dwarf. "A-Aight now. W-What is it you want, Spider? Food? A-A Master? U-uh... I-I have rations. Very tasty. More tasty than dwarf." He pleads.
"Yes" says Nif, "'t is I." and so saying he cuts the bonds holding Nundro and says "You're safe now." Checking to see that Nundro is not about to fall from his seat (if he is he gently lowers him to the floor), he then says we have some spiders to attend to and dashes out the door to where his crossbow is and collects it, keeping one eye on the downed mage, and one on the spider above Vondral.
Despite Karl's approach, the two spiders on the floor continue to hound Adrom. (Attack: 23 Damage: 11; Attack: 10 Damage: 11) One's bite lands, while the cleric deflects the second. (Adrom, roll a DC 11 CON save or take 4/2=2 poison damage — 1 on save.)

The spider on the ceiling hisses, and Vondal understands it to "say", "Must obey master." It then sprays a stream of webbing at the monk. (25) The webbing falls all over Vondal, and he finds he is quickly restrained. The spider then walks down the wall so it is only 10 feet above Vondal.
Vondal tried to at least turn away, if only to protect his mouth. Because soon enough, he'd be needing it after for a desperate play. "Master dead. You need not do this. Vondal... *gulp*... Vondal can be friend? Ally? Let friend spider eat mean Master?" He asks suggestively while struggling to shift just that little bit around to face the spider. That way, though every fiber of his being wanted NOTHING to do with the spider, he at least could keep up a tough front, least he'd encourage the spider to continue its dastardly plans.

Just as Karl reaches the spiders threatening Adrom he hears a muffled "mwphh" from behind him. He quickly looks over his shoulder an spies Vondal copping a mouthful of web "well that's one way of shuttin' 'im up I reckon" he mutters to himself "but honestly I can't leave these young 'uns alone for a blasted second 'fore they get themselves in trouble but as Pops" whose ghost/spirit should be hanging around somewhere "... use ta say, face the problems in front of ya - and the rest will have to wait!"as Karl swings Hew at one of the spiders (Attack: 17 Damage: 14)
I had lost count, but went back and counted. We're in the midst of Round 13. That means Karl's rage ended a little bit ago. Grant, if you want to say you re-entered your rage one or two rounds ago or this round, I'll allow it.
Vondal, we'll have to wait until the spider's turn to find out if your attempt was successful.
Karl, you swing, but miss your targeted spider.
Nundro is fairly pliable in Nif's hands, allowing the Duergar to move him around like a doll. "Thank you," he says quietly as Nif is leaving. "Thank you for coming."
With Karl at his side Adrom feels his strengths renewed.
"It's good for you to join the party lad. How are things back there? No more enemies? Good. Let's finish this hairy-multilleged pests... " he says swinging his hammer towards the spider he almost got the last time.

Nif fires at and hits the spider attacking Adrom that looks more injured. His arrow lands between the creature pincers, causing it to spit a glob of goo on the cleric. With another cough, the giant arachnid collapses to the floor. Its long legs give a final quiver before falling still.
Adrom swings his hammer at the remaining spider (red), hitting it soundly.
The spider bits back at Adrom. (Attack: 21 Damage: 6 — Adrom, roll a DC 11 CON save or suffer 9/2=4 poison damage or 2 if you save. Also roll a DC 10 CON check to keep your shield of faith going.) Despite the dwarf's physical and magical barriers, the spider manages to get in a bite.
The spider on the wall near Vondal moves down and bits at the restrained monk. (Attack: 20 Damage: 4 — Vondal, roll a DC 11 CON save or suffer 10/2=5 poison damage or 2 if you save.) Unable to move, Vondal feels the creature give him a little nip. The resulting burn worries him more. The creature crawls back up the wall 10 feet.

Con Save(DC 11): 15.
Reaction: AoO vs Spider. Attack: 16 Damage: 3 non-magical bludgeoning.
For just a briefest of moment, Vondal held on hope that his words might've just reached the spider. The hope instantly dies and the fear returns when instead the fangs broke skin, eliciting a howl of pain. Though nearly overwhelmed in the heat of the moment, as it dared to retreat, the hill dwarf summoned every bit of long suppressed dwarven rage and spite to try and snap some webbing away in punching its retreating bum!
After, he puts that very same rage to use in trying to tear free from the webbing, before making a temporary retreat. But once he turned back eventually towards the source, glaring at the spider, the fear yet suppressed for the moment.
