Rodolfo whispers, "Is it alive? Are we facing another medusa area here? I'll be back here.."
( is the tunnel high enough where it would be possible to "walk on walls" over the obstacle? )
It is an encounter, and as much as I would be fine to have it be negated with resource consumption, it has the potential to tell a bit of story that Orubis and Grithik might not be aware of. I don't want to simply bypass it without some kind of knowledge gathering at the very least.
I will give you a gimme though: Beegred, Rodolfo and Skameros should be triggered by this.
Orubis scratches his face and starts backing away slowly. “It’s getting colder. Not a good sign. I’m thinking this is an invader of my lord’s domain. We need to kill it. Fast and from a distance.”
No map for this.
You are in a tunnel that took a sharp corner. So your party are at the bend and the creature is 15ft away. It is not currently hostile. It looks... dazed.
Going to rule it that Rodolfo used the wand on his turn in the above initiative, so we start at initiative 8. Which is appropriate, since the creature goes next.
Hmm, Dreak (Grithik) hasn't been active since Sept. 28. I'll give it until next Monday, but if he hasn't posted, I think Grithik will go on a autopilot.
The creature, which Beegred and Skameros will have recognized as a drow afflicted by Zuggtmoy's spores/influence has been defeated. If the party doesn't wish to risk being infected by carving away the fungus to loot the drow's possessions, then there is nothing left to do with respect to the creature.
To continue the exploration of the tunnels to find Entremoch's Boon, the party must pass the area in the tunnel that is cold and covered in brown growth. As a DM, I am waiting for this part to be resolved.
I suggested radiant damage (Grithik's sacred flame) because there is at least one mold that feeds on fire. Skameros' suggestion (fire) might backfire (literally) if we don't try something else first.
If we want to try something else instead of remote-controlling Grithik, then Rodolfo's force damage seems to be the best choice.

Beegred concentrates on the tunnels and caves to be able to remember how to return. (Favored Terrain, can't get lost)
Rodolfo and Orubis look for clues that would indicate the correct path to take:

Does it remind us of what we saw back in the Mushroom grove with the crazy demon lord shroom?

Do I roll initiative?
I think so.

@Rodolfo: Range on Prestidigitation is 10ft. Are you getting closer to cast that spell? I would rule this spell would not provoke combat.
Yes. Rodolfo is very afraid, but he values additional information very highly.
That wand is the best thing that has happened to this party since I joined :P

Narstin is no longer with us, is he?
Yeah... copy/paste mistake.

and I'm hoping someone has some kind of fire we can maybe clear out the brown growth with to pass - instead of just blindly wandering in to it.

Rodolfo has cold and force and using cold doesn't make sense. So force it is.
