I'm going to say that there are no oozes or slimes between your party and the Gibbering Mouther 'puddle'. They are either to the sides or beyond the pool.
So what is your plan with the crossbow bolt? To shoot the ground near the Gibbering Mouther to try to draw more oozes to it? Or just shoot it into the back of the cavern to see what reaction you get?
he will start by shooting the ground to try to lure some oozes close, and if that doesn’t get their attention, he will launch into the oozes directly. I’ll post on the main thread.
For others - you're in for a fun ride with this encounter. It's such a surreal story :D
After we initially encountered this thing then I looked it up in the adventure and used it in a game I ran at the time for a real life group. It invokes disbelief like nothing else :)
Not sure we're missing posts? I think we're once again not sure what we should do - or at least I'm at a loss other than continuing to banter with Glabagool
Glabagool is leaving (but not gone yet) to find out where the King goes/stays. When Rodolfo asked how to meet up again, Glabagool responded he'd look for you in the place the King doesn't want them to go into, yet. Hint: probably Inner Blingdenstone?
You've explored the north-east corner of the old city ruins. There's an area, directly east that remains unexplored, but to get there you'll have to go through a lot of oozes and/or a gibbering mouther. You've learnt that the oozes will be triggered by any organic material. Once one sounds the alarm, all the rest join into the frenzy and disperse looking for 'food'. (ok, I'm probably giving that away here..)
The gnomes are training and gearing up for an assault on the oozes, in a week or less. You're all exploring to fill in the time until then. If there's nothing else you can all think of to do or try, then we can fast forward to the assault and proceed from there.
I wouldn't mind taking out a few oozes. We have some area effects now for damage and some ranged options as well. If it comes to that then we can just run away as well.
Is Beegred around? Is he going to go explore the ceiling of the cave to investigate the dark splotches that Rodolfo has seen?
Just agreed with Rodolfo's suggestion to check out the ceiling more closely.
I didn't have any good ideas to suggest (other than not wading into an army of oozes).

I can shoot a crossbow bolt from maximum range..

For your second shot, you're attempting to actually hit an ooze?
Also, since you mentioned shooting from max range, you'll have to roll with disadvantage for being in your second range increment.
(Not trying to hit them directly, just trying to stir them more maybe by hitting them with some kicked up rubble.)
heres a roll for disadvantage: 12 take this one if worse.

Yes - who doesn't love a sentient gelatinous cube - who so far hasn't eaten them but followed them around
(Skameros may have been feeding them like a stray dog)

Well, do you? I'm not managing your inventory.
Trying something to try to get to the pudding king without fighting thousands of oozes..
I’ve seen this for all of just a couple posts and I already love glabagool

Is it just me, or are we missing a bunch of posts?
In any case, I'm checking in. Ball is in your court. Need to know what the next step(s) is(are).

I’m ready to do some fighting, but we can fast forward to the assault, if no one has other ideas!
To be clear: if I create mushrooms, the slimes will frenzy and then go racing everywhere to eat anything they can find. Ie: they’ll go eat the town.

Ok that sounds bad! Well when we do the full assault, thurnir can be better prepared with the spell magic weapon.

Sorry folks. Had to isolate at home and test my youngest. Didn't get much PC time.
It's late now and I'm beat. I should be able to post tomorrow morning.
