For the past minute or so of Ferry's performance, Tozer has been holding his beard in such a way that it would allow him to cover his nose and mouth. The stench would strike fear into the heart of Uthgar himself.
Tozer takes note of the fact that the guards, by nearly closing the door, have no view of the prisoners. "If we can pick the lock to this gate then we can leave silently. Then a group of us can cross that bridge and burst into the tower and take the guards by surprise. Which one of us has the lucky fingers, friends? Beegred gave it a try; now let's all of us do the same."
Growing more impatient by the minute, Tozer takes hold of the metal shard and fiddles with the gate lock for a while and mutters a few of his chosen bits of dwarvish profanity...
Ferriman gingerly places the chamber pot to the side of the doorway, then pulls his pants up. "Allow me to make an attempt," he says. His voice has returned to its previous deep-sounding, unemotional state. He holds his hand out towards Tozer for the shard, then draws it back immediately upon seeing how soiled it is. "Um, I'll go last," the halfling mutters, moving aside. He then moves aside and crouches down to rub his hands in the dirt to get the muck off.
After looking at Ferriman's filthy hands, Tozer is more than willing to join his efforts with someone other than the halfling. One more reason to leave this cell and jump into the water.
"These hands are far more accustomed to swinging a maul or throwing a javelin," muses the dwarf, "but, for now, let's see if they can help some of you with opening this cursed gate." Tozer then hands the metal shard to his cell mates and does all he can to help them pick the lock...
"Excellent work, Jimjar!" Narstin exclaims. "Now, how do we want to do this? If the anti-magic field doesn't extend too far past the gate, I might be able to stay on this side of the bridge and use magic to attack the guards while others cross."
"That bridge--if you can call it that--won't allow very many of us to cross it at one time. Anyone who can attack with magic from a distance, as Narstin suggests, please do so."
Tozer looks at the quaggoth, then at Xilyra. "Xilyra, ask Derendil if he'll cross the bridge with me. He and I will fight the guards and grab some weapons. If he won't do it, then we flee with empty hands it seems."
As the lock was being worked, Ferry has been busy rubbing dirt and dust onto every part of his body that was soiled. By the time the door is popped open, his hands look, for the most part, clean; however, the hair on his bare feet are caked in a dry, mud-like substance.
The halfling sidles up next to Tozer and furrows his brow. "I shall cross after you and join you in the fight" he booms, dropping his body into a fighting stance. "The Nameless One needs no weapons in combat."
Beegred: "After TNO has crossed the bridge, I'll follow after. Halflings, one at a time, should be okay."

"You've earned your place in whatever fight comes our way, lad," says Tozer to Ferriman.
The dwarf watches the hulking quaggoth as it cautiously makes its way across the bridge. Tozer, after taking a deep breath and gripping the crossbow bolt in his right hand, attempts to duplicate Derendil's feat...
As Tozer and the prince head to cross the bridge, Narstin exits the cell and steps up to the ledge next to the bridge where he's as far away from the cell as he can get without going down the stairs and has a good line of sight on the guard's tower.
When Tozer steps onto the bridge, it sways and he compensates as he anticipates. However, Derendil tries to compensate as well, and the bridge ends up moving counter to Tozer's expectations. Between Tozer and Derendil trying to both stay on the bridge, it begins to sway more and more, not less.
Seeing the situation getting dire, Ferriman falls flat on his belly, grabs the bridge in his hands and tries to dampen the swaying, managing to do so before Tozer and Derendil get thrown off.
Beegred is behind Ferriman. (The resistance to poison comes in handy, if he is downwind.)
As stated, as soon as TNO crosses that bridge (and is off), Beegred will go next.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Tozer takes a moment to calm his nerves after nearly being pitched off the bridge. Stone! That's what's used to build a real bridge. I owe that little halfling.
The dwarf then communicates to Derendil with a few simple hand motions. He points at the partially-opened door, nods his head, and holds up his hands in two fists. With the likelihood of battle looming very near, the familiar mix of nervousness and excitement washes over Tozer as he barges into the guard tower after the quaggoth...
When Ferry sees the dwarf's hand communications, he grabs a handrope and lowers himself into a starter's-line stance. "Prepare yourselves," he whispers to those behind him. "Don't forget the, um, bowls if you need something to throw at the enemy."
Prince Derendil shoves the door wide open and steps into the guardroom (F-9).

Buppido and Narstin, Prince Derendil and Beegred, Eldeth and Tozer all tried to unlock the gate before Jimjar, with the help of Valthana, succeeds.

Xilyra translates for Tozer. Prince Derendil's answer is clear; he walks onto the bridge up to the closed door and looks behind at Tozer.
