Although Beegred wouldn't mind getting battle experience to get stronger, time wasted with a fight would allow any drow pursuers to get closer.
Being able to avoid an unknown threat is probably for the best.

Typically Xilyrah would linger to see if there was something of value she could steal as she's fairly certain the sound they're hearing is miners, but her desire to leave the Underdark is greater than her greed (at least for now). She continues on with the others.

As you move onward, the sounds do indeed become more faint as you distance yourselves from them. The remainder of the day is uneventful and when your fatigue and hunger inform you of the need for a long rest, you settle down and make camp.
Beegred: "Some of you were hoping to take out some evil miners yesterday, assuming that was making those tink-ing noises. Once we widen the gap between us and our former prison, maybe we can think about being bolder... I'm guessing there will be enough encounters we can't avoid, we won't lack for excitement."

Narstin nods. "I have no idea who or what was in that other tunnel, but right now the priority is getting as far away from any drow pursuers as fast as possible."
At a time that seems appropriate, Tozer decides to chat with Eldeth. "Gauntlgrym...what's it like? I've heard a few tales but never from anyone who's actually visited the place."
Eldeth doesn't require much prompting to launch into her thoughts on Gauntlgrym…"Visitor? I be with Bruenor Battlehammer's army when he be retaking the great city from the Drow. Gauntlgrym be my home now!
It be an ancient city, but it be lost to dwarves millenia ago. It be seeing many wars and many occupants and that be leaving it haunted and unsecure. King Bruenor be working to restore it to it's glory, but the underdark denizens be causing problems. That be why I be scouting below Gauntlgrym when I be captured.
This be worrying me. Very brazen to be getting that close to capture slaves. I be needing to return and give warning. And if I be dying in these depths, you be taking my remains, or at least my weapons and armor and be returning them to Gauntlgrym along with the warning, yes!?"
You all set out on day three, and maybe an hour into your travel you emerge into an immense cavern. The path follows a ledge with an inclined drop-off into black depths to your left. Occasionally the path passes through a tunnel and emerges back into the cavern. Midway through one of these short tunnels, a fork in the path provides a view down a straight side tunnel and at the very edge of your darkvision, you can see a wall of thick webs. At the base of these webs, you see numerous corpses, many still in clothing and armor.
Sarith, who has become silent and distant lately, only motions toward the path you are currently following. He walks a dozen feet ahead, then turns and waits for all of you to follow.
Tozer listens to Eldeth, and he senses her love and concern for Gauntlygrym. Her request catches him off guard, but he is honored by it nonetheless. He nods and says, "You have my word."

Beegred: "Do we want to risk fighting giant spiders, to see if there are any useful items on their previous prey? Maybe they have a religious symbol for Narstin, or a sprig of mistletoe (tcha, right)."

"While we got some equipment from the guardhouse, they could still hvae things of use. Even mundane things like waterskins or packs would be of immense help." Narstin says. "I say we check it out."
With Narstin at his side and the others close behind, Tozer makes his way toward the wall of webs and the unfortunate souls who came to their end within them...
The party moves up the tunnel, two abreast and in step. Everyone is scanning furiously for dangers. As you move forward, Tozer and Narstin feel the tiniest of spider strands across their face as they step through it. Almost immediately, several shapes leap into motion. One tiny spider drops down and lands on Narstin's shoulder and attempts to bite...
Spider bite attack: 11 … and discovers unyielding chain mail armor.
The large thick webs with the corpses at the base extends from floor to ceiling at an incline. At the very edge of Tozer and Narstin's darkvision, high up on the web, a large spiderlike shape skitters down a few feet, then disappears. The web where it was bounces a couple times and stops.
To the right, maybe ten feet from Narstin, at the very edge of a corner a giant spider like those the drow domesticated looks at the party. From the ceiling (20-30 feet up) three more medium sized spiders turn to face the group.
(Derendil, Buppido, Tozer and Xilyrah can act. Map incoming.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Upon seeing the multiple spiders lying in wait, Tozer immediately descends into his familiar barbarian rage. He leaps forward, swinging his maul at the giant spider looming to his right...
From the ceiling (20-30 feet up) three more medium sized spiders turn to face the group.
D5 (medium), E7 (medium) and i10 (medium) are still on the ceiling. B6 (tiny) and C6 (tiny) are on the wall about 7-8 feet high. Large spider at E10 is on the wall, but at ground level. The other large spider disappeared after some of you saw it.
That's a big hit... do you want to hold that attack as your action instead?

Miners of some sort. Dwarves or svirfneblin I imagine, thinks Tozer to himself.
Despite his unease with being led through the Underdark by a drow, Tozer chooses to keep his doubts hidden for now. "Lead on then, Sarith."

Your period of long rest is also uneventful and you wake up fully rested for your 3rd day of travel.

Tozer strains his eyes, studying the mass of webs. In response to Beegred, he says, "I'm willing to risk it. We have many needs."

Xilyrah nods to the others and rubs her hands together. "I'm always ready for a little looting."
