Narstin, Derendil and Eldeth jump to their feet noisily, alerting Buppido who immediately turns around and flees a full 60 feet.
If you wish to pursue Buppido, we are going to fall into 'chase' mechanics. Buppido starts 90 feet away. I will use your initiative to proceed. Or let me know if you do not pursue.
Beegred will run after. His speed is faster for the first round only, and covers 70 ft. with move + dash. The bonus action would be for Hunter's Mark on Buppido, for advantage on tracking (or more damaging arrow shots).
After the 1 round of run & spell, if no one else is coming or there are shouts to let Butt-Face go, then Beegred will give up the chase.

Tozer mutters under his breath, "Damned derro,"as he watches Beegred give chase. The barbarian then sits down, closes his eyes, and attempts to resume sleeping.
Beegred immediately launches forward towards the fleeing Buppido and casts Hunter's Mark. With no one else joining in the chase, Beegred returns to camp and everyone settles back in for their long rest. An hour later, the Hunter's Mark wears off.
Day 12 travel is uneventful and the party manages to forage just enough food to eat for the day. During the long rest, Tozer and Derendil are not being particularly quiet, yet Derendil notices the bumbling oblivious approach of Buppido at 60 feet from the camp.

Derendil watches the little derro approach and speculates as to why the little creature continues to try to approach the group when they take time to rest. Derendil pictures the derro stealing from them. He pictures the derro attacking them. He pictures the derro leading dangerous creatures to them. All of this stirs the quaggoths fight reflex and working himself up into a fury, Derendil jumps to his feet with a loud snarl that wakes up the entire party.
Buppido curses in dwarvish and flees yelling in dwarvish, "Diinkerazan decides not yet time!"
Derendil lunges forward around 30 feet, panting, snarling and flexing his outspread claws, lost to the beast. When the quaggoth loses sight of the derro, it turns and looks upon the group, still caught up in his bloodlust...
Seeing the enraged Derendil turn towards the group, still in a bloodlust, Narstin casts Sanctuary on himself and slowly approaches the Quaggoth. "Derendil?" he says in a soothing voice. "Buppido is gone. It's only us here now. Your allies."
The quaggoth instincts are overpowering Derendil, who doesn't even hear Narstin speak. With Buppido gone from sight and so much pent up battle lust, Derendil searches for something to hit just as Narstin walks up to him.
(Roll initiative. Note, this doesn't have to be resolved with combat although Derendil will be attacking on his turns. Due to the first failure, the DC to persuade Derendil to snap out of it is now 13.)

I don't anticipate this going too long, so I'm going to run this one theater of the mind. Unless anyone objects...
Situation:
The party is currently waking from the loud snarling Derendil made as he ran off down the tunnel. Everyone but Derendil, Narstin, Tozer and Xilyrah are prone, on whatever they use for bedding. Derendil, Narstin and Xilyrah are 30 feet away from the rest of the group. Derendil looks fit to knock someone's head off but whatever he ran towards fled. Still in a battle fury, he turns to Narstin and looks ready to strike.
Sarith is the first to act. (He uncharacteristically seems concerned and will be motivated to prevent any casualties). Eldeth (who is selfless, will protect Narstin at all costs, if necessary) is next, followed by Xilyrah.

(I'm guessing that Sarith's natural Drow arrogance is going to take over. Sorry that he is going first, and likely to make things worse.)

Eldeth is awakened by the sound of the snarling quaggoth. She rises from her spot and moves in closer (since she was prone I'm assuming she's still about 15 feet away). Speaking to the beast in a soothing voice, "Prince Derendil, it is I, Eldeth. Do you remember me? I am your friend. Please come and lie down. The derro is gone and we are all safe now. You were valiant and brave."

"If he is being that obvious, I deduce he is not trying a sneak attack." Beegred looks proud of his reasoning skills.

DC 10 persuasion check.
Xilyrah hears the commotion and sees Narstin trying to calm Derendil. She slowly moves in closer to offer Help.
